My Fiancé and I really wanted to do our wedding reception locally here at the Fox Theatre.. We have lived in Redlands for 15 years.. and have heard and been to previous events and weddings.. But Not now! Don"t trust this place to give you a fair or accurate quote or experience for a wedding reception or a clear enough picture of a great experience or outcome. New ownership is very unprofessional and un prepared. We asked for a tour and instead of letting us know they were remodeling prior to our visit and upgrading to unknowns they still walked us around with no clear picture of what was really changing and or happening. When we walked in they didn't know why we were originally there but yet we had an appointment. We were also very disappointed in the quote which was originally hand written with no clear picture or vendor choices and a horrible menu choice for food options, one page pamphlet, etc. We asked for all inclusive in our first visit, which in first quote we thought was written out, but in our second visit they said it wasn't and had to ask for another quote to be emailed. In the 2nd quote it was also an unprofessional layout and not prepared with very little detail and lots of unknowns and no specifics on vendors for fresh flowers or other vendor options as we requested etc.. leaving us very upset, as we will now be looking outside of are area. The highlight we were shown in the 2nd visit was a new lighting feature with flying dolphins which we don't care for in our wedding reception. Very laughable to be honest and unprofessional. Don't bother getting accurate figures and a promising outcome for a wedding here. We had our wedding here 1/4/2020. The location is beautiful and historic, has a really old fashioned vibe, which I love. Michelle and Richard were so helpful, especially to someone like me who is unsure of anything and has a million questions! They were flexible and patient with us, as well as accommodating. The day of our wedding was seamless! Perfectly organized. The food was awesome (Italian menu), the drinks were flowing & our guests reported that they had a great time. We also had our rehearsal dinner here the night before which was so convenient and stress free. I highly recommend taking advantage of that option. We also used the their in-house DJ, David and he was also awesome. So easy to work with and really did an excellent job with sound, music, and lighting. The Fox was amazing through the entire process. We found them online and did a tour, I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere of the place. The more I interacted with the people there the more I loved it as well. We mostly worked with Richard and he was the best! He was available by phone and by text and would respond within a few hours of each text I sent. We were allowed to come back several times to take additional looks and get more details and ideas for the day of and to let our family tour the place as well once we had decided it was the one. I loved their package, it is almost all inclusive. They provided everything except the cake/dessert, photographer, attire, and stationary/signage (save the dates, invitations, thank you cards, welcome sign, any timeline or seating chart signs). We also used their in-house DJ for his DJ and lighting and it was the best decision. He was professional and helpful as well. He was so worth the money, he kept the night going and all the lighting really helped pull the whole room together. I do not have a single complaint for this place and I have no idea what would have made them better. I cannot say enough good things about the Fox or the people that work there. Everyone we came in contact with day of from Richard and Michelle to the waiters were all fabulous. They all worked so hard and worked well together to make the evening the best night of my life. My now husband and I loved everything about the night and the experience, it's been a little over 2 months and we still discuss how wonderful the Fox was to us and our guests. We must be the most fortunate people in the world to have stumbled upon this place. My husband and I were looking for something unique for our wedding, and when we came across the Fox we knew it was exactly what we wanted. An old theatre, the venue is basically a stage with a cleared-out orchestra area where you can hold almost any event you could think of. And where another venue might just provide you an empty space, the Fox had many of the things needed to host our wedding and reception (chairs, tables, plates, chargers, dinnerware, centerpieces, as well as linens and napkins in a large variety of color combinations). Our main point of contact throughout the process was Richard who was very easy to talk to. Richard, explained everything very clearly, and answered every question we had. We felt no detail was overlooked and each minute detail that could have been offered was presented to us. Richard always made himself available and returned messages promptly on the few instances where he was not immediately available (also, Michelle, who seemed to run things when Richard wasn't present, was also quick with response time). We felt like a valued member of the family from day one and Richard was even present during the actual event (helping at the bar...just in case something came up). On the business end, Richard was very easy going and understanding in regards to setting up payments for us. Normally they book 6 months in advance, but because we booked closer than six months in advance (total and complete stroke of luck), they worked out an easy and reasonable solution for our payments and didn't pressure or hound us for payments when they were due. They kept a binder specifically for us and made sure that we were kept up to speed when a payment was made. We were made aware of every possible cost that was expected on our end and were never caught off guard with a "surprise cost." The venue was always willing to work with us with regards to bringing in and applying our own decor. Everything the venue had specific control over went perfectly on the night in question. The staff made sure that we and our guests were comfortable throughout the entire event. They were all so friendly and accommodating to us and our guests. Additionally, the food that