    Hotdog and Cheese Pretzel

Very delicious hot dog and I don't normally like hot dogs. The pretzel bun was perfection and the cheese was crispy goodness. The service was nice too, the man working there seemed like a kind person.

Person working the station was super friendly and helpful in selecting a Glizzy. It was made to order and came out fresh and delicious. Gave me just a bit of time to check out the rest of the food vendors. Great little spot to try something different!

Who's a good dog? You're a good dog! Creative toppings in a food-court-type setting. Nomadic Glizzy (said "izzy", not "itzy) is fairly new (opened Jan. 2025), a gourmet hot dog stand in the Common Kitchen stand-alone food court and market, on MD-108 Clarksville Pike, just south of a fast-food burger joint, just north of MD-32. There's a lot of parking out back, and a good amount of indoor and umbrella-ed outdoor seating. This stand-alone food court has around 8 different booths, so your group can each find a meal they like, and there are shelves along one wall with various foods and products from each food-stand. Glizzy is directly in front of you as you walk in. I think they open at 11am. Service was friendly and quick around 12:30pm on a Monday. The menu is mostly loaded hot dogs, and also loaded baked potatoes, lots of sides, and something called a "octo-dog"(!), which I am going to guess is cut at one end to curl into 8 arms! Kids (and dads) would enjoy that! There are a good number of varieties of dogs on the menu, and you can ask them to build-to-order, too. And there's a bunch of soft drinks to choose from. We came for the Chicago-"ish" dog. Biggest plus: Poppyseeds (with "everything" flavors) on the Italian roll! Yes! You just dont find poppyseed buns around here, and it's a critical feature of a genuine Chicago Dog! The bread is fresh. The all-beef dog is hot and juicy with a pleasantly-light garlic flavor. It is truly "dragged through the garden", with generous dill-pickle chips, relish, hot peppers (jalapeños, i think), sliced tomato, diced white onion, and (i think) celery salt. It is served with chips and tangy dijon mustard, which we kept on the side. This is a good dog! If it's not obvious, i'm fussy about Chicago Dogs, so here's some fussing. I was so happy that there were poppy seeds on the bun that i can accept the "everything" sesame, onions, and garlic on the bun :-). Dijon mustard is Not authentic for this dog, it ought to be good old yellow mustard, so they offered it on the side and we painted it only very lightly on the bun. That worked fine. There's a thing called "sport peppers", small narrow whole peppers with a brief but quite-bright spicy "bite", so the jalapeños were good spice-wise, but not really the sport-pepper bite. Tomatoes and pickles should be wedges, which is part of the authentic dangerously sloppy eating experience. I'm not sure they used celery salt, which should add a slight touch of bitterness, but their light salt was in good proportion. The dog itself ought to have more "snap" to the casing. It ought to be seared for a tasty char, so next time i will ask if they can do that. And, for authentic "aesthetics", the relish should be neon (nuclear) green ;-). So i will call it a tasty "homage" to Chicago dogs :-) I like these correctly-named Chicago-"ish" dogs! $12 is not too out of line for a dog and chips. We added my favorite refreshing Ting soda, a Jamaican-style sparkling grapefruit soda, but i think that was an extra cost.

Are the hot dogs grilled or boiled?

We saw a Turbo Chef Sota oven, a sort of high-rate air-fryer with a fast microwave component. It's tuned to settings for specific foods. The dogs we had were better than boiled dogs, and not at all like microwaved dogs. They had good texture and… Read more

This bright and colorful food truck caught my view as I entered the Sunoco gas station in Hickory Ridge Village Center off Freetown Road in Columbia. I placed my order, then checked the air in my tires and got gas--two birds with one stone! By the time I returned, my lunch was ready. They serve freshly prepared Guatemalan-style food with very generous portions. I ordered the tacos choosing 2 flavors each of chicken and steak, burrito filled with tender steak pieces and then a Carne Asada burrito. The flavors were delicious, ingredients were fresh and nothing was overly spicy. Sliced cucumber and radish with sauces topped each dish and the service was friendly with no long wait. A convenient spot for a quick, tasty bite. I'll definitely be back to try more.

