I really wanted to love everything about this place, but the milkshakes weren't that great. Of course, the aesthetic is everything, but the execution isn't fully there. I loved the photo backdrop wall and the presentation of the shakes. Heck, I even loved the name of this establishment. (i.e. "My Milkshake Brings All The Boys to The Yard,) but when it came down to the product, it was just average. I went with a group of friends, and we ordered a good assortment of items, and everyone had the same opinion on this. The ice cream was average. Unfortunately, the milkshakes were watery by the time they got to the table. One friend ordered the Banana Split Milkshake, and after they had already made her milkshake, they informed her that they were out of bananas. She wouldn't have ordered that had she known beforehand, but she was a good sport about it, even though we could all tell she was bummed. The best thing out of all the items we ordered was the edible cookie dough. We wouldn't make a trip here just for that, but it was decent, and the number of available flavors was impressive. I also liked how we got to keep the mason jar that came with our milkshake. That was a redeeming factor for me. They even have a little station for customers to wash out their jars on site. All in all, if you're going for the pretty photo, this place will serve. If you're going for bomb ice cream, you might not be as pleased. read more

This place was so good! I love the detail they put into their menu items. I saw so many kids order the mermaid and absolutely adored it. The ice cream is rich and creamy and the milkshakes were sweet and easy to drink. It did melt pretty quickly and dripped on the sides so not that easy to avoid a mess. The pricing is my only area of concern since you can have a big bill at the end of your visit if you all order individual items. Just something to consider if you go several times but once in a while it's a fun treat and get a souvenir jar. read more

Located on a corner in Phoenix is one of the best places to get ice cream and milkshakes. I went with my sister and we got the birthday cake milkshake and the strawberry cheesecake milkshake. We sat near the open windows that overlooked the city and it almost made us feel like we were in New York. The milkshakes were truly one-of-a-kind with a cupcake on top and cheesecake on top, and tasted as good as they looked. They let you take the jug home, and have an area where you can wash it out and carry it with a bag. While it is expensive for a milkshake, the fun of going and experiencing it all made it well worth it. read more

Stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was ok nothing worth noting one way or the other. I got the vegan non-dairy vanilla ice cream and it was terrible. Yes this is an ice cream shop and I'm out of the norm getting vegan ice cream but it was a waste of $5. It was icy almost like it was frost bitten, just a horrible texture. Hard pass if you are dairy free. read more

We visited on a recent Sunday. The line was out the door which we expected from reading reviews. It gave us some time to read the menu and decide what we wanted. We opted for a sundae rather than milkshake. Limited seating inside. We found a table but if it had been nicer/cooler outside we probably would have strolled around and bright the ice cream with us. Everything tasted delicious, but for me this is a one time visit. I think it was about $30 or so for what we got, which was a little high. It was fun. read more

This is a really cool spot to get dessert. There are a lot of options. You can get ice cream, milkshakes, edible cookie dough, and cookie dough pops. The best choices are the specialty milkshakes. They are piled high with yummy toppings. I got one to share with two people and it was definitely enough. You also get to keep the jar it comes in and they have a little section you can wash it out to take it home. This is definitely a cool date spot. read more

After walking in downtown Phoenix in 110° weather, we decided to try the yard. After paying $20 with tip and tax for one 16-oz milkshake, I was shocked that the cashier refused to give us a cup of water. They insisted they only sell water bottles. SO DISAPPOINTING!! A feast for the eyes only. The ice cream itself is "just okay", but EVERYTHING added was STALE. Someone else here said that in their review but I refused to believe it. We went there anyway, and tried it for ourselves, and Im so sad to say that it was true, and just awful. Ruined the whole thing. It's like all factory processed junk that looks really pretty but tastes like you know what. Went here with my friend today for a kid-free Mom date and we were not disappointed! Apparently their grand opening is tomorrow, so come out and show them some support tomorrow! Anyway, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the milkshakes were delicious! You get to keep the jar that it comes in, so that's a nice little souvenir to take home. I got the coffee milkshake with the donut and my friend got the Cookie Monster one. We were both very happy. They were decadent and very filling. Definitely recommend if you've got a sweet tooth and you want to cool off in this almost summer heat. read more

This place is amazing and horrible all at once. It's amazrrible. The shakes are incredibly good and are works of art. They are also soooo filling and should come with a discount coupon off your first insulin pump. Not a place I would go to regularly, but is worth it for a special treat. Pro Tips: Get one to share. Also, you can get a slightly scaled down version that's a bit cheaper and not as glamorous but just as tasty. Just gotta look for it on the menu. read more

