I REALLY like this place! Enough to revisit two Saturdays in a row so far. It's hard to classify Whitechapel, but that's exactly part of what I love. It boarders on brewery and brewpub, with about 4 or 5 of their own beers on tap, available in three sizes for you tasting pleasure. Let me say the Baltic Porter is hands down the best I have ever had...anywhere! Occasionally, they do a "tap share" to bring in some brews from other Jersey breweries. Genius! Last night they had beer from Backward Flag and Brotherton. Craft cocktails and wine are also on the menu. The food menu isn't huge, but what we had was out of this world! Just like the Baltic Porter brought us back, so did the mussels...could possibly be the best I've ever had! Ask for extra bread to sop up the broth. The menu is a bit on the eclectic side, but everything is homemade and prices are reasonable. There are daily specials as well. We loved everything we tried in our two visits. Why 4 stars? This is super nit-picky, but here is my issue...don't assume everyone is cultured enough to understand your menu. I had to google more than my fair share of ingredients in the description. I'd rather not have to do that when having an otherwise amazing few hours away from reality. Keep the ethnic foodie titles, interpret the descriptions into English...Please! read more

Well before I start this review it should be noted that this place is under new ownership since January of 2020. With that said, we came here the summer of 2019 and had a great experience. Great food and great scene. Now summer of 2020 the experience is totally different. Terrible service and terrible food. Long story short. Had to send back my burger 2x and other food items lacked flavor and basic seasoning. The services was uncaring and each time i was left calling for the server to come to our table. I personally had to ask for the manager, but was left with a feeling that our issues fell on deaf ears after talking to him. Even after sending back our over cooked burger for the 2nd time, management never even bother to check how things turned out the second time around. He was to busy on his phone (we saw him on his phone on our way out). Our server too didnt even bother neither to see if our food came out to our liking. Anyhow, I've been to this place a handful of times with the old ownership with great things to say, but as of today, I cant say the same. read more

Loved dining at the white chapel projects. They have very reasonably priced apps and entrees. A beer hall type style restaurant with their own ipa beer . Everything was scrumptious and they also have a room for private parties. The art work on the outside of the building is amazing , beautiful brick building redone , some picnic table style seating with , and 4 top tables. Fun , cozy atmosphere , when I went here on a Friday it was packed and noisey . Would love to hear some music in here . Large Bar area also . I can't wait to go again . This place has so much potential. We stumbled across WCP by accident. My boyfriend had been working nearby during the week and decided we should check it out for lunch. WCP has such a cool vibe: beautiful building with exposed brick, nice biergarten, great music. Let's start with the positives. Our waitress was great, super friendly and accommodating. She greeted us immediately, brought us water to the table without asking which is so nice because next to nowhere does that these days and came back quickly to take our drink menu. If you love beer, this is your spot. There is a ton of local beer on tap, and WCP brews their own, which is stellar. Sadly, that was the highlight of our dining experience. For lunch, we both ordered the fried chicken sandwich with french fries. In the pictures on Instagram and their website it looked killer but it really wasn't good at all. I don't complain...it wasn't inedible but then again, we were super hungry so I think that's the only reason we ate it. We didn't want to complain because our waitress was so sweet but both of our sandwiches were iced cold. Maybe the sandwich was supposed to be cold? I don't know but we both were grossed out. It was a floured piece of chicken that almost resembled a tender...no spices or anything, just flour, and the fact that it was cold just really did not settle well. It was also very dry, like the kind when you bite into it, it actually sticks to the roof of your mouth. It came with some kind of cheese aioli on the bun but again, since it was cold, the aioli texture was very off, like a thick paste. Fries were good and happily piping hot. Super similar to boardwalk fries. We'll give this place another whirl...the dinner menu looks good and the outdoor biergarten has our attention for the summer but if any managers are reading this, work on the food quality. It's a neat little spot...we are hoping our experience was just a fluke. read more

