I have been going to PT, and massage through this clinic on, and off for probably almost a decade…read more I started when the clinic was at another location. I can tell you the quality of care you get from everyone you see is genuine, caring, and nothing short of amazing. They have helped get me healed through many car accident injuries, and also through some pain when I had fallen, and broke my tailbone a few years back. Right now I am receiving care from totaling my car into a deer back in June. I am still sore, and the therapists, and massages have really helped get me through. They also offer Pilates, and I think other therapies. I was supposed to do Pilates to help heal my injuries, but I ended up with Covid the end of August, and my schedule didn't mesh with who ever was supposed to do it. So bummer on that. Although years ago I have done some Pilate work through here, and I found it very helpful. They have great equipment for PT. The staff is very friendly, and they do their best to work with your schedule to get you in right away. The PT, and massage is also usually the same day. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for PT. You will get quality care. I have been to other places, and don't feel like I got what I needed from them.

Physical therapy generally seems to fall into two camps when treating chronic pain: solving the…read morepresenting pain, or addressing the underlying movement patterns. From what I can tell (I've had 5 appointments), Staszak PT is focusing on addressing faulty movement patterns which will resolve the presenting issue. I came in with chronic neck and upper back pain, as well as some ankle stiffness. They've been teaching me how to strengthen my TVA and glutes, work on ankle mobility, stabilize an old shoulder injury, and addressing things I've always assumed were just how I was made (I've got one foot that flairs out a little instead of pointing straight forward, and I'm slightly bowlegged). I've been diligent with my exercises, and I'm gradually feeling more stable and also feeling my muscles relax as they don't need to compensate for my poor movement patterns. That's leaving me feeling stronger and in less pain. I've worked with a handful of the staff (Mike and Mary, Emily, Audrey, Tina, Lori, and Shane) and they've all been great. They take detailed notes with each visit, so even when I'm handed off between team members, each person has been versed with my specific situation.

I asked for a paper copy of the referral but she refused saying BestMed would take care of it for me. She told me to call their referral coordinator on Tuesday. I left message Tues, Wed, Thurs. My calls have never been returned. On Wednes I went to Harlow Road to see my usual and wonderful Kristen. I explained I wanted a paper copy of the referral to an ENT so that I could call providers in Lane County and all the way to Portland as most local ones seem to be booked until December of Jan and all need a paper referral before scheduling you in the (far) future. Kristen said she did not have the paper work referral to copy for me. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH A HUMAN IN THE COBURG OFFICE AS NONE OF THEIR PHONE ANSWERING OPTIONS LED TO ONE. I called Harlow and demanded they send a paperwork referral and/or give me the number a referral coordinator would answer or return my call. The receptionist called me "rude" and became very "touchy". She put me on hold saying I was rude and she didn't want to talk to me. I HAVE A WITNESS TO THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION WHO WILL SWEAR UNDER OATH THAT I WAS BEING FIRM, NOT RUDE, AND SAID NOTHING RUDE OR IMPROPER. I just want the referral and to find an ENT myself as BESTMED has made NO progress in getting an appointment in four days. From what Kristen said, they called only one ENT source on Monday and still have no answer from the source. I am wondering if this BESTMed is getting a kickback from certain ENTs. Why have they not called other ENTs? They know I am in pain. Why won't they give me a paper copy of the referral, so I can find an ENT myself????? I paid for the visit, but I am effectively being denied my paperwork. WHY? Also I had asked about the prescription that Kristen said would be sent to Walmart on the day I saw her (Wednes) and which Walmart told me today they have NEVER received. The receptionist said, "Well send it again now." I asked when it was sent the first time of "again" and she admitted at that point it had not yet been sent a first time (24 hours after the appointment). I suggest you record ALL your calls, for every purpose, if you use any BestMed facility. Kristen is a WONDERFUL PA, but I have been in pain all week and still can't even get on an ENT's cancellation/waiting list because neither the Coburg nor the Harlow office seems willing/able to give me the referral on paper so I can find an ENT. This is the service/care I paid for???????????????? NOTE: A few hours after I posted this, I was pleased and surprised to receive a call from BestMed. It was Ashley who had accused me of being rude. She called to apologize. I accepted her apology, but that if she ever did this again, I would consider legal action under ADA Law as I am disabled. We all make mistakes. I do accept her apology. She also said that (miraculously as they couldn't do it when I twice requested it) she would provide a hard copy of the referral. I am going to drive down there tomorrow to pick it up. Then, after this five day wait for an URGENT/EMERGENCY REFERRAL, I can try to locate an ENT elsewhere in Corvallis, Albany, Portland etc. Oregon really is the Sahara Desert of specialist healthcare. I plan to record ALL future calls to this company and advise you to do the same.

