A "Finger Licking Good" classic fried chicken franchise. Mary Browns has always appeared to me as an upscale fried chicken restaurant due its higher prices compared to its direct competitor. With high prices comes high expectations as quoted from Spider-Man I think... The restaurants interior is clean and spacious. It's also the only fast food restaurant in the plaza to have an outdoor patio. For food we ordered the spicy 9 piece chicken with fries and chicken tender on the side. Also got coleslaw and gravy. The chicken pieces were fairly large and the spice had a nice kick, but the chicken wasn't as crispy as other places and the flavour was fairly lacking. The chicken tenders were large but fairly bland. The coleslaw the chicken came with was not anything remarkable. Maybe we just came on a bad day, maybe I've been to too many top class fried chicken places, but this visit did not convince me that it could satisfy my fried chicken fix

Great fried chicken. Not too greasy. Love the pickle too! Always made fresh to order.

Good Location | Decent Service | Good Deals When the world was on a chicken sandwich kick, so was I and I vowed to try as many sandwiches as possible. I heard a lot of good things about Mary Brown's. I figured an establishment that's all about chicken would have the best chicken sandwich. I believe at this time they were having a promo - which was more of a reason to try 'em. The location I went to is on Erin Parkway and rather new. The parking lot is large and there's lots of other restaurants around so it's easily accessible by car. As for the sandwich, I opted for the original because I wasn't sure if the spicy was covered in a sauce. I didn't want a soggy sandy. The lettuce was a great touch and of course the pickle on top was a nice touch. The original was pretty good! It was well seasoned but it could have used more mayo and/or whatever sauce was supposed to be. The fries were good as well and really gave the "fresh cut" vibe. I'll admit this wasn't my favourite chicken sandwich but it was a decent contender! I am now curious to try Mary Brown's stand along chicken meals!

SPECIAL COVID-19 EDITION REVIEW: SAFETY PRACTICES, PROTOCOLS AND MORE. NOTE: THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO HAS STOPPED IN RESTAURANT DINING IN TORONTO UNTIL THE 14TH OF NOVEMBER AND NEIGHBOURING CITIES AS OF NOVEMBER 7, 2020 ARE LIMITED TO 10 PEOPLE TO DINE INSIDE DUE TO SIGNIFICANT RISE IN COVID CASES Mary Browns is not anywhere I've ever been before but they had a promotion and I figured why not? They have a "Big Mary" which is a chicken burger for free right now if you download the app. They don't require you to buy anything, it's more of a sample, if anything. I went to my local Mary Browns, and because COVID is getting out of control in Ontario, I asked if they'd be so kind as to bring it curbside. They were very nice both on the phone and in person. The burger tasted average. For a retail price of $7, it's not worth $7 (sorry Mary Browns). It tastes like a Burger King chicken sandwich (if you grew up in the Toronto area, remember those $5 for 2 chicken burgers on Tuesday's at Burger King? Basically one of those) There's some sauce that tastes and looks like mayo, they didn't cheap out on the mayo, and there was a pickle on top, but for $7, I can't justify that burger. However, I'll definitely be back to try some of their fried chicken though. Nice people, decent food (it wasn't that bad) and I'm interested to see what their fried chicken looks like. Be careful in the parking lot though. The area is very new and it's easy to get into an accident here. 4/5

First time I've had fried chicken here, heard it was good, and that was all the convincing I needed. The $5 2pc chicken + tater special I had was a very good deal and had good portion size. Since fried chicken is quite oily, two pieces is really enough, even if you aren't a small eater. There were lots of taters in there too. The brick sized box was crammed to the top with food and I was completely stuffed. More importantly though, the chicken (I chose spicy) was seasoned very well, full of flavour, and had just enough heat where there's spice but you aren't quite spitting fire. Some other places season only the breading but the chicken meat itself was seasoned here, which I really liked. The taters were fried to perfection, not excessively oily and seasoned well. They leaned towards being more like potato wedges than fries. All in all its a pretty heavy meal but one that tasted fantastic and came at a great price. I definitely come back soon; I don't quite know when the special is going to end but I'm going to try and have it again before it does

This is one of my favourite places for fried chicken. Good service good food especially the big Mary (chicken sandwich) for a pretty good deal and the taters are the best but they're quite expensive. Also I tried the tenders and they don't have seasoning on them they just taste like chicken which is quite disappointing. Nevertheless had a good meal and didn't have to wait at all in line because its not in a busy location.

I tried the spicy big mary and the poutine with potato wedges. The spicy big mary was great, not too spicy and the chicken and was decently juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside without being greasy. The poutine was just ok, some of the potato wedges were very sad looking and dried out and the gravy was okay. However, the cheese curds they used were nice and squeaky! It was kept very clean for a fast food joint and the staff was very nice.