was offered by the Fox was wonderful and better than one might imagine with a buffet style offering. And in addition to taste, there was more than enough food for everyone, and anyone was able to go back and eat their fill. Honestly, you expect stuff to go wrong when you have large events, and things did go wrong... but it didn't have anything to do with the Fox. When the actual venue provides you with the confidence and reliability the Fox does, it's one large burden to be free of and it allows you to concentrate on other, smaller details for your own event. Had my wedding here last October . Could not be happier. They made everything a lot less stressful. I had reserve for 200 guess and there was plenty of space. One of the things that my friends are still talking about is the food. It was delicious and there was so much left overs that people took some home. I had a same day edit videographer and they provided me with a projector to show it in the big screen at the end of the wedding for for everyone to see. None of my friends can believe how much we paid for it. We could've easily spent double for half of the guess we had. Set up and clean up was included. We just went there then left. I had to mention that cause most of the weddings that we attended had to pack up and clean up their tables and i always felt bad for the bride and groom when I see them packing everything up that we had to help all the time. I'm so glad that I wandered in here to use the ATM after getting my haircut next door! I went twice this week, two nights in a row, to see The Graduate and Fast Times at Ridgemont High respectively. Tickets are $10. My friends and I got a table right up near the screen and kicked back, bought a bottle of wine ($18, not a bad price at all. They also have mixed drinks and beers for about $5) and enjoyed the show! They also serve dinner for an additional $10, we took advantage of this the second night. For $10 we got a plate of potatoes and a cheeseburger and a carafe of ice water, not a GREAT meal but definitely a solid burger and being served home-cooked meals in a movie theater is a novel enough experience for it to be worth it. Other nights they were serving ribs, roast chicken... definitely will be trying one of those options another time. They also serve your typical movie concessions... but at a fair price, no arm-and-leg popcorn here! You could probably get your ticket and some snacks for about $15 all-told. They show film on 35mm, and the prints of the two films we saw were in great shape. The sound was a bit hissy for The Graduate, but perfect for Fast Times, and the overall quality of audio/visual side of things was very good. The audience was small (not more than 25 people per night) and a fun crowd, people were drinking and cat calling during Fast Times. Good times, and nothing that would distract you from just enjoying the movie if you're a cinephile (I would consider myself a SOCIAL cinephile, so I loved the little bit of community). Upcoming films include Psycho, Alien, Sleepwalk With Me (a more recent selection) and a few other good choices. I'll be there for every single film they've currently announced, its a great lineup. They also have comedy shows and a few other types of events, I'm mostly interested in the films personally. They also do private events but again, I haven't looked into that aspect of the Fox much myself. The building is also great, its been recently restored (to my understanding) and is just a neat place to be. The lobby has a sweeping ballroom style red carpeted grand stairway... its just a cool place. The kind of place that too often gets torn down instead of renovated and re-opened. Finally, the people who own and work the Fox are an all around nice group. My friend had an extra ticket that he couldn't use on our first night there, and they remembered us the next night and let him in for free. The owner Jeff is a really friendly guy and comes around before the film to personally make sure everyone is content. I only briefly met the chef, but him and the concessions vendor are both friendly and competent. read more

Just attended a beautiful wedding here. Located in the heart of downtown Redlands, this venue has a Classic theatre vibe throughout it. Upon entry there were a set of beautiful dual staircases on opposing sides. Everything about the decor was antique like and really carried a Broadway venue flair. The wedding itself was beautiful, the lighting was perfect set upon a stage where the bride and groom took their vows. I loved the seating arrangement for both the ceremony and reception. There was an ample amount of staff and they were extremely attentive. The food was actually pretty good and the buffet style option really added to the personalization of the meal. The was also an option of champagne and cider for the toast at every table which I thought was great. Overall the venue space provided room for creativity and comfort for the guests. For anyone considering a wedding venue, this place is pretty decent. Especially for those who are movie lovers or theatre lovers, this place would be great for you. My husband and I had our wedding here recently, and we both agree that having it at the Fox Event Center was such a great decision! First off, the entire staff is wonderful to work with. They were very easy going and always willing to work with your wants/needs. The manager, Eddie, was such an amazing and very friendly guy. He definitely worked with us on every detail of the wedding ... From changing the seating/ceremony set up last minute, to making sure everything was how I wanted it before guests arrived. Hesh, the cook, was also easy and great to work with. He definitely accommodated all menu types (vegetarian and vegan) and makes one mean Filet Mignon! Suzanne, the past Manager, also helped tremendously in the beginning stages of our wedding process! And David, the DJ & Lighting Tech, was a blast to work with as well. I was recently a part of an amazing photo shoot at this beautiful and historic venue! When our group-head told us about this venue, I was excited to be a part of such a historic place! The outside reminded me walking back in time to how theaters used to be; very well kept and enticing appearance. Inside, was the same; nostalgia