CHECK IF YOUR FOOD IS COOKED Foremost I just want to say this is the first review I've ever posted simply because I'm not that kind of guy, but I want everyone else to be safe when eating from this place so just as a precautionary I'll post my experience. I knew the prior owner Mina would never let this happen and I've heard you're under new management and it shows. I Just picked up a sloppy chicken from an order over the phone and I don't remember them asking me if I wanted it medium rare. I had so much faith in this place that I took two bites out of a half not even thinking it would be raw before looking at the inside - hopefully I won't get food poisoning. I had the decency to call you and explain the situation and you offered to cook another one for me. I was not able to drive back 20 minutes again to pick up another order so I thought the least you could do was deliver me a cooked one. The answer I got was a No because they don't have any delivery drivers and the only option was that I can come pick up another one. The business under prior management actually generated enough revenue to support it's own delivery drivers (some of which were my friends). It's clearly become a pretty sad joint now but I strongly recommend if you decide to eat from this place that you inspect your food before becoming sick. read more

Ordered $90 worth of wings and it only came enough to feed probably two people. Definitely not worth and would avoid. Said 1lb was 8 wings but when we weighed our '2lb' wings it was about 1lb with the box. Complete rip off and would not suggest. read more

We decided to come here today as it was my co-worker's turn to select lunch for Friday. I looked at the menu and since they had a special going on until June 1st (Buy one pound get one pound for free) I knew I'd be getting wings. This place is inside a small strip mall near Upper Middle and Headon and this place is basically a take out and delivery kind of establishment. While they have some tables, they are only tables for 2. There are about 3 down a hall and a couple at the front of the store. Everybody ordering there was taking out it seemed. We learned today that it's probably best to call in or order online ahead of time. We arrived around 12:10pm and didn't leave with all of our orders (3 of us) until about 12:45. The place was pretty busy. There was a lot of people coming in and the phone was ringing as well. They can only fry so much chicken in the time it takes to properly cook it. When I received my wings, these are some of the largest chicken wings I've ever seen to point it was was almost a concern. I've never had such large, meaty wings in my life. I had ordered a pound of Jerk and a pound of Dry Cajun. The breading was done very well. The flavors were both very good. The Jerk because they were sauced seemed to get a little soggy as I received my food before my 2 coworkers. I ended up eating my fries while waiting for their food to come out. The dry Cajun were amazing. The wings were not sauced (dry of course) so they remained crunchy and the spices were very good. Fried chicken done properly considering the wings were very large, it would take extra time to cook these wings through and through. The drumlets had perhaps more meat than some thighs I've had before. The flats were also very meaty and very filling. With the 2 pounds I had about 15 wings or so. The split from flats to drumlets was about 50/50 even. I was really full after the small fries and those wings. Normally with normal sized wings I can eat 30+ no problem. These wings were very large, meaty and filling. On average each wing would cost about just under 2 bucks each. This would make sense considering the size of them. Each one is easily 2 to 3 times larger than an average sized chicken wing. We had an order take out menu so the flavors weren't really explained. The flavors were better explained on the in store menu. I was looking for "Buffalo" and I now know it's called "Swamp Sauce" aka New York butter etc. They also have sandwiches and boneless etc. It's not only chicken wings. The issue is the wait. The demand for now is really high perhaps because of the 2 for 1 special but we have learned for future to order ahead. This place can only cook so many wings in so much time and lunch being prime time well you get the picture. read more

Our Friday lunch excursions led us in search of chicken and so we ventured out to The Wingery. As the name suggests this is a place you go if you are in the mood for wings. They also have other chicken dishes like tenders and sandwiches as well. The Food The food was good. I had chicken fingers with Thai sauce and I liked it. Lambert got 2 pounds of wings and they were the biggest wings I had ever seen. Ryan ate a chicken sandwich. For the price it was a pretty good deal. The Location The Wingery is located in a strip mall with tons of parking which is nice. Inside it is very clean and well kept. There is a small a mount of seating, a couple 2 person tables, but not much else inside. The Service This is the only place I had a problem with. Let me start by saying that the staff were nice and helpful, my problem was that they food was very slow to come out. We arrived at 12:07 and did not receive our orders until 12:48. Apparently there were several larger orders placed that clogged up the kitchen and I understand that but waiting over 40 minutes for fried chicken and wings was just to much for me. If I eat from there again I would definitely order well in advance to make sure I wasn't stuck in the same situation. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. I feel that a one star rating is giving this place too much credit. Ordered last night and it was terrible. The chicken was clearly cooked earlier and recooked when I ordered. It was so dry and nasty that it wasn't even edible. It's pretty sad that the best thing on the menu is an appetizer that was pre-made frozen food. How do you call yourself the Wingery and you can't come close to making decent wings? Food quality is hit or miss - we always do sloppy parm sandwiches. I've ordered from the Oakville one for years and their quality is always on point. First time we ordered from here on SKIP and the food was delivered hot but over cooked, dry and quite gross. Second time we ordered direct online for pick up and it was juicy and delicious! Both times ordered extra sloppy and it was hardly sloppy.. don't waste your money. Still not bad value if you don't feel like spending a ton of money on SKIP or don't want fast food. read more