I'm surprised more people aren't giving this place the credit it deserves. Unique milkshakes that go beyond the realm of dessert! To complain about pricing is hilarious, it's not at all like there's a competing dessert establishment with the uniqueness and creativity this place has! At least not anywhere in the surrounding area. My only hang up is the sugar rush from diabetes in a cup, but it was totally worth it. I'd suggest definitely going here after you've eaten as the sugar rush can be overwhelming. read more

This place is delicious! We are visiting from North Carolina and actually saw this place advertised on TikTok. Parking downtown is tough, especially with construction, so plan for that. We must have came in right as a big rush happened, so the line was literally out the door. Service was quick, relatively speaking. There's so many options so it's nice to look at the menu ahead of time. It's also nice you can keep your glasses! read more

You must come here! This is a one time experience, very clean, and the staff are friendly. The desert options are endless, sooo amazing, worth the money you pay, and the best part you get a mason jar for a souvenir. You should definitely share a desert when you come, very generous portions. I will be raving about this place for a long time. read more

Walking by for mothers day we saw The Yard, just opened less than a week ago. For dairy free and allergies they do have almond milk based desserts. The shakes were ok, but pricey, $15 and $16 each. Small seating area inside. I would think for sustainment they may need to lower some the prices, but I do wish them the best. read more

Our family read the Yelp reviews and decided to try it out as reviews were great. This location is very popular and many want to experience this unique approach to ice cream. A side note: You can order immediately but the completion time for your order was at 1.5 hours. Clearly the owner and management need to staff up for the demand. They carry a freezer that you can grab and go but again so under staffed that the fridge was depleted. Sadly today they lost 5 customers. Time to staff up, gain more cashiers and reduce turn around time - capture your opportunity. read more

We brought our parents in for a small dessert 11/5/21 after we ate pizza at a place close by. We were in for a bit of a LARGE SURPRISE, LOL inside this small joint downtown they sell everything but small desserts. The Yard Milkshake Bar is a spot across from the SUNS basketball stadium, you can literally look out of their tall glass windows and see it from inside sitting at one of their tables. The intersection it's located is currently under construction, which makes it a bit difficult to get to it. I'd recommend parking in the Fry's parking garage and walking across (bonus tip: make a small purchase at Fry's so the employee will validate your parking). If not there is a few really close parking garages such as the Copper Blue's parking garage or the Bowling Alley's parking garage as it's in the same complex as this establishment (they can also v validate your ticket). This place is apparently known for their VERY UNIQUE & ECCENTRIC milk shakes. These are definitely the milkshakes bringing the boys to the YARD! Now you can order a classic shake (exactly what my dad did as he cannot have all the sugars, his one true cheat day as he's recently diagnosed diabetic), he drank half of it, and to say the least you can never go wrong with a small vanilla milkshake ($6). I ordered a small cookie dough milk shake (I too shied away from the extravagant milkshake selection) ($7). My mom ordered the awesome milkshake below (Oreo Pumpkin Spice Pie Milkshake $18) it has a chocolate dipped Oreo, pumpkin spice cookie dough scoop, 1 pumpkin pie slice, topped with fresh whipped cream Oreo crumbs & an Oreo crumb rim. The mansion jar is included with the purchase (they have a wash station to rinse the jar after, we all helped my mom pick at the shake (4 of us) and we ended up asking for containers to take a lot of my toppings home with us). Lastly, my brother ordered a small ice cream scoop of birthday cake ($8). Ultimately, it was so packed we couldn't sit at one of the tables sadly, we sat on a bench and then realized the front room had a table but it was in the dark, we made it work! We also agreed we all could have shared 1 or 2 items in stead of ordering individual items, as it ended up being a lot of ice cream and sugar. This is a pricer date night spot, however, I'd highly recommend trying them at least once for the experience and great photo opportunities! Thanks y'all! Cheers, enjoy!! read more

If you are a blogger or influencer this is your jam. The milkshakes have a nice presentation. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars is because, the wait times are way to long for a dessert. Also, the parking is a nightmare and the A/C did not seem to work the day we went and in this Arizona heat you need place to cool off in. Also $16 for a milkshake seemed a little high. read more

