I was So excited to try this place out!! They are known for their fun innovative ice cream We walked in to some fun flavors and sins amazing looking pictures of what they offer! There's so much to choose from! I got the Dubai chocolate ice cream cup. It was amazing. It came with pistachio ice cream, milk, chocolate, ice cream, whipped cream, pistachio drizzle and chocolate drizzle absolutely delicious! My husband gone butter, pecan with brownies and whipped cream, which was very tasty as well! Honestly the ice cream was good.. But for being such a fun looking ice cream shop and for being downtown Phoenix. I expected the vibe in there to be a little bit more inviting a little bit more fun and upbeat! I mean, at least some music playing! Once the other customers left, it was just my husband and I was sitting there the employees were nowhere in sight there's no music no entertainment at all inside. and outside, you can see the hustle and bustle of the nightlife which was nice! To be honest with you going to the restroom, there was music in that hall that was inviting, and there was music in the restroom that was more inviting than the actual ice cream shop! To go in get your ice cream and leave would be great. But if you want to eat inside it's just very bland very plain and very uninviting for as cool and fun as their ice cream options are I just expected the place to be a little bit more fun going. It lacked in that area for sure, but the taste of the ice cream was delicious.
My mom and I literally stumbled into this adorable little ice cream spot in downtown Phoenix while hunting for a sweet treat on vacation, and OMG... destiny!! Not only was it super cute inside, but they had an entire gluten-free menu for me to choose from. Like--an actual GF wonderland. I nearly cried. The guy working the counter was ridiculously nice and let us sample basically the whole store. Unlimited samples?? Don't threaten me with a good time. We were out here tasting flavors like we were on "The Bachelor: Ice Cream Edition." Now let's talk about the 'Strawberry Frappe'.I can't even describe the flavor because my brain still short-circuits when I think about it. Just trust me--it's different, it's magical, it's what Strawberry Shortcake would drink on her day off. I wanted two flavors SO badly, but the two-scoop cup was basically the size of my head. They should let people do a mini cup with two flavors... buuuut I asked nicely (with big doe eyes) and got away with it. Hehe They also had a chalkboard wall where we could sign our names, so of course we doodled like we were famous artists. Honestly, I'm expecting MoMA to call any day now. If you're visiting downtown Phoenix,go check out this ice cream spot!! Like... run. Don't walk. I'm still dreaming about it.
I took my three adult kids, ages 14, 18, and 21, to The Yard Milkshake Bar on Sunday, August 16 around 3 PM because we wanted to experience something fun, unique, and exciting together. After reading reviews and considering our options, we were really looking forward to this experience. When we arrived, we were excited by the variety of flavors and the over-the-top presentation. Unfortunately, once we started looking more closely at the products, we became concerned. The ice cream in the freezer appeared extremely soft and partially melted, and we noticed significant condensation around the cookie dough/batter. It did not give the impression that the products were being properly maintained or stored. The milkshakes certainly LOOK impressive, but once we actually tasted them, the quality was very disappointing. The ice cream did not have the creamy consistency or quality I would expect for the price. It tasted like inexpensive, low-quality ice cream, and the whipped cream was also warm rather than cold and fresh. At that point, it felt like we were paying primarily for the presentation, jar, toppings, and "wow factor" rather than quality ice cream. I also noticed packaged items such as Chips Ahoy cookies, brownies, and sugar cookies being used as toppings, with some of the original store packaging visible. There is nothing inherently wrong with using packaged products, but when the actual ice cream isn't high quality, it becomes difficult to justify the price. The most concerning part of our visit, however, was what happened with an employee. One employee arrived wearing what appeared to be pajamas and had a kitten/cat on her shoulder. She took the cat toward the back and later was behind/near the register preparing drinks while she and another employee were interacting with the cat around the food and snack area. Seeing an animal being handled in an area where food and food-service