My wife and I came here for dinner on the other night. We live in the area and saw WCP slowly progressing each time we drove by. We parked in the dirt lot out front on Second Ave and went into the courtyard where you can either walk straight into the Chapel (their music venue) or to the right through the wooden door with the light-up arrow into the restaurant / bar. We sat at a table near the window overlooking the Yard and Ocean Ave. The space was warm and very interesting. While it wasn't very crowded when we were there, I couldn't help but think about how crowded it would be on the weekends (especially in the summertime). Our waiter told us it was his first day there and was learning as he went because, as he said, things there were a bit different than the places he has waited before. One thing we noticed that he could have been referencing was that he asked for a credit card after we ordered our food. This was strange at first but later on he brought out a tablet with a digital check. We didn't sample any of the beers they had on tap but may be back to try them. My wife was a little disappointed they didn't have any name brand soda but did try their own soda (she wasn't a huge fan). I ordered the Langos-Wrapped Burger for 15$ and my wife had the Vegan Banh Mi for 12$. The burger is deep fried and encased in potato bread which I was skeptical about at first but had heard good things about. While I did enjoy the burger, the french fries, and the Mississippi comeback sauce (I liked the sauce the most), I don't feel like what I had was a 15$ burger. It felt more like a large patty-melt than a burger. My wife liked the Bahn Mi but said her only complaint was that it was too dry. I respect the level of creativity WCP is going for but I hope it's not too ambitious. Our meal was good but we both felt in its current state that WCP can improve on a few things during this "soft" opening phase. The warmer weather and the tourists that make their way to the beach in the summer should make or break WCP. read more

This place is next to the parking lot across from the beach. Large space with heavy wood decor. Pretty rustic and it seemed geared to a younger crowd as the little band was playing new wave type music. Drinks were well poured by a friendly bartender. Wifey and I shared rigatoni bolognese which was OK. The bar although wiped down was a little sticky. Although I didn't try them there was approx 20 beers on tap. read more

I went here over the summer and it was a great experience. Apparently things have changed. I went tonight with a party of 6. We went to find seating and asked if we could push two tables together and the one waiter just shrugged his shoulders. So we moved the tables together and then a bigger table opened up. We ended up moving. The the waiter we originally asked, made a show of pushing the chairs and tables back. I'll say that we could have moved them back but to make us feel uncomfortable when it wasn't done out of malice. Then we ordered food and drinks and Tatiana our waitress was fantastic. Turns out it was her first day but props to her for having no assistance and doing great. One of our party members ordered the sliders and they were severely over cooked. The waitress apologized and said she would speak to the manager. Tom was the manager and he didn't even acknowledge us or help his waitress out. He completely hung her out to dry and made her come over and apologize and said they comped it. They didn't even offer a replacement so that person didn't eat. It wasn't the waitresses fault she couldn't really do much which we understood. We went to pay and our waitress was busy. All of the other waiters completely ignored us even though we were standing looking to pay. As someone who lives on the jersey shore, there are a bunch of incredible restaurants and better service anywhere else. Avoid for sure. read more

Awful ambiance. You're basically sitting outside in an empty lot in a not- great area of Long Branch. Food nothing special. And if you're unlucky enough to be there when there's a private event going on in their makeshift tent, it will be loud and obnoxious. Nothing to recommend here. read more

I have been coming here for years and always used to love it. I keep trying again, but it's just gone down hill so bad. The service is absolutely terrible and it keeps getting more expensive. Today, we sat down and ordered water and beers and then later ordered some food. Maybe about an hour later, the food came, and we still hadn't even gotten our water (or beers). The bartender is a smug jerk. The waiter has a fake Australian accent. It seems like they have put all their energy into making it an event space/ wedding venue and the restaurant is an afterthought. Can never tell when they're open, can't get anyone on the phone. It's so horribly managed. I really miss what it used to be. I used to love it. read more

Positives: Cool space with various different areas, including outdoor seating with picnic tables. The poutine was pretty good. Negatives: Service... It just seems like this place doesn't have enough people working. When you walk in, it's not clear whether you seat yourself or you should find a waiter. We wandered around the whole place for a few minutes with no one ever greeting us or explaining how things work. It seems like there's three different areas: courtyard, main bar, and outside. You can only get certain beers and food in specific areas. Yet there's one menu which makes it all very confusing. Once again, a greeter and more bartenders and waiters would address this (and maybe better signs/menus for first timers?)... Overall, I would return (mainly because of the location) but I hope they can sort out some of the clear issues sooner than later. read more