I heard that the lines can be long but when we went on Saturday around noon there was no line and the wait for our food was around 10 minutes. Just like everyone says the portions are huge! Each meal can easily be split with someone else or saved for a later meal. I really loved the torta, it came with refried beans, lettuce, a special sauce, steak (you can choose the meat), all on a super soft bread. The tacos come loaded up with meat, the steak wasn't the best I've had but the chorizo was phenomenal! The drink options are limited, but if you've never tried coconut water that would be my recommendation. There were some tables right next to the food truck available to use. It was the perfect day to sit outside and enjoy our fresh food. The person who took our food order was super friendly, patient, and happy to answer any questions. I'll definitely be back, and will probably order a torta again. I've also heard great things about their quesadillas!

At first I did f like the personal interfacing, but I quickly got used to liking it more! The pictures on the touch screen proved colorful, accurate, and helpful. At check out, the screen prompts you to add your name and to pick an order number from the available numbers stacked on the counter. It was not immediately there, but we put "67"! So we waited for our number to be called! It made us smile! We ordered the Shack Burger, Cheese Fries, and regular Vanilla Shake all of which cost a lot more than it should. All this to still say that the food was still very good. The burger patty on the Shack Burger is "smash" grilled with the perfect crunch and give and was oh so delicious. The crinkle cut fries had a cheese topping that is very creamy, not too runny, and is just perfect! The Vanilla shake was so good, we polished it off before we could take a photo! This place wasn't very busy for a late Tuesday afternoon, there was LOTS of available eat in seating to be had. The bathrooms here were clean too! Parking is always free because it's part of a mall/strip mall, hooray for FREE parking!

This was my first time visiting any Shake Shack location, here in Columbia, Maryland. I was…read moreactually surprised during my visit, because I was really thinking that this was going to be one of those awesome 5-star experiences, but it just wasn't. As I approached this business, I found the outside to be clean and the landscaping was pleasant. After entering, I was immediately faced with a bunch of kiosks for customers to place their orders. I just don't like kiosks. To me, this just shows me a business that is trying to reduce their customer service by not hiring cashiers and making the customer perform the cashier's job with no cost benefit to the customer. After placing my order, I was then questioned with how much I would like to tip. I found this to be even more annoying. What am I tipping for? The quality of the food?...I haven't eaten it yet. The quality of the service?...I haven't received any yet. Tipping BEFORE any experience is ridiculous and presumptuous. To me, tipping is a way for the customer to show that they are satisfied (or highly satisfied) with the experience they have had AFTER they have had it. I ended up ordering the double SmokeShack Burger, which comes with two beef patties, cheese, bacon, cherry peppers, and ShackSauce. The burger was really delicious, but I was surprised by how small it was for being a double. I also ordered the Bacon Cheese Fries, which are crinkle cut French fries topped with cheese sauce and bacon. This was pretty good too, but not as good as I thought it would be. For my drink I was going to get a soda-pop, but then I decided to try their Shack-Made Lemonade. It tasted weird, and I regretted getting it. I was served at my table by a server who delivered my food without saying a word. While eating my meal, I noticed that the inside of the restaurant looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. In fact, I did not see anyone cleaning anything inside during my entire visit. Even more disturbing was the lack of friendliness of the employees. I kid you not, there were about a dozen people working here during my visit and I did not see a single employee crack a smile...not for anyone. While leaving, I decided to order their Chocolate Blackout Pudding Shake. After getting back to my hotel with this for dessert, I only had a few spoonfuls. Again, this tasted weird. I ended up throwing out 90% of it because it just wasn't very tasty. In total, I spent over $33, which is a ridiculously high cost for one fast food meal. In comparison with my favorite fast food restaurant, In-N-Out (primarily in the western U.S.), I can get a similar meal at In-N-Out for about HALF the cost. I don't know about you, but if I pay substantially more I expect a substantially better experience. I hope that the other Shake Shack businesses don't operate like this one; This was NOT a worthwhile experience, especially considering the cost.
