Bacon, avocado, turkey, and kale sandwich with their unsweetened iced tea (fresh brewed and really good).

Two things that will get me to try someplace are recommendations by a friend or family member, or a coupon. In this case, I had both, so double the incentive. I really like this place, both for the food and drink offered, and for its convenience locally to me. It has most of the types of items I would want for breakfast or lunch, the ingredients are fresh, and they're made to order. I enjoy their coffees and teas. I also appreciate that you can buy bagels here in bags of 6, and those bagels are better quality than, and priced competitively with, local bagel establishments (one of which I gave a significantly lower star rating to just yesterday). There's plenty of space inside and outside to enjoy your meal if you don't get it to go. I needed a couple of nudges to come here the first time, that won't be the case from now on.

The Works is basically New England's Panera Bread, or what Panera Bread used to be before JAB bought it. They provide healthy breakfast and lunch options. Dinner too if you want sandwiches or salad. If you are in the mood for something basic and healthy then this is a good option. Alot of the key ingredients are locally sourced. Cheese from Vermont, of course. Eggs from New Hampshire and etc. Food is very good, simple and healthy. Portion size is bigger than Panera. Staffs are nice and they constantly clean the restaurant. I was there for 4 hours doing some work, and staff clean the same area twice. Plenty of seatings so I didn't feel too guilty sitting there for so long.

Honey Bear Smoothie- or half of it ;)

Can't complain about a free smoothie! Received coupons in the mail and before they expire, I'll be using the free sandwich and free breakfast, but today was all about the smoothie! Honey Bear, and I do mean you Smoothie, is amazing. Not too sweet, very banana-y...a good thing, and feeling healthy from that wheat germ! Friendly service, clean environment, hope this place does well- and keep the coupons flowing!

Wireless internet? In a tavern? You mean enjoy wings and a beer in a casual environment and catch up on my Yelping at the same time? Sign me up. I don't know why I didn't listen to my instincts and run away when I first stepped foot in this place. It had the distinctive smell of toilet soap-cakes. Plus the restaurant was almost deserted. Two women in their 80s were eating a sandwich, drinking a bottle of bud (from a glass, mind you, they were ladies) and playing keno. You get the picture. I could go into more detail, but it's just not worth it. The wings that I ordered crispy, were some of the slimiest I have had in the area. The blue cheese dressing had turned and was curdled. A few of the wings were mangled, with bones sticking out in all directions. I'm a pretty tough customer. It takes a lot to turn my stomach. But I actively tried (and ultimately succeeded) in keeping those wings down. It wasn't easy, but mint gum and herbal tea are very soothing. And the punchline: Yes they have wireless internet access... but it's password protected.

It was for a birthday I made cannoli cake but didn't want to make the actual cannolis to save time but wanted a higher quality version than price chopper I also got a latte and it was very good- nice and hot (some places they're kinda cooler) The service was great a woman with short brown hair helped me & made the latte. It was a very cute cafe /bakery and idk if they make their desserts but if they do- great job! Im happy either way and the birthday boy said the cannolis were perfect.

And that is not a word I use lightly either…read more What kind of person buys a gem like Mrs. London's and doesn't take the time to learn the recipes, master the craft, and maintain the standards of what was once arguably the best boulangerie and patisserie in America? Seriously, there is someone here to blame. What is their name? I want to know. Sure, it's not a civil or criminal offense. But it's a crime against food. It's a crime against the people of Saratoga Springs. And it's just plane offensive. I regret if anyone was driven to try Mrs. London's based on my previous glowing reviews. I am so sorry. I had no idea. But I was just there this morning. I gazed into the pastry case at the croissants, and my heart sank. I felt sick. The croissants looked like something you would see in an airport. I think the croissants at Costco might be better. These were flat, flabby, and pale things. Far from the perfect, golden, flaky, structured, glistening beauties of the past. And this isn't about fond recollections. I have receipts. Photos from the past and pictures of the present. It's night and day. If the new owners aren't going to preserve Mrs. London's food, they should have the decency to put someone else's name on the joint. I too asked about the breads, and was told "their baker retired". Fortunately, Michael London taught other people to bake amazing artisan bread, and his legacy lives on elsewhere. Unfortunately, nobody at the shop bearing his name bothered to pick up the torch. What a shame. It is so sad. I am literally heart broken. This was one of my favorite bakeries in the country. I went out of my way to make a special stop in my limited time passing through the region. But I suppose nothing lasts forever, and this is a valuable reminder of that unfortunate fact. My days visiting Mrs. London's are over. I can no longer recommend it in good conscience. Perhaps the hot chocolate is still good, and the decor is still lovely. However, if you look closely at the glowing reviews, they all point back to a time that has now sadly passed.

So glad that we did because we kept going and ended up at Apple Barrel Country Store. We were going to run in and ask for directions but were so charmed by the store, we decided to explore and eventually made our way to the restaurant. It was perfect timing for a late lunch and we requested to be seated outside on their deck overlooking the mountains of our beautiful state. Our server was the sweetest and took great care of us even though they were busy and seemingly short staffed. I ordered the AB combo with a choice of soup and sandwich and both my selections were so good. Corn chowder and Turkey sandwich. The blueberry mint lemonade I had was the perfect accompaniment. We made our way back to the store for some retail therapy and headed home after a lovely afternoon. The blueberry peach pie for dessert at home was so yummy.
