Our wedding wasn't until 2019, and the amount of changes the venue had gone through during that time was incredible. You can tell every dime you pay gets put right back into the property. The scent of lavender wafting through the back patio was serene. The lavender fields offered scenic photo opportunities as well. The lavender themed cocktails were delicious. Pricey (paid $40+ w/tip for 2 drinks), but damn good. The matcha room offered high quality tea with balanced flavors (~$12+ w/tip). We loved the little shops offering unique items. The crafting area had engaging crafts; each station was about $8. We decided to make bookmarks using dried flowers. Staff at the crafting area were friendly and helpful. We also booked high tea. We loved that it was located at their back patio. There was a nice breeze and a good view of the lavender fields. Personally, I thought there was too much foot traffic during tea but other people in my party didn't mind. Our waitress was friendly, but a tad slow and unfortunately brought out the wrong tea. Overall, the food was good. We loved the curry sandwich the most along with a few of the desserts. The lemon poppy was fantastic! We paid $201 for this experience.

Unfortunately, our experience with the service did not match the beauty of the venue. From the moment we arrived in the parking lot, the staff seemed unwelcoming. We smiled and greeted them, but not one person smiled back. We tried not to let that affect us because we were there to joyfully celebrate a family member's wedding. The bar staff also seemed unfriendly, and I felt as though I was inconveniencing them simply by asking for a cup of ice. The drinks appeared to contain mostly ice and juice. I rarely drink except on special occasions, but I can normally smell or taste alcohol in a mixed drink, and I could not detect any in the drinks I received. It also would have been nice if guests had been offered water or another refreshing beverage more consistently. The trolley service was another major disappointment. At the end of the evening, I saw a cart coming up the hill and waited because I thought it was picking us up. Instead, it parked and the three guests riding in it went inside a nearby trailer. My elderly cousin, my husband, my two children, and I had to walk down the hill, as many other guests did. I eventually had to remove my heels and walk barefoot on the rocky surface cutting the bottoms of my feet because I was afraid of falling. My feet were still hurting afterward. I do want to recognize one tall young man on staff who was genuinely helpful and kind. His kindness stood out and was appreciated. After reading other reviews, I wonder why our experience was so different. Guests seem to receive either excellent five-star service or very disappointing service. In my honest opinion, this venue has tremendous potential, but there are important areas that need improvement--especially staff friendliness, access to refreshments, and reliable shuttle service for children, elderly guests, and anyone wearing formal shoes. The venue itself was beautiful, and we were fortunate to have great weather. I sincerely hope the service improves so future guests receive an experience that matches the beauty of the property.
