I ordered the reuben (substituted sauerkraut with coleslaw) and funnel cake fries. Both were a solid 5. They were both phenomenal! I couldn't stop raving about them. The reuben is likely the best I've ever had anywhere. Also our server, Lauren, was amazing! She was friendly and attentive, checking on us frequently to see if we needed anything. Told hubby when we go to our friend's house nearby we will need to drop by again. Love the food!!

I was in my office that day in Columbia & had close work travel that afternoon to Ellicott City. Rather than make the long commute back to my home at the time Arlington, VA, I sometimes did things after work like go to Meetup group or other activities to avoid traffic. On this day, I had a date. She lived in Carroll County like Sykesville or Eldersburg. I had met her at a Meetup group, got her #, and got a date set up. She wanted to enjoy St. Patty's Day at Ten Oaks Tavern. It was a cool place, had some green beer, and it was a good date overall although it was a bit crowded and noisy, but it was St. Patty's Day. Staff was nice as I recall. Afterward, made the long drive back home and late a late bite at like Wendy's close to home at like 11 o'clock at night as I might've had a big and/or late lunch that day. Perhaps, we split an appetizer, but there wasn't any seating, we were standing the whole time some of which at the bar, would've been tough to eat here. Overall, Ten Oaks Tavern was a solid bar, which I'd return if I was ever over here.

It's been a bit so this is an update. Came here for dinner about a week ago. I love this place,…read moreit's cozy and like a little hidden gem. Food is always great, as is the service. There were 5 of us, we had the cheese curds (always delicious), tried the crab nachos (surprisingly good) as apps. Ordered the crab soup. I was expecting more of a cream crab soup but that was my fault as it wasn't listed as such and it's a reddish sauce kind of a minestrone with the veggies in it. We ordered shrimp and grits, I was told it was good with a little spice. Two of us ordered the salmon with crab/corn risotto (delicious). Mac and cheese ordered from apps menu, but as meal and the last meal was a pasta chicken dish. Great experience again!

I went with my kids, husband, and a set of grandparents. The restaurant was loud, but made it perfect for my young kids that added to it. The grandparents felt as though they were yelling. The server was quick and friendly. The food was also quick. We ordered and the appetizers were out about 10 minutes later. The burrata pizzetta was fantastic. We felt the cheese curds lacked cheese and were a bit greasy. My Cobb salad was good, but nothing amazing. I also asked for dressing on the side, but it came out dressed. My kids LOVED their pizza. My son was so happy with it he was dancing in his seat. We will be going back. I would just order differently next time. The happy hour also look exciting!

For the amount I paid ($22 for oxtail/ $13 for bbq pork/ $4 per drink), I was pretty disappointed. There was barely much meat in both meals, mostly bones and the rice that came with the meals was super dry, almost seemed like it was undercooked. The bbq pork was delicious but again, barely much meat. The oxtail meal was so bland, both the oxtail and mac and cheese didn't have much flavor, just bit of salt. Not sure if I'll give it another try.

I ordered the jerk chick white and it comes with rice and peas and cabbage. I also requested curry sauce on my rice and peas and cabbage. The jerk chick was tender, flavorful and prepared perfectly. She also asked if I wanted to try the spicy sauce on top and of course I did. The cabbage was the shredded type which I don't prefer but if it taste good I wouldn't care about it being shredded. The rice and peas and cabbage had no taste at all. She added curry sauce on the sides and it still was flavorless. I was a tad bit disappointed in the sides not having flavor because the the chicken was quite tasty. My meal was $10. Hopefully it was just a bad day for seasoning of the food‍

We walked into the restaurant and stood at the hostess stand and no one came to seat us so we went to the bar to seat ourselves. The restaurant was beautiful and had a great nautical theme. The bartender was very sarcastic and didn't seem like he cared much about still being at work. We sat down at 8:30pm and by 8:45pm, we got the feeling they were cleaning up for closing.. at 10:00pm. I even asked if Google was correct about the close time because it was so off putting. We tried two beers from the tap and they were flat and awful tasting. We even switched one out because it tasted like a wet rag. We ordered our dinners and were surprised at how good it was. I got the "Spaghetti and Meatballs" which is shrimp and lump crab meat made into small balls over linguini with a garlic Alfredo sauce, served with garlic toast. My boyfriend got the Lump Crab Cake sandwich and fries. We agreed that the food was good and came out hot and well seasoned. There were only two other people in the whole restaurant besides us and when they left, it was as if we didn't really exist. Lights were being turned off, dishes and bar was being cleaned, they closed the entrance doors and I had to use my flashlight on my phone to get to the bathroom. The whole time, the owner was sitting at the end of the bar having loud private conversations with her staff who were ordering food from the kitchen at the same time as us. All very strange and not inviting. Probably not going back, and maybe this was a weird one off, but it was so off putting for us. Maybe they are more professional at a peak time of service but I was shocked they were treating it like they were closed at an hour and a half before closing.
