This doubletree is adjacent to a few local restaurants, as well as, a neighboring drive-thru only Starbucks and few major fast-food chains. There is a U-driveway that makes it easy for dropoff and a side gated parking lot that guests can use. I really appreciate the level of safety they implement at night for their guests as they are key-card only entries. The staff is pretty attentive if you do not have a key which obviously occurs at late-night check-in (which indeed happened to moi). DoubleTree San Bernardino features a little market, convention rooms, a large bar/family restaurant for folks staying. For Hilton Gold members they offer a daily F&B credit which is nice. I really enjoyed the open seating throughout the lobby where you can work or simply hang out. The hotel rooms are pretty standard, nothing crazy yet nothing horrific. Carpet isn't my personal favorite in a room but I always travel with flip flops for such scenarios. If you're able to, request a room in the nearby elevator which makes it that much easier to go up-and-down. All in all, a solid stay and they have a pool as well for the weather.

This made it impossible to relax or sleep, and I had no choice but to check out early. No guest should have to leave a hotel they paid for because the room is uninhabitable. What is even more concerning is that after looking at other reviews, I saw multiple guests reporting the same marijuana issue. This clearly shows it is an ongoing problem that management has not properly addressed. Although another room was offered, it was late at night and not reasonable to move, especially with my granddaughter. At that point, the damage to our stay was already done. A non-smoking hotel should enforce its policies and ensure guests are not exposed to smoke. I paid for a service that was not delivered. I am requesting a full refund for the night that was impacted, as well as the return of my deposit. This is the fair and reasonable resolution. If this is not handled appropriately, I will continue to escalate this matter and share my experience on multiple platforms.

I will start this review off by saying…read morethat I photograph weddings, so having a gorgeous scenic spot to marry my boyfriend/fiancé of 11 years was the #1 on our list and The Pond (+ the overcast weather haha) DELIVERED. And the #2 thing on the list was having a variety of backdrops to photograph against which we also found here no question. We first toured The Pond and met with Bonnie (the owner) back in September 2022. We had already toured 5 other venues and this ended up being our second to last tour and last day of touring. The second I stepped on the premise I knew we had found our place. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking, and well taken care of. The pond is also full of bright koi fish and other cute little friends like ducks walk around. I felt like we were already late in booking a 2023 date, but to our luck they had May 5, 2023 open which was also 11th anniversary! Easy and done. This hidden gem venue has charm and is the most unique and scenic venue I've ever been to. The main selling points for us in addition to the views were: 1. Full Bridal and Groom houses to relax and get ready in. We each had 8 bridesmaids and groomsmen + our family so it was very important to us that we could find a place that could accommodate our large party to get ready in. They also have separate parking for the wedding party right next to the Bridal/Groom houses and another larger parking lot for guests which is also free for them 2. Fun and unique areas for all of our guests to spread out and explore. Including the gazebo overlooking the pond, fire pit (for s'mores), and cove underneath the gazebo to experience a waterfall. There was also a ton of space for all our vendors to set up including a Boba Table and Photobooth 3. Affordable price that included 1 hour rehearsal the day before, 10 hours on the premise for the wedding, and our package also included the DJ and Bartender team. This was great because those vendors are already used to working with Bonnie's team and DJ Richie killed our lighting throughout the venue as well! They also set up heat lamps for us when it got colder at night 4. DIY everything! I have been looking forward to planning my wedding my whole life and had a lot of decoration and vendor ideas. Bonnie and our Coordinator team (YourDayYourWay) helped make all our ideas and plans come to life and were gracious about accommodating everything we asked for including keeping the sails down in the ceremony space for our photos, letting us do special cups for boba, and letting us choose our catering (5 Elementos Food Truck). The whole event was 100% customized by us and this was so cool since I know a lot of venues have strict rules they never bend. And for anyone who may be deterred reading this because they don't want to DIY everything, I promise the venue still looks great just as it is even without all the extra stuff. Seriously! 5. They allow sparkler exits! I attended an event as a chaperone with the kids from Micah House, and from the moment you walk in, the Burrage Mansion is stunning. The steps leading up to the home and the beautifully preserved historic house immediately set the tone. The property owner generously hosts events here, and one of the annual events is a Christmas celebration for elementary school kids. He opens up the entire estate for the children to enjoy crafts, a magic show, bounce houses, and even a visit with Santa Claus. There are also two rooms filled with presents where each child gets to choose a gift, which was incredibly special to see. It was such a thoughtful, joyful, and memorable experience for everyone involved. I'm not sure what other events are hosted here, but based on this experience alone, the Burrage Mansion absolutely deserves five stars.