The restaurant seating area is really big but the tables are sparse. There are a few booths towards the edges and one high top in the middle. It wasn't busy at all so we had time to look at the menu. I liked that they had the calorie information on the menu since fried chicken can add up pretty quick. I went with the two piece combo. This comes with a choice of side and a fountain drink. They have Coke fountain drinks. There was a sign that if you wanted a refill, you must ask the employees for help. They have paper straws that were pretty sturdy and lasted throughout the meal. They may have had a slight paper flavour however. The chicken did not look appetizing at all. I think the oil was way too cold when they started frying because it was a pale yellowy colour with the smoothest fry I've ever seen on the outside. This is sort of unheard of but I picked up all the skin and discarded it. It was flavourless and not worth eating. The chicken underneath was actually quite moist though which was nice. The chicken pieces were really small. Normally you get a drumstick and thigh at any of these places. It was no different here but they were small. I normally can't finish all of the thigh piece but I easily finished it. The fries were pretty good though. The honey butter biscuit was alright. It was fluffy on the inside. Smaller than the Popeyes ones. The total for lunch was $27. Not unexpected these days but the quality of food was not there.

Each bite was a perfect combination of savory, spicy, and sloppy - everything you look for in a fantastic burger. The fries were golden, crispy, and well-seasoned; there's no need for ketchup unless you're a die-hard dipper. My kids ordered the Chicken Tender Platter with Fries. The tenders were juicy and crunchy, definitely produced from fresh ingredients rather than the usual frozen stuff available elsewhere. This eatery takes me twenty minutes to backroad it along Eglinton Avenue West from the office, followed by hanging a left to get to the eatery. This eatery is located in a huge plaza with a ton of eateries and businesses. I lot of these eateries have Halal offerings. I backed into an available spot steps away from Chachu's main entrance and walked in. Staff are extremely friendly and patient. I have consumed the following items in the past: - Chapli beef kebab bowl - Chicken tikka wrap - Tandoori chicken wrap - Canada Dry - Coke Zero The food is Pakistani with a modern twist. The portions are generous. The chapli beef kebab was incredible. The kebab had the best crispy edges around each beef kebab patty. I got two patties that were flavourful and juicy. I liked the salad. The beef kebab had a bit of spice. The salad provided a nice contrast and cooling factor. The rice was fluffy and excellent. This entire meal was filling. I knew that I couldn't down any of the wraps. My canned beverages were cold and refreshing. No complaints. I had both wraps at home. I heated these wraps up in the microwave. I dampened a paper towel and placed it over both wraps, which rehydrates them as they warm up. The chicken tikka was tender. It has more of a spice kick than the tandoori chicken. I liked the diced, sautéed onion and green pepper, along with the sauces. It was so good with the paratha as the wrapper. It was comfort food in a convenient grab-and-go, no-fuss bundle of deliciousness. The tandoori chicken was equally as amazing. The chicken morsels were moist with the perfect tandoori flavour. The paratha and the sauces made this wrap a winner with the tandoori chicken. On this visit, I got the milk cake. He let me know that it was delivered fresh on Tuesday. I was here on a Wednesday. I was the only individual in the restaurant, which was to be expected considering the weather. When I had first walked in, I was surprised at how clean and spacious the restaurant was. This place was geared more towards take-out, as there were only a few tables set-up for dining. However, there was a lot of floor space, which made it easy to maneuver around the restaurant. I had approached the front counter, and explained where I was from, and what I was doing. The man behind the counter was young, and very friendly; he told me to choose two wraps, two drinks, and the type of meat that I wanted for my bowl. I settled on the tandoori chicken bowl with rice and fries, and the beef paratha roll, along with the chicken tikka paratha roll. My order was taken and prepared by the same individual that I had seen when I first walked-in. Since it was only me in the restaurant, service was quick. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much food I was given! One large container of rice with tandoori chicken and french fries on top, then topped with a delicious sauce; such a well-prepared and amazing dish! Everything was fresh and tasty; the chicken was tender and flavourful, while the fries were crunchy, adding a nice crunch to the dish. The rolls were even better; the beef paratha roll had tender pieces of beef, rolled in a soft paratha, with sauce dispersed over the beef. The chicken tikka roll was just as yummy however, I definitely enjoyed the beef roll the most. Overall, this place really impressed me; the service was excellent, along with the casual setting, and the relaxed atmosphere. The food was a large portion, and filled me up completely. Very excellent prices as well, and food was authentic. Would most definitely come back to this restaurant, and would urge you all to try it as well; you won't regret it!
