I explained I had a leaking irrigation supply valve and wanted to get it fixed fast due to hot weather. Johnathan came by for estimate on Tuesday. He noticed the PVB was very old and valves rusted so that needed to be replaced also, but it could wait. I said I only want to cry once! So added that. I had an estimate later that evening and it was quite reasonable. I had mentioned I wanted an estimate for another little job and he said he would throw that in as a courtesy! Awesome! I accepted the quote and they came out that very Friday, dug a huge hole, replaced all the plumbing with commercial quality parts including the PVB, filled in and leveled, and had it all up and ready to go by 4PM! Glue needed to dry overnight, so next day fired it up and all good! Very pleased with the work and the quick response. They take Zelle and checks so none of this cash only thing so many contractors want to do. They handle lots of different services so I'm sure I'll be using them again soon!

Requested bids and designs to remove all the grass in the backyard, install sitting walls around trees with flag stone steps and zero scape setting. The rabbits and voles wreaked havoc in our backyard. We've had to replace our lawn twice. Jeff with Rock Solid Landscaping responded. We agreed to meet and walk the yard. We wanted 3 mounds with larger rocks around with native plants. The crew started everyday at 7am and worked until 4pm. They were always on time and worked a full day. This job was completed in 2 weeks. They delivered a porta potty, bobcat in front of our home. They put cones for safety. They are very organized, when dirt, rocks were delivered they moved to backyard. Then they swept the street and/or driveway to keep clean. Our neighbors complemented on the nice job of keeping street clean. Juan Carlos and his 2 workers were very well organized. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. I asked for a few Day Lillie's be transplanted back into the area. They installed a new drip system with an extension for me to plant my small veggie garden. This morning the garbage collector came to my door to let me know I had a river running down my driveway. The decomposed granite was full of gullies where the water had washed it into the street. I discovered a large irrigation line had failed. I had to turn off the system to avoid draining Tahoe and I was concerned that my plants wouldn't appreciate the balmy weather we're having. I called the Ground Guys and explained what happened. They do my system winterizing every year but I'm not what you'd call a major customer. Not only did they get someone out the same day, their guy repaired the line and then returned the dg from the street to the planter bed. You couldn't ask for more. read more

I am writing this to warn other homeowners- specifically pet owners- about the lack of professional…read moreexpertise and accountability at Sierra Nevada Landscapes, and Jeremy Michaud the owner. Since 2018, I have spent nearly $90,000 with this company, including a recent $13,000 project in 2025 to completely rip out and reinstall a twice failed pet turf area, only to be left with the same unusable, foul-smelling yard. The core of the issue is a fundamental lack of industry knowledge regarding pet-friendly artificial turf installation leading to persistent urine odors. When original turf became matted and flat, Jeremy's solution was to add more silica sand.I have since learned from multiple other professionals that silica sand is the primary material you NEVER USE for pet turf, as it's porous and permanently traps odors. Even during the complete 2025 reinstallation-which involved ripping out 10 inches of base layer- Jeremy still used silica sand. Predictably, the odor returned and was worse than before. While Jeremy offered to redo the yard a fourth time, I could not trust a "professional" who repeatedly used wrong materials after seven years of documented failures. Despite the massive amount of money spent, he has refused to offer any form of cash refund. I am now forced to pay a new contractor to fix his mistakes. If you want a functional, sanitary yard, do not trust this company. Their "expertise" is severely lacking, their communication is spotty and they do not stand behind their work with financial accountability.