Placed an order tonight through skip the dishes. Chicken sandwich, cactus chips and a drink. Order came and when I opened my sandwich there was a Sharpie marker lid wrapped up in my sandwich. I immediately emailed and then called the restaurant. Person on the phone said they were busy and put me on hold. 5-8mins later I was hung up on. Called back three times and no one answered. Luckily skip the dishes refunded me for my order. This isn't the first time I've had problems with this location. They've sent cold and raw food, sent the wrong items (and told us it's cause they were sold out of the items I ordered.. why not call me and let me order something I wanted?) and missing items. Salmonella!!! Normally this is our go to wing place. We have it once a week as our treat. In the last two months everything has gone downhill. The second last time we ordered, both my husband and my wings had virtually no sauce/flavour. You have to pay extra for wings to be actually sauced. Extra for dipping sauces too (included at other wing places). So, We tried again yesterday and not only was it the same poorly sauced and overly greasy, my chicken was UNDERCOOKED!!! Now you see I feel like dying because I have salmonellosis. Even though it was only three wings I ate after realizing they weren't just off, they were not fully cooked! On Saturday night we decided to order from The Wingery - what an enormous disappointment! We ordered a combo (2lbs, with 6 perogies, garlic bread and 2 cans of pop). Having heard reviews from others that the service is mediocre but the wings are worth it - we figured we'd give it a go. We placed our order at 6:50pm on their website and received our order confirmation stating we would receive our order within 60mins. At 8:05pm we called the store to inquire the status on our order - I'm a patient person but this seemed like an excessive wait. The man on the phone is in need of some customer service training. "I don't know...it should be there" was all I got. There was a long silent pause, at which he finally said "okay?....well i guess i could call the delivery guy?" and hung up. At this point I just assumed it wasn't coming. At 8:14pm our dinner arrived. (I will note that the young man that delivered our food was very polite and friendly). Unfortunately this was not a case of it being "worth the wait" Our food was cold, the garlic bread was hard and the wings were very disappointing. In addition to being cold the wings were tough and bland. Ordered wings from this place on Monday night for delivery. Driver called when he got my apartment building, said he couldn't come up as the debit machine didn't work upstairs (I was paying cash) but I sent my son down to get the food. Opened the box and hoped it tasted better than it looked. Not so, the wings were burned and tasteless and no sauce at all. I couldn't even identify the texture of the meat. After 3 wings between my son and I we just stopped eating. It was awful. I called the store and politely asked to speak to the manager. Mike on the other end of the phone informed me he was the manager. I explained about the state of the wings and the guy lost his mind. He was screaming he made the wings and they were great. I beg to differ. I told him he could come pick up the wings and give me a refund to which he continued screaming and using the F word very frequently telling me I was not getting a refund. I asked for his bosses phone number and he refused. I called the Oakville location to see if I could get the number from them. The manager there told me they always get complaints about the Burlington location but he couldn't give me a number to call either. Sorry what. What reputable company does not have a customer number you can call, nothing online no help from the stores. This guy needs to go. These guys are up and down with their service. Ordered 4lbs of wings today with poutine and Family size rings and was told delivery would be around 5:20pm. Called the store at 5:35 and was told the driver left at 5pm and she did not where he was, but he should be here any minute. Driver arrived at 5:50pm and I asked him the food was still hot as he left the store at 5pm - he said that he just left the store only a few minutes ago. Bottom-line, the rings were definitely driven around for awhile - lukewarm at best and soft. the wings were good, but they got the order wrong and gave me dry cajun instead of dry franks - thank god I was hungry! I am writing this review because I hate being lied to - I know the driver was not telling the truth.
