We decided to come here today as it was my co-worker's turn to select lunch for Friday. I looked at the menu and since they had a special going on until June 1st (Buy one pound get one pound for free) I knew I'd be getting wings. This place is inside a small strip mall near Upper Middle and Headon and this place is basically a take out and delivery kind of establishment. While they have some tables, they are only tables for 2. There are about 3 down a hall and a couple at the front of the store. Everybody ordering there was taking out it seemed. We learned today that it's probably best to call in or order online ahead of time. We arrived around 12:10pm and didn't leave with all of our orders (3 of us) until about 12:45. The place was pretty busy. There was a lot of people coming in and the phone was ringing as well. They can only fry so much chicken in the time it takes to properly cook it. When I received my wings, these are some of the largest chicken wings I've ever seen to point it was was almost a concern. I've never had such large, meaty wings in my life. I had ordered a pound of Jerk and a pound of Dry Cajun. The breading was done very well. The flavors were both very good. The Jerk because they were sauced seemed to get a little soggy as I received my food before my 2 coworkers. I ended up eating my fries while waiting for their food to come out. The dry Cajun were amazing. The wings were not sauced (dry of course) so they remained crunchy and the spices were very good. Fried chicken done properly considering the wings were very large, it would take extra time to cook these wings through and through. The drumlets had perhaps more meat than some thighs I've had before. The flats were also very meaty and very filling. With the 2 pounds I had about 15 wings or so. The split from flats to drumlets was about 50/50 even. I was really full after the small fries and those wings. Normally with normal sized wings I can eat 30+ no problem. These wings were very large, meaty and filling. On average each wing would cost about just under 2 bucks each. This would make sense considering the size of them. Each one is easily 2 to 3 times larger than an average sized chicken wing. We had an order take out menu so the flavors weren't really explained. The flavors were better explained on the in store menu. I was looking for "Buffalo" and I now know it's called "Swamp Sauce" aka New York butter etc. They also have sandwiches and boneless etc. It's not only chicken wings. The issue is the wait. The demand for now is really high perhaps because of the 2 for 1 special but we have learned for future to order ahead. This place can only cook so many wings in so much time and lunch being prime time well you get the picture.

Our Friday lunch excursions led us in search of chicken and so we ventured out to The Wingery. As the name suggests this is a place you go if you are in the mood for wings. They also have other chicken dishes like tenders and sandwiches as well. The Food The food was good. I had chicken fingers with Thai sauce and I liked it. Lambert got 2 pounds of wings and they were the biggest wings I had ever seen. Ryan ate a chicken sandwich. For the price it was a pretty good deal. The Location The Wingery is located in a strip mall with tons of parking which is nice. Inside it is very clean and well kept. There is a small a mount of seating, a couple 2 person tables, but not much else inside. The Service This is the only place I had a problem with. Let me start by saying that the staff were nice and helpful, my problem was that they food was very slow to come out. We arrived at 12:07 and did not receive our orders until 12:48. Apparently there were several larger orders placed that clogged up the kitchen and I understand that but waiting over 40 minutes for fried chicken and wings was just to much for me. If I eat from there again I would definitely order well in advance to make sure I wasn't stuck in the same situation.

This was the amount of meat on my sand witch

They make good food but they don't give you enough for what you pay for my pulled porch sandwich had practically nothing in it

Thanks for the marker cap Wingery!!

Was at the location near work the night before, My cousin requested to eat here for her birthday,…read moreso I took her here. This location, the waitress was super nice and the restaurant was nice and clean. It didn't take us long to get seated, but the food did take a while. I didn't have a good experience with the wings the night before, but I thought different location let us see what this is about, and again I was disappointed in the wings, however I tried the burger my cousin order and that was amazing. so it seems like all other items are a better choice from the wings. I have truly learned my lessons and I will stick to the burgers and other items rather than falling for my craving weakness of wings only to be disappointed. The waitress here was super nice, best service I have seen and she was running the show by herself, so kudos to her for all her hard work and maintaining a positive to the customers.