Go for the food. Everything is house made, flavored well (not overly salty or seasoned). It's clear from the taste quality ingredients and methods are used. Also good beer, I tried their porter, French saison and a guest raspberry sour ipa. Their two house brews were easy drinking with good flavor. My favorite was the sour (guest brewery). With lit candles burning throughout all rooms and multiple seating options (picnic tables, two tops, four tops, and bar) a warm atmosphere is felt in every room. 4 stars only because it was loud. Hard to hear the group I was with. I went on a Saturday night, I'd imagine weeknights aren't as loud. But hey, a lot of people like that I'm just not into it. I wish I took pictures of the food. Yelp has many interior/decor photos which is a major pro of the establishment but really the food, go for the food!! I have the Hungarian bread (2 versions: one regular one with creme fraise), poutine, and the goddess salad. These were shared among 6 adults. I'd order it all again! WHAT an incredibly nice space. The entrance brings you thru a large, inviting open air courtyard with "beer hall" tables before you enter the nicely appointed main bar & dining area. There is yet another huge outdoor courtyard just off this space. There are drink menus on spay cans, a nifty unique touch ...the attention to detail is evident throughout this club. I sampled 2 different tasty drinks: a Blueberry Vodka number, and a classic "Long Island" and also tried one of their in-haus brewed Porters, that was quite tasty with perfect dark nutty notes. Sadly, I wasn't able to try any of the food, but so many items looked enticing, especially the Poutine (which you can get w/Vegan mushroom gravy! YAS!) and i soooo wanted to try the Setian skewers or fish tacos, but was too busy DJ'ing an event in their AMAZING 2nd bar/party/event/live band space. The huge square room is painted all matte white (ie: WhiteChappel!,) partial exposed brick accents and super high ceiling with exposed beams also painted white. Easily accessible gender non-specific 'single' bathrooms off the space and beautiful minimal mood lighting that bounces off the white walls/ceiling beams. Super friendly bartenders, servers kitchen staff and management is the icing on the cake. Can't wait to revisit this eclectic, hip hot spot again (which is easily accessible just outside downtown LongBranch and blocks from Pier Village at Broadway and parallel to Ocean Ave - on Second,) w/plenty of (free!) parking as well! Fresh catch of the day (a very generous portion of Mahi-Mahi) blackened and pan-seared. A fresh cucumber salad and a spicy aioli on top...all served on a French baguette. Highly recommend! read more

Exceptionally good, fresh, creative, with homemade bread. The care they're putting into the details is not going unnoticed. This is more than just a new spot relying on the bar and decor to carry them; the food is just as prominent in their acclaim. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is fun and open. My wife and I came here on a Saturday (5:00) and immediately was impressed with the ambiance...very cool. Unfortunately, that was one of the only things we liked. The service was super slow! They ran out of many items on the menu and beers (very disappointing considering it's a brewery). I had the burger...it was ok. My wife had the steak (medium) it came out rare. By the time we could flag down a server, we had finished eating my burger. Our favorite part was a beer from a different, local brewery. It's sad when several other people are having the same experience. WCP should re-evaluate things before more and more negative reviews happen. read more

The aesthetic of this place drew us in, naturally looking for a meal was also a bug factor. We ordered our food unknowing of the subpar, and overpriced items coming our way. We were seated quickly at around 8pm. Our orders were put in by 8:10. Simple. I ordered the Vegan option, My husband ordered the fish sandwich, and my friend went for the Turkey Burger. My husband said his fish sandwich is soupy.Two words I would never think belong together. We talked. We noticed the time and were told the food was coming by our server (who was kind and delightful). This place might be nice to catch up with friends and definitely a well made interior that draws you in. Unfortunately, our food came at 9pm. The turkey burger was dry. My friend felt sick afterwards. My vegan sandwich was shameful. We left spending 90$ and tipping our kind server. Laughing at our confused stomachs. We came in hungry and left displeased and tired from waiting. We came, saw, and will not return. Please consider the quality of the food you overprice. read more

Popped in on a Sunday morning after running a 5K at the Pier. The vibe and atmosphere was great. The decor was chic and beach-y at the same time. There is seating inside and outside. However, seating outside does not offer any shade, no umbrella or tents were available. They offered a wide variety of brews and our waitress was super awesome and gave us her top choices. The brews were super inexpensive and delicious. My fave was the Southern IPA. Only complaint though was that they were out of many brews. I'll definitely be back for more brews and maybe brunch next time. read more

My husband and I stopped here on a whim before a concert to grab food and drinks. I'm a beer drinker, my husband isn't. I can't remember which beer I had but it was dark and absolutely delicious. We ordered the Mississippi roast, Mac and cheese, and warm crab dip. The food was also amazing! The waitress was kind, helpful and attentive. Great atmosphere! The amount of unprofessionalism from the management and owner that was apparent as a customer made me feel so bad for the workers. No wonder why service is so poor. Hope this cycle of ownership is short lived. For a place boasting as a micro brewery the beer seems like a complete after thought. The servers seem to know absolute nothing about beer, they do NOT sell cans to go, OR growlers. Im fine i do not need any more mushrooms on every damn dish. I saw some guys getting growler fills, which is cool. It also had some great outdoor space. The aesthetic of the tasting room is epic. Parking is a little limited so you may wanna Uber.
