The Best Mahi Mahi sandwich I have ever eaten: the fish was fresh, a large thick portion, seasoned well and perfectly prepared. I just had to say something. Awesome sweet fries and fresh bread too. They were very busy at lunch, and I was dining alone. They still treated me like I was special and the food was served quickly at perfect temp. If you are from around here you know this is a jewel. I am very happy to see this restaurant is still just as good as the first week they were open. Same great food and service as when the whole family is with me for dinner. First timer! Been eye'ing this place for a while and finally made it for lunch today (they close at 2pm). --Chicken Pesto sandwich (with fries): Delicious. Perfect blackened chicken and pesto sauce. The bread was seasoned as well. Portioning could have been better though- the meal came with only half a sandwhich but a bunch of steel cut fries. --Creme Brûlée: Delicious and creamy. The fresh strawberries and blueberries paired really well with it. ONLY NEGATIVE: Prices are a bit too high. $8-9 for a dessert item? They were good...but still just standard sizes. Esp for a casual dining place like this, wish they dropped the prices... at least on the desserts. Servers were kind, atmosphere was super cute. The outdoor seating area is a back porch with grape vines running all through out. Perfect spot to converse with friends on a nice day out. Visiting the area and looked to yelp for a great dinner spot. The staff all work together and make it a wonderful experience. Like other say, don't pass on the complementary bread with olive oil. The bread was warm and the recipe they use for the dip is amazing. I asked for recommendations on the salad and ordered the Mediterranean, which was a small upgrade ($2) and worth it. Very fresh, amazing dressing and big squares of good feta. The shrimp and grits were as great as promised with Gouda cheese and about 5 large shrimp. I can't wait to go back! Just went a few days ago for our 26th anniversary dinner before heading out of town. This is literally some of the absolute BEST food in Northwest Florida!!!! Everything is homemade and quality! We got the loaded fries for an app for the first time and WOW! The homemade fries with tons of real bacon pieces, cheese sauce, and ranch were so good words cannot describe! Then I tried the pecan crusted pork and it was beyond amazing and my man got the chicken and waffles and whatever that bourbon maple butter syrup stuff on top was just like a kiss from food heaven - the desserts are top tier and I just appreciate this hometown restaurant for making it through COVID and still serving our community amazing meals - You guys rock! read more

It's a sad day in Crestview FL. Having dinner tonight at The Wild Olive. I have eaten here several.times before and it has always been a great experience, until tonight. I ordered the chicken parm with EASY red sauce since ALL red sauce meals are too much for me in my old age. My wife ordered the filet, medium rare with mashed potatoes. Our food came out and instantly I could tell there was too much red sauce and would not be able to eat it. The chicken was dry and almost bland. My wife's filet was almost cooked to well done. The mgr asked if everything was OK, and offered to remake the filet. The new filet came back, made to order, but the mashed potatoes were cold. I REALLY hope this isn't going to be the new norm. read more

Mahi is one of my favorite fish and I never miss an opportunity to order this from a lunch menu I ordered it blackened. It wasn't really cooked blackened... the fish was ok but lacked good flavor. The bun they served it on should be changed to ciabatta or something with a little more depth. The bun was like a basic hamburger bun and got soggy easily. Had the ribeye steak a little salty but cooked great. The sides mashed potatoes were very good and the fresh green beans were excellent. Salad was out too long with a little dressing--could have used a lot more. The restaurant had a rustic theme but was clean and seating was spread out. Service was adequate. They do up charge when using credit card. Dinner for a steak is about $40. read more

Wow!!! We not expecting this level of cruising just minutes away from our home. Recently relocating to Crestview from Colorado, my husband and I have been trying née places around town-- and this one does NOT disappoint. The staff was friendly, and our waitress was kind, informative, and soft spoken (which I REALLY appreciated). They bring out complimentary in-house baked bread and it was lovely! My husband and I couldn't get enough. For an entree, I ordered the snapper (which was the catch of the day I believe), and it came with grits and a side salad. The salad was amazing, the dressing I chose was also made in-house and uh-mazing! I'm not usually into grits, but these were INCREDIBLE! I really appreciated the fact that the chef did not over season the snapper, because the grits were fantastic; they had so much flavor and with the snapper was well balanced. We did order chocolate cake to-go (also made in house) and wow wow wow We will be back! I look forward to trying more dishes-- and dessert! read more

I ordered the turkey, bacon & Gouda sandwich on a brioche bun. The bun was excellent, nicely toasted and soft, but the sandwich part was dry. The thick cut turkey and bacon were dried out and hard to chew. The chipotle ranch dressing helped a little, but it was super thin and runny. Taste overall was good, but it being dry and hard to chew made me say I'd never recommend it. Another person in our party ordered the cheeseburger medium rare. It came out well done and dried out. So maybe it's a cook issue. Don't know, but until we got to dessert, we were pretty sure we'd never go back. The vanilla bean cheesecake and the Creme brûlée's were AMAZING! read more