When we entered there was a lady holding a QR code for people to pull up the menu. There was a roughly 40 min wait for people who ordered some of their fancy shakes. I didn't get anything but my friends ordered a "basic" mint shake and something else that I now can unfortunately not remember. They both really enjoyed their items. I would definitely come back to try it out for the first time for myself. Everything looked really good. The prices were reasonable. It is definitely a meal all on its own. Great place to do once, really small inside. Just fyi 16 for the fancy ones with a jar, you get to keep the jar. Not a lot of room to sit, had to wait awkwardly for a table, hardly any A/C. I would take out of towners but me personally I would not return. read more

Don't waste your time here!! Terrible service, 45 minute wait for one milkshake, extremely rude and snotty employees. Wish I could give this place 0 stars. We simply ordered a Cookies N' Worms milkshake and after we did, they proceeded to walk out to us, 3 different times, and tell us about all of the ingredients they were out of. They then proceeded t with the wrong order multiple times, so we asked for a refund but one bitch with fucked up eyebrows said she couldn't do a refund for us (which ended up being false) and said ," I am not giving you anything with that attitude" and went on to call me a bitch while whispering with her coworker. We had to request the manager who was the only kind employee and happily gave us a refund. It was a total waste of 45 minutes in such a nasty environment filled with tension. Also, a total rip-off of $17 for a milkshake! And whyou think it doesn't get worse, the occupancy of the building was 49 but there were at least double that inside!! read more

I stopped by the yard milkshake bar that just opened in downtown phoenix. I am huge shark tank fan so I was so excited to see that they were coming to phoenix! There was a little bit of a wait but they just opened yesterday- so to be expected! Staff was really friendly! I ordered a shake and ice cream bowl. They made a small mistake on my ice cream but immediately corrected it and gave me the mess up for free. The ice cream was fantastic! You even get the mason jar to take home if you order a shake. The decor inside is adorable. They have some great places to take photos as well. If you are a big ice cream/shake person, this is the place for you! I was impressed and look forward to going back to try some of their other ice cream flavors! read more

I went here with my sister on Tuesday the 18th at round 7. They are so busy for being a newish business. It's a little on the pricey side but it's well worth the money. everything was pretty clean and they have a sink to rinse your milkshake jars in. It's a little bit crowded for sure but i would like to come back soon to try some other stuff. I got the peanut butter bliss milkshake and my sister got a one scoop "lil blue panda". The milkshake was 16 and the scoop was 4 so 20$ total. I'm overall very satisfied with the experiences I took off a star for the fact that they wouldn't give me a lid for my jar which is a bit annoying and for the cleanliness and crowding. read more

I called them last minute on Christmas Eve eve, having never been there before, totally sight unseen. First of all, their voicemail is hilarious. Truly. If you do nothing else, call just to hear it. It will instantly make you want to order something. Once I reached a real person, I explained my situation, that I wouldn't be able to come in beforehand, I needed a beautiful cookie tray for about 14-16 people, and I had a few must have preferences. Without hesitation, they said, "We got you." I was assured it would be ready when I landed on Xmas eve. Sure enough, after my partner picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to The Sicilian Baker. Parking right out front, a huge plus. As soon as you pull in, you're greeted with Frank Sinatra playing, not just inside, but even in the parking lot. It sets the tone immediately. We walked in, gave my name, and within minutes a lovely young person brought out my tray. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Easy. Efficient. Warm service that made me actually grab a small box of cookies to drop my besties home on the way outta there. I didn't even realize at first that there's a sit down restaurant next door where you can relax and enjoy something. Great to know for next time ;) . Now, let's talk about the cookies. Yes, they are on the pricier side, but every single dollar was worth it. The tray was robust. Classic Italian pastries across the board like lobster tails, tri-colored almond cakes, cannolis, and all the favorites you hope for when you're trying to impress a room full of potential inlaws. And impress it did. The moment I walked in with that tray, it was a hit. People were already claiming which pastries they wanted, plotting what they'd take home, and hovering before dinner was even finished. There was more than enough for 16 people, grand is the only word for it, which is my style 1,000%. To this day, they're still talking about those cookies which makes me phenomenally proud (and humbled). I say this in all my reviews, "I hate almost everything. I'm discerning. I'm critical. And when something truly represents what I stand for - quality, authenticity, and heart, I will shout it from the rooftops". The Sicilian Baker delivered New York level excellence in Phoenix!
