This place goes above and beyond to make you happy. We just had my daughter's wedding here. What a beautiful wedding it was. Honestly I couldn't have done it without Amy and all the people who work here. My guests were raving about how nice the staff was. They work with you and they want your event to be the best. I can't say enough. You won't regret it!!

Conveniently located just south of the 10 freeway in the charming city of Redlands, The Mitten Building is secluded from the noise and hustle-and-bustle of a typical downtown area. The Mitten Building delivers a perfect location for anyone looking for a romantic, vintage setting. From the wood and brick walls, high-vaulted fabric-draped ceilings, a sophisticated and long dark-wood bar, to an upstairs [ceremony] loft overlooking the main floor below, The Mitten Building is sure to create a timeless look for your wedding. Its natural charm is enough to impress all of your guests --- and even your vendors! If that's not enough, The Mitten Building also has a smaller "modern" banquet room (without all the wood and brick) suited for add-ons to your liking. As a Wedding Coordinator for one of my clients, The Mitten Building was a perfect venue to keep all the guests entertained: * The lovely bride I worked with had a room she used as the BRIDAL SUITE, where her bridesmaids gathered and while the photographers got creative to take beautiful pictures. * The upstairs LOFT was initially used to hold the Wedding Ceremony, which (later in the evening) was cleared off so that the DJ could set up to look over the guests and event happenings. * The MAIN FLOOR itself set a romantic/vintage atmosphere complete with rounded tables, folded wooden chairs, draped ceilings, and the wooden dancefloor. * The downstairs BAR area was large enough for a photobooth, with easy access to the parking lot. The masculine bar created a sophisticated and timeless look, accompanied with a display case of memorabilia and glass-topped wooden cocktail tables. * The RESTROOMS were kept clean throughout the wedding and were readily available at both the bar area and main floor. * The STAFF was friendly and easy to work with at my request. * Just outside of the venue is an old RAILROAD TRACK perfect for taking photos of your bridal party. Overall, this is a beautiful gem in downtown Redlands that will have all your guests talking and provide you with a memorable event! :)

Grease congealed bacon at a weekly Mitten Building meeting.

I meet weekly here for a networking breakfast. The Mitten Building provides the space, tables, chairs and breakfast. When our group started meeting here, we were charged a flat fee. A employee cleared our plates, so we didn't have dirty dishes in front of us during our meeting and was to refill the water and coffee and also there if we needed anything, such as a pot of tea. The breakfast was of at least average to good quality and a decent variety. I actually loved the handmade sausage with spices. Most people found something they enjoyed in the breakfast. If members needed to stay later to meet further, it was not a problem. Our group felt it was a good value. Fast forward about 3 years later. Now, we are charged a higher flat fee for a minimum number of people, which our group occasionally goes below. If our group is over that minimum, we are charged per head. There is no longer an employee present to clear our plates, so we have dirty dishes sitting there for the entire meeting. If we need something, like a pot of tea, salt, water, etc., there is no one to provide it. Now the food is of low to below average quality. Hash browns are somewhat uncooked and cold. Pancakes feel stale and tough, as though they had been made at least a day before. Bacon (shown) is cold and congealed with fat, making it in-edible. Sausage no longer handmade, is chopped up kielbasa that is usually under or overcooked. Many people do not eat because the food is so unappetizing. We are shooed out at 15 minutes past our meeting time. We are paying way too much for bad food and no service. I do not recommend this place for ongoing meetings. The price will increase as service and food quality decreases. Not good business!

My friends had their wedding here and it was the most beautiful and intimate wedding we have ever gone to! Everything about the place was so magical! It was fairytale like. If you're looking for a nice venue, this is the place! They had a bar on the third floor which was great. The venue was very spacious. The food was amazing too!

As a coordinator, it's always important to find venues that are not only beautiful, but very accommodating. The Mitten building not only offers years of history in its structure, but its staff is well equipped to make any event run smoothly from start to finish! With two rooms to choose from, in house Catering and a built in bar, you're halfway done with the planning of your event once you book with The Mitten.

My friend got married today! Cute rustic vibe!. Has a really good location for photos. Parking was free and easy. The room was very spacious, staff wore masks.