items were being prepared was extremely concerning. As a customer, I should not have to wonder whether pet hair or dander could be getting near food. For anyone with a cat allergy, this could be especially concerning. Once I saw this, I stopped eating my milkshake altogether. I sincerely hope the owners or management take this review seriously. The staff need proper training, and the food-storage, cleanliness, and food-handling practices should be carefully evaluated. A fun atmosphere and impressive presentation can only go so far. Quality, cleanliness, and proper food handling should always come first. We went there expecting a memorable dessert experience with our kids. Unfortunately, the experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. My recommendation: save your money and look elsewhere. We spent $81 on this visit.
This place is magic! We stayed near here and had a late night craving for some yummy ice cream. We were so happy to have found this spot. My husband was so excited to have so may amazing options. It was the most delicious ice cream we have had in a long time. So many creative milkshakes and ice cream flavors. Service was good. He has lots of patience with us when ordering. Place has a ton of seating. This is a MUST experience.
Milkshakes here are insane! I had a salted caramel milkshake that came with a huge piece of caramel cheesecake right on top of the glass it was crazy. Major sugar overload but a super fun experience.
Great little ice cream spot in DT Phx. It has all kind of gimmicky options of ice cream and shakes to choose from. Me personally I like to sticking to classic treats. I do feel like the pricing is up there but I guess you pay for the experience. When busy service does tend to move a bit slow, so you might have to wait an extra couple of minutes. The ice cream is blue bell so being from Texas we know it's good lol. Would say it's worth it on hot day.
Cool hangout and ice cream presentation. They have a jar washing sink to wash your jars to take home. Service was quick. Unfortunately, restrooms are not available
The prices are very reasonable with huge sizes! My favorite was the rocky road which they did so well with amazing chocolate flavor, almonds, marshmallows! The Cookie Monster flavor was also pretty good. The service was alright and ambiance could've been better as it was cold with windows open and dirty tables. Overall not a bad experience though! One of the better "'meals" I've had in Phoenix
So many flavors to choose from. They have bowls and jars you can take home, waffle cones and much more. There is so much space and they have a cute area near the front door for two. The service was great, staff as friendly. The only thing I would say is that it is pricey, not your small ice cream shop, keep it mind it is downtown and everything there is pricey. I would recommend.
The milkshakes here are so fun, we tried a couple different ones and enjoyed them all. Customer service was good and the restaurant was clean, definitely recommend trying it out if you're in the area!
The ice cream is good and I liked what I ordered! The specialty bowls and shakes all look delicious just like on the menu. However, my ice cream was melting and served with syrup and a mess all over the outside of the cup. The service isn't great and pretty slow. The tables are sticky and the chairs are messy with crusted food on them like they haven't been cleaned in a while. There's no water cups which would be nice to have in a specialty ice cream place like this. It was pretty hot inside the restaurant too, like there wasn't air conditioning on. Paid parking is available very close by.
Came here with a couple friends for a little dessert adventure, and it definitely delivered on the aesthetic. The ice cream was super creamy and flavorful. The vibe is cute and Instagram worthy, and they have fun flavor combos. That said, it is a bit on the pricey side, but it makes sense considering it's in the downtown CityScape area. If you're in the mood to treat yourself (or just want a photo worthy dessert), it's worth a stop!
The Yard Milkshake Bar is a cute spot with plenty of seating and a fun, upbeat vibe thanks to music playing indoors. They offer an impressive array of flavors which makes choosing quite an event. Unfortunately, the ice cream itself didn't live up to the presentation. The overall quality of the ice cream is meh (not sweet, rich in flavor, not creamy). I sampled the banana pudding and it didn't taste like banana pudding. It's a pleasant place to hang out but the ice cream doesn't stand-out enough to make it a place to visit. Two scoops in a cup cost $8. The staff are friendly and helpful.

