A hidden gem that I'm so happy to have tried! From the beautiful old building, cute courtyard and bar, this place is so inviting. The food is amazing - we shared the giant pretzel served with meats, cheeses, fruits, pub cheese, and the most delicious honey mustard I've had in a while charcuterie style. We shared the shoemakers pasta and the white pepperoni pizza - absolutely delicious. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive and we really enjoyed hanging outside listening to great music and enjoying our meal.

We've been to Whitechapel a handful of times now. They have a menu with something for everyone, a fully stocked bar, and a good amount of space. The bar and table service has been good and the food has been top notch. My nitpick comes from their beer selection. They have a modest selection of brews but very few, if any of their own. On my last visit, I didn't see any of their own beer on the list which was disappointing to me because I always want to try beer from the brewery that I'm visiting. Hopefully they can get more of their brews on tap soon and live up to the brewery name!

LONG BRANCH: if you were to take a cool and quirky place from Asbury Park and drop it in Long Branch you get THE WHITECHAPEL PROJECTS. Seriously, it is a super cool, artistic, fun, unique, and interesting space! Leashed dogs are allowed in "The Yard," a large outdoor area with umbrelled picnics tables and table service. You can order craft beer that is made on-site in the brewery and also enjoy some locally brewed beers, sip on creative cocktails, eat delicious and distinctive food (Marilyn Schlossbach is the executive chef!), while enjoying the art dotted along the space and live music and markets! The building is very old and through adaptive reuse has transformed into an awesome space that you and your dog will fully enjoy! Located just a block from the beach too!

Employees were friendly and accomodating as we figured out where to sit in the empty restaurant. We put in an order for appetizers while we asked for a few minutes on what to drink. The food was great and came out quickly. But our waitress disappeared completely and we finished our food, and had been finished for awhile before she came back. We had asked someone if we could order drinks, but they said they had to look for our waitress. It left a bit of a bad taste in our mouth as neither her nor any one of the other employees that were standing around came to check on us. So we ended our visit early.

Aerosol can repurposed as adverts for local bands. Nice touch.

Awesome place to hang as the beach gets crammed jammed with people. The setting includes various forms of seating here from bar, to courtyard, to communal benches (perfect for your party of 4+) and then patio with more communal benches and view of the live music if any is performing. Difference between the courtyard area and the patio area is the courtyard is a bit more low key and no live music, but both you're sitting outside. I think this is one of the best parts about being here, that is whatever vibe you and your friends are feeling, you can go there (provided it isn't too crowded) I had the burger and fries which was alright and hit the spot but nothing that sets it a part from the run of the mill bar burgers I've had at many other places. There are however many other options in the way of grilled food I did not get to try. The drink options are plentiful with the bartenders eager to make recommendations, complete with an indoor and outdoor counter to get drinks at. Overall, I found this to be a great place to hang out and have drinks whether the beach is crowded or otherwise. Come by to hang out for some drinks. Beware the parking can be a bit messy due to it being adjacent to the beach.

Not worth writing about. All food precooked somewhere else. Didn't really care for the craft beers they offered. That's it.

Fun and eclectic! Menu is very extensive: was expecting burgers and sandwiches and we had snapper as our entree, so good!

I never leave reviews but my meal was completely lacking flavor. What a disappointment. Miss the old management/chef.

A cool new place to get a drinks and some snacks. I wish there was more sharing options on the menu but it's such a cool atmosphere.

We really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it was a complete letdown…read more The space itself is beautiful, and the service was good. Drinks were presented nicely, but flavor-wise they were just... fine. We started with the short rib flatbread, which was extremely dry. There were five of us and we left nearly half of it. The charred octopus was also disappointing--lacking flavor and a bit chewy. Mains were where things really fell apart. I ordered the spicy rigatoni, and it honestly tasted like jarred sauce--multiple people at the table tried it and agreed. It reminded me of the sauce inside a pizza roll: cheap and overly processed. I ate only a few bites before giving up. I woke up in the middle of the night with severe heartburn, nausea and stomach pains. Two friends shared a steak ordered medium; it came out well done. Sides were risotto and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels were good, but the risotto was very thick and gluey rather than creamy. The remaining two entrees were gnocchi and chicken Milanese. The gnocchi was bland and barely touched. One friend did say she enjoyed the chicken Milanese, which was the lone bright spot of the night. We don't mind spending money on food--but it needs to be good food. Unfortunately, nothing justified the price point. I wouldn't go back. It's a shame, because the restaurant has a lot of visual appeal and real potential, but the execution just isn't there.

If you're a seafood lover, I recommend starting off with the charred octopus or the shrimp fritters. The octopus was tender, smoky and perfectly charred. The shrimp fritters were golden and crispy filled with delicious, juicy shrimp. You also have to try the spicy tuna hand roll. Fresh, silky tuna with a kick of spice, perfectly wrapped in crisp seaweed--this hand roll is a must for sushi lovers. The dry aged cowboy ribeye steak was unbelievable. With every mouthwatering bite I found myself just wanting more. It was honestly one of the best steaks I've ever had. The golden, buttery scallops melted in my mouth with every bite, paired with ultra-creamy goat cheese polenta for the ultimate indulgence. An irresistible dance of flavors made for sharing. We topped off the night with this decadent, warm brownie crowned with silky ice cream--an intimate finish that's both rich and irresistibly smooth. I cannot confirm nor deny that we finished the whole skillet. Service was very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is upscale and sleek. This is a great place for an intimate date night, classy girls night out, or sophisticated celebration.

(The honeymoon is over, I fear.) The menu is eclectic - pizza to sandwiches to seafood to an impressive list of beers, cocktails and mocktails. The pricing is a bit too high but what else would you expect in the heart of the boardwalk, right at the main 'corner' where countless people are constantly walking past? The servers on both visits were superb. The restaurant definitely has a cool look all around... outdoor seating, a large bar inside, plenty of tables and a cool 'snug corner' that has a lounge/library vibe to it. (Weirdly enough on both visits they gave us the exact same high-top even though there was plenty of seating in all the other corners of the joint.) For every hit (the BLT sandwich) there was a "it was okay, I don't think I'd get that again" (fish tacos) and for almost $20 to hear, "the crust reminded me of Ellio's frozen pizza" was deflating. (Next summer? We might see what else Long Branch has to offer...)
