I booked a Tuesday 30min slot through Riverside Courthouse. I read a lot of peoples reviews the night before and I found them to be tippers to what to expect as this was not a "full blown" wedding that I was expecting anything more than vows. So for those who complained that they didn't get more than their 30 mins- they have offerings for Friday-Sunday through the church that you can do all the things you would maybe expect (decorating, throwing flower petals, full blown photo sessions). This is a HUGE step up from a courthouse wedding and by far the best option in the area if you just want to tie the knot and not be in a weird office space. Tippers: it's 30 mins, don't waste your time on the extras. They are unnecessary in the grand scheme of things- this church is vintage, beautiful in its own, and aesthetically all you need. When you get there the doors will be locked till a min or two before your time slot (if you knock or try to open the door- you are interrupting an ongoing wedding & security will tell you the same thing) At your time slot the pastor will text the booking persons number a link to make a payment for the slot ($142?) so be prepared with the card you want to put it on. This is starting your time slot & if you cannot get together that's part of your 30 mins. Once she receives the payment she will come out to have signatures on the marriage license paperwork (that you bring) and she needs identification from both parties. Options: you can pick to walk down how you want, I chose to have my dad walk me down as traditional. You can walk down separately, together, whatever you want. She really lets you do what you want from here on. She will ask if you want to play a song while you walk down and she will have you type it into the phone and it'll play over the speakers. She will ask you if you want traditional vows, if you want to say your own vows, or what have you. Because I read what people had to say, I asked a friend to come through and take photos (it's going to be a quick wedding, might as well have everyone not dread what they missed and still capture the cute moments). My friend was able to go up, down, around the aisles as he pleased to take a bunch of photos. I'd highly recommend this... setting up a tripod and having to trade off to take photos would have really taken too long in what we're allowed. The pastor was a sweet sweet lady! She laughed with us, made it really not stressful, and afterwards she files the marriage license paperwork for you!! So worth it! Once the vows are done she allows you the remaining of your time to take photos and we ended up trickling out 10 mins early. Again- highly recommend a photographer for your event. read more

Its a very small chapel. Good for a tiny wedding with a more intimate feel. Its not spectacularly beautiful outside or inside, but it feels comfortable. Thiel chapel definitely makes me feel old and boring. read more

I think getting married here for an elopement, with just yourself and your partner, and no guests, would be perfect. But to have a ceremony/wedding feel with decorations and your closest family & friends present, then this is not it. My cousin and her husband had their ceremony here. They booked through the Riverside Court Office. There are contradicting information between the clerks at the court office, court office's website, and the chapel's website. Per the court office's website, ceremonies can only be held on weekdays Mon-Thurs and has to be booked in person. When my cousins arrived to the office, the clerk told them the chapel has to be booked online but was courteous enough to book it in person for them. I also noticed on the chapel's website that it stated they actually can hold ceremonies on the weekends. My cousins already booked a weekday ceremony, but it would've been efficient if all information were aligned across all platforms. They're more responsive via email with detailed information about the ceremony, do's and don'ts, and pricing. Just like every other review, it is true they are strict on time. You only get a 30 min time slot - not a minute more or less. Within those 30 min, you'll have to haul a-- if you plan on decorating, setting up cameras, etc. Oh and you have to clean everything too. WITHIN your time slot. Unless you have a full team with a game plan and everyone knows exactly what they're doing, then you'll be fine (but still flustered). If not, the stress and frustration will ruin the day. We thought we had a game plan, but it was so chaotic that nothing went to plan. A wedding coordinator is mandatory when you book a weekend appointment. You're on your own if you book a weekday appointment. Since they booked a weekday appointment, there is no hospitality whatsoever with the exception of the security guard. The security guard was nice and let us know when to enter and how much time we had left. We arrived around 15:45, and our time slot was at 16-16:30. The doors remain locked until your time slot. The officiant, Hilda B., pretty much escalated every situation. She was not welcoming when we arrived. She went straight to the point and asked for their marriage license, witness, identifications, etc. While they were going over the information, my family and I rushed to set up the decorations. The security guard advised us that we should start on the decorations since Hilda didn't give the rest of us any information. While we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to set up the decorations, Hilda came out and said we couldn't throw flower petals down the aisle. The email did say we weren't allowed to have flower petals because there's no custodial on site. We did it anyway bc I knew we still had to clean it up ourselves. I replied to Hilda that we'll clean it after, and her response was "okay sure, if you want to take up your time doing that." My justification is that if you're not offering to provide any assistance with setting up AND you're telling us we have to clean everything up ourselves, then don't tell us how or what we can decorate. Hilda came back out shortly after and told us we were starting. Without any warning mind you. We had to drop everything and take our seats. The groom was called up. Music of their choice was played. We waited for my cousin to walk down the aisle. She came out of the bathroom completely unaware the ceremony had started because Hilda didn't tell her when she was going to start the ceremony. She rushed down the aisle without her bouquet and without her parents by her side. Hilda officiated the ceremony in less than 5 minutes. They were not allowed to say their own vows due to the timing, but they were able to say the basic vows. After the ceremony, Hilda was nowhere to be found. We had the remaining time to take photos quickly. The security guard told us how much time we had left. We also had to quickly take down the decor and sweep the flower petals. Overall, the chapel was well kept. Hospitality needs to improve. I don't recommend court weddings because it'll be rushed and leave you feeling flustered. read more