This place was great. Amazing creations for dessert. Mine had a whole piece of cheesecake on top. I would recommend to anyone. read more
This place is all sugar, but in a good way. Both the ice cream and the shake were creative and delicious. You get to keep the jar the shake comes with as well. The service was quick and it's nice to have something cold on a sunny day in Glendale. Stop by ! read more
It was pretty darn good. The ordering procedure could be a little better streamlined... Employees will just stand there waiting for you to walk up to the register rather than asking if they can take your order as you stand there waiting to be greeted. read more

Did it taste good? Yes. Was it extremely hard to eat? Also yes. The cheesecake was rock hard making it essentially impossible to eat with plastic spoons. We somehow managed to saw at the cheesecake like lumberjacks and get some bites Not a bad experience, just needs some tweaking! read more

If you're looking for a serious sugar rush, here's your spot. The creativity is insane! Want a milkshake topped with a donut? No prob! How about a milkshake with a slice of cheesecake on top? Got it! Any unicorn fans out there? Got you covered! My only hang up is that it's a bit pricey. $17 for a milkshake is outrageous, but you do get a lot for the money. The kids liked it for a special treat, even if our bill was more than we paid for dinner. read more

This place was very well located and has some great combinations for the price. They have amazing looking shakes that can also be made into bowls. I had the cookie monster bowl and it was loaded. Had cookie dough, cookies, cookie crisp, chocolate, and cookies mixed in. And yes it's a sugar comma waiting to happen but worth it. The price point was great for how much you get. I saw many others being made and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. The down side to this place is it is downtown. It's not hard to find at all, but finding parking can be very trick and may cost a lot if you choose the wrong lot. The atmosphere of the shop is very welcoming with tons of natural light. And the smells of all the ingredients draws you in eager for something sweat. Overall I would rate this a must go to at least experience once. I can be very sweet so I would suggest sharing if you go with someone else. read more
I stayed downtown Phoenix for just one day and the amount of restaurants and bars to choose from was overwhelming! The one thing I knew I wanted to try was the ice cream from the yard! The place is clean and neat and the staff was so nice and welcoming! They let me try all the flavors I wanted which was good because there was so many to choose from I didn't know how to narrow it down. I decided on the birthday cake and better brownie batter. The milkshakes looked so tempting but I had just eaten a big dinner so I went with just a cup with two scoops. They also sell ready to eat cookie dough that i will try next time! The cookie dough comes in a super cute mason jar with their logo on it and you can also purchase just the jar for about $3. read more

Came to the yard milkshake bar after seeing some social media presence. It's definitely the aesthetic food if you are wanting some "instagram" pictures. Their signature ice creams that have toppings are good for the looks but is a bit much for just casual eating. I think for the price you're better off just eating the ice cream. Their ice cream is good in taste and quality but a bit expensive if you plan on purchasing anything out of the mason jars. The main downfall right now is the location. With so much construction happening downtown it can be a pain if it's busy, otherwise it is not too bad as you can park in the nearby parking garage and have the ticket validated. They don't advertise this so make sure you ask for validation ! read more

This place was amazing! Dessert heaven for the sweet tooth's out there. It's cool because you can choose anything from their signature menu or mix and match your own and they give you a cup to keep. You'll probably be a little wired later. 5/5 experience! read more

This is a fun concept for this particular area of downtown. I reviewed their main website before heading here and it appears the owners were on Shark Tank and they have locations across many major US cities. This one in PHX is located near the sports venues of downtown so there's a lot of hustle and bustle here depending on the day. My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday evening. The place was packed and there was only one table open. My boyfriend grabbed it and sat down while I ordered. For as busy as this place can get, I feel like they need more seating. There are probably only 10 tables in here. We both wanted a speciality milkshake. After all, if it's your first time you, you have to get one, right?! I got the Salted Caramel cheesecake shake and my boyfriend got the Strawberries & Cream cheesecake shake. It takes a little bit for them to make the shakes, so they gave me a ticket with a number on it. Within 10 mins, they brought out our shakes. Although very pretty and appealing to the eye, they are pretty much just average in taste. Even the cheesecake slice they put on top tasted like it was from a Costco assortment tray. Both my boyfriend and I only ended up drinking half of our shakes. Which for $45 means we wasted quite a bit! I guess the good thing is that they have a station where you can wash out your glass and take it home with you. But still, I could have bought a whole case of mason jars for that amount. The only reason I give them three stars and not two is because I would go back. But now that I tried out the whole milkshake hype, I'd rather try some of their ice cream. They have Hershey's flavors and I'm sure there is a concoction that I'd enjoy (and hopefully much cheaper than a shake :)). read more
Don't come here if you are broke. For $17.00 you will get an expensive ass, yet delicious milkshake. If you think of just a regular milkshake then, these do seem to be extremely over priced. Even with the toppings but when you break it down, it makes sense. You are getting an amazing milk shake plus depending on the shake you get, you are getting another treat that could easily cost 5 bucks alone. Then you will also get to keep the mason jar the shakes come in. So in the end 17.00 bucks is totally worth the price. The quality of ingredients really comes through because these shakes are freaking amazing. Restroom are cleaned. The spot is right in the corner of Jefferson and central. They do have seating inside and it is pretty clean. The staff is all very friendly and honestly this is an experience you need to have at least once in your life. I probably won't come here every time I want a milkshake but this is definitely a place to visit again and try the other flavors. We had the s'mores and the strawberry cheesecake. My husband got the plain vanilla shake with Reese's pieces and that alone was just 8 bucks. Honestly when I walked it and saw the price I was like oh hell no but after ordering and seeing what you get for the price it is definitely worth it. They also have vegan options and lactose and gluten free options. read more
Their vegan Not Milk milkshake is incredible! Chocolate chunk oat milk ice cream, chocolate chip cookie, chocolate syrup, whipped cream - all vegan and so good! We drove there from Gilbert and it was well worth the drive and the price. If you were under whelmed by their milkshakes, you should definitely try the vegan one! read more