I had my wedding here on October 27th. From day one with this venue it was nothing but positives. They work with you on so many things and are very accommodating. My aunt who was on a strict diet because of her cancer they were able to cater to her and made sure that she could eat. The staff was very attentive to detail as they were helping my coordinator set up. I gave them a lot to do because of all the details but let me tell you I couldn't be happier and my guests loved everything. I did the sit down meal option which was great and gave me and my husband time to walk around and talk to our guests. I highly recommend the dj they suggest which is DJ Paul. He is amazing!!! He keeps the flow going of the wedding and works with you on everything. He worked with me up until the day of with a song I prepared for my husband. But you won't be disappointed with him at all. He is amazing. Now to talk about my coordinator Jennifer. She works for the mitten and you hire her out separately. But she makes it worth the extra money. Because of her I was stress free the whole time. She brought my vision to life and made sure everyone was taken care of. she made the evening run smooth and it helps that she works there so she already knows everyone and everything and she knows the dj very well so that helps too. If you have her and the dj you are in for one amazing and stress free night. Thank you Jennifer for making my night amazing! You will never know how much that means to me. Oh and for saving some of my decoration you knew I wanted when my guests started taking them so early lol. Let's just say you guys won't be disappointed in this venue. My experience with everyone was amazing and everyone is so helpful and sweet. Thank you everyone at the mitten for everything. I posted some pictures so you can see some of what I had the staff set up for me. They did so much and just made it look amazing!!!

    A class act...

We fell in love with the Mitten Building at first sight! We booked our daughter's wedding here, and couldn't be more pleased with the entire process. The price was in her budget, and not only was the rustic brick and wood perfect,as she wanted a certain look and feel to the wedding. The staff was always attentive to our questions, and we want to give a shout out to Mary and Landon who helped us with all the details! Jenn and RJ were the best bartenders as well... the evening went smoothly, and the serving staff helped so much during the ceremony and reception! The food is the best... there was plenty of choices, and the mexican menu we chose was awesome! Thank you Mitten Building staff!

It's an old historic citrus packing plant converted into a venue for wedding, reception, prom and other parties...it doesn't look my much from the outside but it is pretty cool on the inside. I came here yesterday for my friend's daughter's wedding. They are a young couple so they went with a red, black and white color scheme which turned out really nice (see cool photos) Everything went perfectly well except for the bartender from the Boiler Room www.yelp.com/biz/MiQNi2-SOq3MuIMdsrWwnw?fsid=QSuMxZ5N7LFMZ3plAAM6qg Parking is plenty and this place is about half of the price you would pay in LA...really inexpensive. www.mittenbuilding.com

My wife and I had our wedding and reception at the Mitten Building this past January. From the moment she and I set foot in the Mitten, we new that our search for a venue was over. The space is unreal, and the staff is so nice. On a recommendation, we made the drive out to Redlands to check it out. Best. Decision. Ever. During the planning process, Josh, Victoria, and the entire team were incredibly helpful and responsive. They never turned us down to come look at the venue and scope out what we wanted to do or where we wanted to put decorations. They were up for anything! No nickel and dime-ing for every little detail, the pricing breakdown was all upfront and clear. The day of the wedding could not have gone any more smoothly. They say that something will always go wrong, well I literally can't think of a single thing that did. Shout out to Daryl. Daryl is the guy, the one guy, who hangs all of the lights and decorations and basically, makes whatever the couple envisions come true. We asked to hang market lights in the loft, something they had never done before, and it was no problem - not to mention it looked great! Daryl is, quite simply, the man. During the event, the staff they had serving the food, bartending, and making sure things went smoothly did an amazing job. A few examples, the lighted "BAR" sign we brought in ourselves went out, and one of the staff was right on it making sure it worked again. Just before our cake-cutting, a young staffer was rushing to re-stock the desserts "so the pictures look good." Are you kidding me!? So unbelievably helpful, thoughtful, and kind. I only wish that in the hustle of it all we had gotten their names, because it was the little details like that which helped to make the day and night so memorable. Overall, I cannot recommend the Mitten Building enough as the venue for your next event.

I'm 3 days short of 1 year late but I don't care. The Mitten was absolutely FABULOUS! I'm actually working on writing a 'Thank You' card because the staff was that great. Our wedding was May 9, 2014. We had around 125 guests in attendance and everyone said they loved the venue. Our theme was rustic chic. The chandeliers really dress up the main room and that's why I loved it. When my mom and I were searching for venues, we came across the Mitten. I told her I wanted something that wasn't your run of the mill banquet hall. I wanted some charm. And that's exactly what we got. Initially, we thought about using the secondary room because our wedding was small. But then, we decided to go for the main room because we could space out the guest tables nicely. We opted for catering by the Farm -- one of their recommended caterers. And the food was AMAZING! I remember it like it was yesterday! We had the braised chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes (to die for), and salad. Sophia (of the Farm) was who we dealt with and she was a doll. Seriously, everyone LOVED the food. A lot of people went back for seconds. Unfortunately, as the bride I didn't have that luxury :( LOL. At the end of the night, the staff washed the chargers and boxed them for us, as well. A-1 service! Jami, the in-house florist did the arrangements for us. We had 3 bouquets (1 for me, and 2 for each of my bridesmaids) and 6 boutonnieres made from succulents. They all came out lovely. And I'll post photos when I get to my laptop. Jami and my mom helped execute my vision, even though sometimes I had trouble articulating it and bombarded them with so many photos. LOL. Overall, we had a lovely experience at the Mitten. It's a great, historic gem in Downtown Redlands that I'm more than happy I found. I'd recommend this venue to anyone who'll listen. Who knows, maybe we'll have our baby shower here!