First visit to attend a wedding. Clean, quaint/intimate facility, with good acoustics. Good for small and medium sized events. Everything was clean. Private parking lots with easy handicap ramp access to the front of the chapel. Overall, a good experience. read more

I had my wedding at this chapel and what I can say is, this chapel is very beautiful and well maintained. The space is easy to find and parking isn't all that complicated. Overall the officiated ceremony itself was very nice thought short only about a 10 minute ordeal which left us with 20 minutes to fill for photos, words of appreciation etc. The only issues I ran into was the demeanor of the officiator prior to starting the ceremony. When we went in to do our ceremony it seemed as thought any uncertainty on our behalf in regards to the wedding song, the walk down the aisle, or the preference for language of the ceremony itself was met with a petulant grunt. Furthermore before we started the ceremony me and my partner felt rushed to begin the ceremony by the officiator. Furthermore the security guard that was present at the chapel had a rude demeanor. Once we approached our time limit we were quickly and rudely rushed out of the chapel. Keep in mind when we were rushed out we hadn't even received our marriage license back from the officiator. It wasn't until we were about to leave that the security guard rushed out to hand it to us. On one hand I understand that there are others that reserve time slots for their wedding ceremonies. However, basic respect and treatment is something that should be practiced at businesses like these not to mention a certain amount of sensitivity. It's something to keep in mind especially because these are special moments that for some only happen once in a lifetime. read more

This is such a beautiful chapel for a wedding! My niece got married here, and she booked it through the Riverside Court. The package included a wedding coordinator and an officiant, which made everything so much easier. The chapel itself is absolutely charming, intimate, elegant, and perfect for a romantic ceremony. The venue itself is beautiful and well-kept, but the management? Yikes. They made the whole experience frustrating to say the least. They are extremely strict with timing and the minute we went over, they hit us with an outrageous fee. Mind you, there were no other events even happening that day. I've worked with plenty of venues, including larger wedding spaces, and I've never seen such a lack of flexibility or grace. Most places understand that things don't always run perfectly on schedule, but not here! :) On top of that, they told us we could set up some decor during rehearsal, only to make us pack everything back up right after. Instead of being supportive and doing what they could to make things easier, they added unnecessary stress to a process that's already busy and emotional. At the end of the day, they come across as more focused on making a check than being hospitable and guest-friendly. If you're looking for flexibility, kindness, or a team that actually wants to help make your day flow smoothly, I'd save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

Contrary to all the elopement post they have on their Instagram account, this chapel has the worst team possible. They are the least accommodating and the absolute worst to work with. My cousin got married here recently and for a venue that is marketed for wedding ceremonies, I was surprised at the lack of hospitality and compassion the coordinators had for someone's big day. They rushed us during the rehearsal dinner and told us they would charge 150 for time spent over, told us we could leave things at the venue only to tell us we needed to take everything out as we were exiting, gave us only 30 minutes of set up time before they let people in, and kicked us out 30 minutes earlier than the time we were allotted while the bride + groom were getting family pictures (on the day of the wedding.) I can go on about how terrible their service was but all just leave it at this - the venue was beautiful but their team was not. Please reconsider getting married here read more

Our appointment (I was the bride) was scheduled for 11am, but we arrived early and us and our guests were waiting outside. The security guard asked what time the appointment was, one of our guests said 11. He said oh the 10:30am cancelled you guys can come wait inside. Well that was not okay with the officiant. She started yelling at us, asking us what made us think we had the right to extra time. Yelling at my husband, my mom, etc. She was so irritated, but we would have happily waited outside until 11am when we were scheduled. We didn't ask to go in early, it all happened so fast some of our guests missed it. She ended up telling my husband she should have had us wait till 11. And he said yeah we would have. We were so rushed, and the officiant was so rude and unhappy during our ceremony. It made that part of the experience horrible. The officiant's name is HILDA BARRAZA-ORTIZ. So highly suggest if they tell you or your guests you can come sit early, say you'll wait. Not worth it. read more

We went through the Riverside county clerk and booked the chapel during the week for an amazing price!!! 30 mins in the chapel you get to walk down and choose your song 20/10 recommend. They had the best staff ever and made our wedding day so memorable and magnificent. I recommend this place for anyone looking to elope yet still have that wedding day feel if your looking for something a little more extra than just a court house elopement. read more