I'll start off by saying I've been to the original Anchor in Buffalo but I was going to the…read moreBurlington location not necessarily looking to compare to the original. In all honestly I wasn't impressed with the original Anchor at all really. Their pizza was very greasy and the wings were just meh. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that when you think of the original birthplace of Buffalo wings that your expectations get set a bit high? Perhaps... Anyway I was going to take this Anchor on its own merits with no comparison to the original so I won't. The location for this restaurant is where a Shoeless Joe's used to be and that Shoeless Joe's I hate to say I could see why it closed... It wasn't good when it was there. This replacement place isn't bad but my first impression is that it's not necessarily great either. I don't know if it's just me or what but the prices for this place seem rather high for the type of fare they serve. 8 wings for 14 dollars? Being a lover of chicken wings I can tell anybody that you can get wings for more reasonable prices just about anywhere. Because of the prices I was simply turned away from that option. Knowing what I know about the wings in Buffalo (I said I wasn't going to compare and in the end I didn't) they weren't blow me away anyway. The only place where 8 wings would probably fill me up is at Crisp in Chicago where they are giant and unsplit (basically double) and I wasn't going to have what would equate to an appetizer to fill me up for lunch. I'm a big guy... I need not just quality but quantity too. To me the wings just didn't seem to be a good bang for the buck. Looking over the rest of the menu I decided to go with the beef on weck for a few reasons. One is that you can't get this just anywhere here. Buffalo is close to where we live but this particular food item is not on every pub's menu so to speak. It was a change for your everyday type of food that we can get anywhere here. Surprisingly they offer poutine here, surprise surprise... any place that serves fries in Canada has poutine it's almost automatic. The beef on weck came with a side of fries for 15 bucks. I figured I'd get this since really it's an upgrade to a burger and again it's sort of a special item. The serving size was just about right. It didn't seem skimped on the meat and but it wasn't overkill at all either but it was a fair serving. The bun of course is the star of this dish though. The "weck" or bun is basically a bun that has caraway and kosher salt on it and it adds a particular taste to the sandwich. I sort of had wished I had more horseradish but either way the first few bites I had without the au jus just to get the taste. The beef seemed to be medium well type but it was juicy enough. I kind of wished it was more red, medium maybe. If I was asked (if they serve it that way) I would have asked for medium rare-ish but at the end of the day the sandwich was very good. My critique to this place is that their prices seem to be sort of higher than normal across the board. I had ordered a pint of Goose Island IPA and that was 8 dollars. With wings being almost 2 dollars each and pints in the 8 dollar range it makes me wonder how long this place will stick around with the competition for pub type fare in Burlington is rather fierce. In the end the Anchor is a decent place to go but it just seems to be more expensive than other places which are very similar in the immediate area. While I had a dish that isn't normally available everywhere else, most of what they have on the menu pretty much is as global and universal as you can get. If I would come back to the Anchor honestly it would be just for the beef on weck and not too much else, wings included. I'd put Korean fried chicken up against any other type of fried chicken these days, even an affiliate of the originator of Buffallo wings...

When…read moreI ordered the honey hot wings I would not expecting it to be so hot that I couldn't taste the honey and all I could taste was the hot sauce. I brought it back assuming I got the wrong thing and when given the replacement I got cheese sticks. Good thing I checked. 5 mins later I got back the same wings I originally ordered. I originally ordered 3lbs in two trays and this new tray only had 1lb of wings. She proceeded to tell me that now they are at a financial loss because of my order. I said I didn't care because as a customer if I'm telling you it's not what I ordered it's your job to fix the problem. She then proceeded to grab both trays and was likely to refund me the entire bill but I had eaten some of the wings and wanted to keep them. She then refunded me half or the $32 (minus tax/ minus tip). Although I will be at this place regularly for my daughter's hockey practices and some games this place will never see me. I don't like bad service. I don't like wasting my money. I don't like arguing with staff about my food. I want it to be right and if it's not right, make it right. I don't want drama. It spoils my appetite and pisses me off. To add insult to injury, when she originally brought me the food she said the 3lbs of wings are not supposed to be in containers because they are to be eaten inside the restaurant. I reassured her I was staying to eat but I didn't think I would be able to finish which is why I wanted the to go containers. I told her that she would have given them to me regardless so I didn't understand what difference it made. Ugh! Miserable meal. Miserable customer service. Please do better.

None of our food was on time (got carrots and celery 20 minutes before wings, got 2 sets of fries,…read moreone incorrect, quiet a few minutes later got the rest of our fries, then 10 minutes got our wings in 5 minute increments of each other) finally we're eating, spinach dip is watery and tasteless. Wings were all over cooked, and wrong flavoured. Lastly order two kids pizzas (supposed to come with fries, they didn't) and two ice teas. Finally the bills...have had a table of 3 bills, the waitress was quite confused on how to break this up...then gave one of our bills with a $3.50 kids ice tea, and the other not...when asked about it we were told ice tea wasn't part of the kids meal, we then pointed it out in the menu and was told the system was broken and they couldn't take it off.