swept across my mind, as I walked up the spiral staircase (one on each side) and went to the upper area where there were several sitting areas and two glamorous powder rooms. Very spacious, clean and era! Inside the main theater, it was spacious and had many beautiful focal pieces that definitely "screamed" period-piece, and again, very spacious, clean and accomodating. I would highly recommend considering this venue for any mid to large social gathering where the host is extremely gracious, the venue is large, clean and screams California Nostalgia, and has all of the appropriate accomodations for all guests. Just came here over the weekend for a childhood friends wedding. The wedding itself was nice but this venue....ohhh boy. I have no idea how it got so many stars. Maybe because it's slim pickings in the inland empire? The sidewalk is crumbling outside,loose rocks all over the sidewalk made it challenging to walk in my heels. Inside was old, dirty and stuffy, with everything from the decor, to the "bar", to the walls (color looks old), to the space for a small 100 person wedding (at the most, was prob more like 80 people). The bathroom stall I was in was so hard to lock! Only one old sink in there to top it off, and two stalls. The room where the ceremony and the reception was seemed old, the chairs were sticky and rickety. Tables seemed pretty packed in there for the amount of people we had. I only gave two stars bc #1. the bar drinks weren't too expensive and the pour was decent and #2, the historical significance of the old theater was kind cool. Looking to renew my vows but def won't consider this place as an option. read more

This is a unique and fun venue. Though my fiancé and I did not go with them for our wedding, I was greatly impressed with Ida and her customer service. She happily showed me around the venue, answered all of my questions and wrote me up a quote for one of the most reasonable priced venues I came across. My husband and I absolutely loved our wedding at The Fox Banquet & Event Center and are so grateful for the exceptional service we received not only the day of the wedding, but throughout the entire process. Our wedding was April 14, 2018. We learned about this venue visiting the Bridal Expo in Riverside. My husband and I both felt the venue was so beautiful. I initially thought it would be too expensive, but soon learned it is such an amazing value. In researching venues primarily in the Riverside county area and parts of San Bernardino County, we found that the Fox offered so much value in comparison to its competitors. The pricing was comparable, but so much more was included with the Fox, almost all inclusive. We had a 3 year engagement and they were gracious enough to allow us to sign a contract almost 3 years in advance, offering us a saving as prices generally increase every year. Every encounter we had with The Fox's staff was excellent. Their customer service exceeds any vendor I have ever done business with. They are extremely friendly and accommodating. They truly care about their customers and they ensured that everything was perfect on our special day. I am a person that always wants to over purchase afraid that we will come short, but our event coordinator Richard always made recommendations based on his experience to bring my contract to what I needed so that I wouldn't overspend. I have never come across a salesperson who looks out for the customer's interest more than them making a profit. I was extremely impressed. Richard was so quick to respond to e-mails and phone calls which relieves so much stress in the wedding planning process. He was always willing to meet with us and answer all of our questions in a timely manner. The day before the wedding, Richard was more than willing to allow us to come in to add a few of our own decorations to the venue and allowed us to have a dance lesson with Fox Dance Studio in the ballroom. He even was gracious enough to provide a speaker system for us to use. Everything was set up the day before. I was able to request a few additional tables for a cake, presents, and DIY popcorn bar at no additional charge. They allowed us to use anything they had on site such as easels, pillars, artificial flower arrangements, and table numbers. The wedding day was absolutely perfect. We did not have to worry about setting up and cleaning up. The staff was great in making our guests feel taken care of. They made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed throughout the night. The food was delicious. When Richard told us that they make sure to order enough food to allow for seconds, it was not an understatement. All of my guests were able to go to the buffet line for seconds if they wished and all of the left overs, which was so many, were ready and packed for us to take home. This was so impressive because most venues we visited offered very small portions, and just one plate. The Fox offers great food and your guests will actually get full. The bar was fully stocked. We opted to purchase a certain amount of pre-paid drinks. Richard and staff updated us throughout the night of our drink count per our request. We asked him to let us know when the prepaid drinks were consumed so that we could make a purchase for additional drinks. We told him that we wanted to continue to have it be an open bar for our guests. When we exceeded our prepaid amount, they kept the bar going and only charged us for what was consumed which was a great savings. Overall, we were beyond impressed with The Fox Banquet & Event Center. It is such a beautiful, elegant, and unique venue at such a great price. My husband Danny and I got married here back in April. We are extremely thankful with all the staff. Richard, his sister and his dad made sure the most minimum detail was taken care of and they did an amazing job! The waiters were also great, they honestly made me feel like a princess! Yes, I am using the world "avail" because Fox is such a great find that gives you so much bang for your buck, it's like a sale on Black Friday. When I told my bridesmaids what I am paying for my reception, they were amazed by how much is included in the price for a 250 head count. I feel very lucky to have found Fox and to have them located in Redlands, just minutes away