The lunch at the mitten building is wonderful! The food is fresh and very reasonably priced! The service was prompt and helpful. We had a pork belly salad which of course was on the fatty side but very tasty and a Caperse sandwhich which had very generous portions of mozzarella on a crispy roll. Followed up by Mexican wedding cookies at 2@ $1 / a great lunch for a great price!

Do yourself a favor and check this place out... Best kept secret for lunch in Redlands!!! Pork Belly Sandwich to die for, Meat Loaf Sandwich to die for, Chicken Sandwich is awesome and try the pickled Veggies! Perfect portion sizes, amazing flavours and really, really good prices. Next to the boiler room.

Loved this venue for the wedding!…read more Small-ish, intimate space, for a medium sized wedding (~135 at this wedding). The catering, which I believe was done by an in-house husband and wife couple, was better than expected. The herb chicken, which my cousin said came highly- recommended, was tasty and juicy. The tri-tip was also solid, and cooked to medium as it should be. The wedding coordinator Katie, who came included with the venue, was amazing! My cousin, the bride, kept saying how great Katie was, and how helpful she was during the process. My cousin frequently remarked, "we trust her so much", which is great. Also, as a first time wedding officiant, she really made it easy for me. Also, Morgan the DJ, another venue provided vendor, was great to work with. The venue is on the second floor, which can be a challenge or an absolute deal breaker for some. They do have a chair lift though, which several of our attendees used to get upstairs. Parking could be a challenge, as the venue is located in historic downtown Redlands. According to my cousin, parking at the CVS was allowed, but I'd double check with the venue. We had a Friday night wedding, and I heard no complaints about parking. Thank you to the cast and crew at Speakeasy on State.

I will start this review off by saying…read morethat I photograph weddings, so having a gorgeous scenic spot to marry my boyfriend/fiancé of 11 years was the #1 on our list and The Pond (+ the overcast weather haha) DELIVERED. And the #2 thing on the list was having a variety of backdrops to photograph against which we also found here no question. We first toured The Pond and met with Bonnie (the owner) back in September 2022. We had already toured 5 other venues and this ended up being our second to last tour and last day of touring. The second I stepped on the premise I knew we had found our place. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking, and well taken care of. The pond is also full of bright koi fish and other cute little friends like ducks walk around. I felt like we were already late in booking a 2023 date, but to our luck they had May 5, 2023 open which was also 11th anniversary! Easy and done. This hidden gem venue has charm and is the most unique and scenic venue I've ever been to. The main selling points for us in addition to the views were: 1. Full Bridal and Groom houses to relax and get ready in. We each had 8 bridesmaids and groomsmen + our family so it was very important to us that we could find a place that could accommodate our large party to get ready in. They also have separate parking for the wedding party right next to the Bridal/Groom houses and another larger parking lot for guests which is also free for them 2. Fun and unique areas for all of our guests to spread out and explore. Including the gazebo overlooking the pond, fire pit (for s'mores), and cove underneath the gazebo to experience a waterfall. There was also a ton of space for all our vendors to set up including a Boba Table and Photobooth 3. Affordable price that included 1 hour rehearsal the day before, 10 hours on the premise for the wedding, and our package also included the DJ and Bartender team. This was great because those vendors are already used to working with Bonnie's team and DJ Richie killed our lighting throughout the venue as well! They also set up heat lamps for us when it got colder at night 4. DIY everything! I have been looking forward to planning my wedding my whole life and had a lot of decoration and vendor ideas. Bonnie and our Coordinator team (YourDayYourWay) helped make all our ideas and plans come to life and were gracious about accommodating everything we asked for including keeping the sails down in the ceremony space for our photos, letting us do special cups for boba, and letting us choose our catering (5 Elementos Food Truck). The whole event was 100% customized by us and this was so cool since I know a lot of venues have strict rules they never bend. And for anyone who may be deterred reading this because they don't want to DIY everything, I promise the venue still looks great just as it is even without all the extra stuff. Seriously! 5. They allow sparkler exits! Weddings are held on the edge of a beautiful pond, surrounded by an orange and avocado grove with the San Bernardino mountains providing the perfect backdrop. The staff could not have been better practiced, more accommodating and easy going. Everything was picture perfect. And, the facility is very reasonably priced. The venue features a very spacious and comfortable bride and groom cottages for the wedding party to prepare for the event. It also features a rustic but extremely welcoming metal roof covered reception hall, dance floor, bar and adjacent covered fire pit. You will need to cater everything but you can save money by bringing your own alcohol and employing a Pond recommended bartender or bringing in food trucks. There is also a great Marriott Residence Inn a few miles away that is perfect and convenient for out of town guests. All of our guests raved about the Pond. You will too.