I had to find this out from the pharmacy. My labwork from 1st week of September still hasn't been reviewed by the provider, and a week after the fact they sent me notification that I needed labwork done that I did a week prior. I have medication that I was prescribed that says "Need to complete outstanding labs before any further refills are given." Pretty sure these are the labs I already did. Meanwhile I am out of medication. They have a website messaging system, but don't bother. No one has answered any of my questions there. The communication process seems to be- tell the receptionist, who tells the provider, who tells the receptionist, who tells you. But only if you call. Don't expect them to call you. I'm supposed to have a DVT (blood clot) referral in progress. The first place they sent it is closing and said no. The second place said they didn't ever receive it despite the fact that I was told it was sent twice. I got a copy and hand delivered the referral myself and they said they didn't work with DVT there. I called the BestMed referral dept. a week ago and no one ever returned my call. So a month and half later I still don't have a working referral.

I was assigned to a massage therapist not a physical therapist or a PT associate. I only saw the PT once briefly my first visit. It is clear to me now that this woman is inexperienced with this type of injury. On my second visit she massaged my hamstring (where the tear is) so deeply that I had trouble walking for a few days and was so much worse. I told her that her massage made me worse, possibly damaged my tear and her response was, "I just kept going deeper because you weren't flinching". I actually was flinching she was just talking so much she didn't care to notice. Also that is not my job but actually hers. I told her I had avoided the hamstring stretch for a few days because of how much worse I was from the massage and I was worried the stretch might have also made it worse. Her response "The reason you injured it is because you aren't flexible, sorry to be harsh". She further elaborated that my doctor told me to stretch, which is true but he told me to do super light stretching for mobility purposes. She then told me to reach for my toes. (A super harsh stretch for the hamstring). Since this obviously would be terrible for my tear I told her I needed light stretching and that reaching for my toes would hurt me. I also asked about isometric exercises and exercises that would help with strengthening surrounding muscles. She seemed upset by my asking of this and then proceeded to have me bike and do 4 new exercises. I went from doing nothing to having an extreme amount of exercises with many sets. My muscles were not ready. My hamstrings were so sore that evening and the next day which is also super bad for recovery. Working a torn muscle to the point of being sore is bad for it. She should know that. I had trouble walking again because of her. I am still now worse. Im just so confused by this care. When I asked this woman also about my care and what the plan was for me from the PT I got no answers. this has been a super upsetting experience. This woman harmed my injury in a multitude of ways. I called and canceled all my appointments. I never saw an actual PT or an associate. I have never been to PT place ever where they just assign you to one massage therapist and you never see a PT or PT associate. Avoid this place if you can especially if you're a young person trying to recover and get back to sports.

It was keeping me from going up and downstairs, walking at my normal brisk pace, or even changing positions without sharp shooting pains. Mobility-wise, things were not going well. I met with Lizzy for two weeks, but then suspended in-person therapy when Covid-19 first struck. Later, we resumed appointments via tele-health. I am happy to say I am now completely pain-free, experience no numbness or tingling, and have resumed all the activities I was accustomed to before this began. Hooray! I am so very, very grateful for all she has done! Besides being a caring, experienced professional, what stands out to me about Lizzy is her intuitive sense and adaptability in charting a path forward. She clearly focused on evaluation of where I was and precisely targeted therapy to help. I thought my progress might be slow or only partial because of the interruption, the switch from in-person to telehealth, or my age (I'm 72) - but each week I was amazed at how much more I could do. I learned so much from her! Bottom line? I could not have been happier with my experience, and should I need physical therapy in the future, I will definitely contact Lizzy and Therapeutic Associates at Crescent! I recommend them both highly!

Not only am I walking again, I'm lifting weights, working out on the elliptical and hopefully soon will be conquering hiking and hills. Obviously, you get as much out of PT as you put into it, but without Chelsea's expert guidance I would not be where I am today. Unfortunately Megan is transitioning out of physical therapy and I was seen by Amber instead. Amber is overconfident and has an attitude. She touches your body with a towel in her hand while wearing gloves which is awkward. I was then charged for a no show because I showed up 12 minutes late for my appointment due to an accident that required me to reroute. I asked to have my appointments with Amber cancelled and to be seen by another therapist and was told I would be called by Megan. That did not happen and my appointments were not cancelled. I then asked for my records to be mailed to me. They were not and I had to call again and ask for them to be mailed to me. I finally received them and they included inappropriate comments making attacks against me personally from one of the staff members who had talked over me and was rude during my interactions with her. I then went to another physical therapist only to discover I had been misdiagnosed with having one leg longer than the other which I had gone to my orthotics specialist for a heel lift to fix which only created problems. I actually just have a minor hip misalignment. These people are rude, inflexible, intolerant, and do not know what they are doing.