from our church. If you are considering having your ceremony or reception in Redlands or the Inland Empire area and would like an indoor venue, please do yourselves a favor and at least put Fox Event Center as an option in your research process. Book an appointment with the manager, Richard Kandela (also rated A++) to hear about the packages and services they offer. Choosing a venue depends on the couple's tastes. But if you are tired of the usual hotel ballrooms or estate gardens and are looking for a unique, historic indoor venue, your search might just end with Fox Center. Based on my experiences just in the planning/prep stages, here are the main reasons for my endorsement: #1: Their all-inclusive package. Weddings consist of a hundred details that you have to plan and execute and coordinate and just pray that it all comes together. Booking Fox's wedding package will get you: venue space, decorations (table settings and centerpieces), lighting, music/DJ services, event security, and FOOD--not to mention many more extras thrown in. Essentially, if you buy their package, you will have a complete party ready to go and anything else is just gravy. The core of your event will be intact even if all the details outside of Fox happen to fall apart. This is the best way to go if you want to avoid the hassle and risk of juggling too many vendors, or if you have just a couple of months to plan it all. #2: No nickel and diming, no hard selling. We all know that most vendors in the wedding industry like to take advantage of brides while they are at their most vulnerable. After all, why should food, salon services, or flowers cost so much more just because it's for a wedding? Fox's pricing is reasonable, and gives you the feeling of scoring a deal rather than being gouged (which is rare in this industry). They will respect your budget and do everything they can to offer you the best options and extras you can afford. They will not attempt to talk you into buying more upgrades or add-ons than you need, and will continuously assure you that they will make your event as beautiful as possible with what your budget will allow. #3: The Manager is the Easy Button. Richard is technically the manger of Fox Center, but he is so great at what he does, that he is as good as having an event coordinator without actually hiring one. He will be the main point person of your Fox event. So far, he's given us nothing but superior service in that he makes us feel our event is a priority, as opposed to a booking still four months away on his calendar. He is super easy to contact via text or email, and has quick answers for pretty much anything related to the venue. He has an endless amount of patience no matter how many questions you ask or requests you make, and makes you feel reassured that he has your back (and your event) totally covered. #4: Genuinely caring employees that feel like family. Fox is owned and run by the father-son team of Eddie and Richard Kandela. When my fiance and I first met with them, they said their approach to their business is viewing their clients like family and thus valuing their weddings/events accordingly. They really do live by this! Planning a wedding is a big, stressful undertaking, and the quality of service from your vendors can make or break you. When you book Fox, you are hiring a support team who will work hard to lessen your worries and load. Everyone I've interacted with in the planning process--Richard (manager), Eddie (owner), Michelle (assistant manager), Erica (event staff), and the chef (I'm afraid I forgot his name)--have all been helpful and friendly, and they know their stuff. Since I live nearby, I drop in on some weekends to consult with Richard on details or to view the event space. As long as it's within business hours and there are no ongoing events, they will accommodate you and you will never feel like a nuisance. This is a priceless advantage that cannot be found in any other venue. HORRIBLE. I came from out of town for my cousin's wedding. First off the appetizers were good but cold. There was a girl that come around and refilled our water pitcher. There was a plated dinner with steak and fish. It looked as if it was high school cafeteria food. I could not believe now CHEAP and unprofessional this place was and how little food they gave and not to mentioned the food was cold when we got it. Then other guest didn't get potato's. 2 other guests at our table ordered the vegetarian plate and that came after we had finished our dinner one of the guests got her dish and there was a hair in it so she had to send it back and they gave her a new one then when she had started eating it she said that there was mint in it. We just had our daughter's wedding here and it was absolutely perfect! Richard and his entire staff were fantastic! This event space has everything you could possibly need and or want for your wedding! There is no "nickle and dime" add on items to the packages they have to offer. The venue looked absolutely gorgeous, exactly what our daughter had envisioned. The food was amazing! We chose the Mexican menu and every single item served was delicious. I saw nothing but empty plates being picked up by the staff. The staff was so attentive. They were clearing plates and filling drinks all night. We never had to ask for anything because they were on top of it. Dave, the DJ and light guy was spot on with all the lights and music! This place has got it all figured out! Sitting here waiting for a wedding and im sorry but the staff if rude! The bartender with a beard is rude! Maybe if youre the ones paying for it theyre nice but the asian lady had a fit because i stepped on her cheap plastic table cloth floor runner! Who looks down when they walk?? Learn some manners!!! Be Kind!!! We are paying your salaries not that you care because its your business right?? Your lucky im a guest because id give you a piece of my mind!!!! Our daughter had her wedding ceremony and reception here on New Year's Eve. It was the perfect venue for her special day. All of our guests enjoyed themselves, the food and dancing. We used the preferred DJ services recommended by the venue. We were able to schedule several visits prior to her "BIG" day, which helped with many decisions that had to be made.