My first time ever going there with a friend and we really did enjoy it! We loved how the menu was filled with so many variety choices! The ice cream was creamy and favorable and fulfilled our cravings. The service was good. We loved the environment because we walked downtown and discovered the place on accident. The facility is hidden, but definitely worth the hype. Will be returning soon! read more
Umm... where to start? Good customer service and helpful staff. Not knowing what to get and the staff guides you and give you samples. I personally won't come back because it was far tooooooo sweet and I felt horrible afterwards. My guest that has a sweet tooth agreed. We ate about a quarter of the amount of ice cream and had to dump the rest. We got to keep the cup which is why it was a bit pricey to me 32$ for "The Boss" and the that brownie lover sundae.... I couldn't sleep all night from the sugar rush. Just because I can't handle the sweet doesn't mean others cannot. Thank you for good service! read more

The portions here are huge. I got the cereal killer milkshake and it was amazing and definitely filling. the staff here was so polite. I will most definitely b coming back to this location. read more
This place is pretty ridiculous!.. owners were originally on the Shark Tank. Great concepts of speciality shakes, and sundaes. Multiple places in the SE US. Saw this place while in downtown Phoenix and thought about for 2 days before we went. Had the "Donut touch my coffee and cream". Do share, it's very rich but worth the splurge. Only down side was the donut was a tad stale but a donut in top of my shake?, get out! read more

In Phoenix on our way back from the Grand Canyon to catch a flight back home tonight. It is so excruciatingly hot here in Phoenix that we all decided we wanted some ice cream, so we decided to hit this place. The service was fast and there was a huge selection of different milkshakes to choose from, and to be honest there were about 6 different ones I wanted to try. I settled on the milk and cookies, and boy was I glad I picked it! It was delicious! I'm definitely full and satisfied, as you will be if you give this place a try! read more

My daughter wanted to try this place because of their vegan milkshakes they offer. She ordered a vegan strawberry milkshake. I'm not vegan but I tried it just out of curiosity and it was really good. She definitely enjoyed it. Place is very busy but pretty big and is able to accommodate the volume. I would come back if in the area. read more

First off, this ice cream is amazing! I got the s'mores sundae and it blew my mind! The reason for the two star review is because they are an ice cream place that doesn't have free water. Wth? At $16 for the sundae, I think they can do free plastic cups. Everyone knows ice cream needs a side of water. Ugh read more

My husband, 4 year old, and I went there this past weekend. We enjoyed going there. The ice cream was good. But seriously over priced. For all three it was $52 but you get to keep the small mason jars. What was nice, they had a large sink so you can wash out the mason jars. None of us could finish it, although I wanted to with the money we spent. Friendly service. Super packed. But probably best to share with someone who has the same taste as you. You definitely should look at the menu before you go. They do, however have special ones like, gluten free, vegan, and lactose free. But it's an up charge. So beware. Bring your wallet. read more
FIND A BETTER WAY TO SPEND $16 When we were ready to order there was only one person in front of us so we did not have to wait long to order. I suspect it does get pretty busy as they had a sign that read, "30 minute wait after ordering." We ordered the Cookie Dough Delicious and the Cereal Killer. After we read the sign we were surprised it only took no longer than 10 minutes for our shakes to come out. The place is pretty small and busy so there was no place to sit which forced us to take it to go. The toppings on the shakes were the only somewhat pleasant part of the entire shake. The shake was watery and lacked any flavor. Overall, there are better ways to spend $16. read more
