If you're looking strictly for pretty views and decent service then this is the place for you. However, if you're looking for a good food, I don't recommend it. At lunch we ordered the crab Louie appetizer which was a major disappointment at $30. It supposed to be lump crab and avocado. I thought it would be like a tower that I've had in other restaurants. This was just chopped up crab meat with lots of mayonnaise and a little bit of avocado on three slices of tomato I thought the flavor was awful. Came here on Saturday and we sat in the bar area. They had four different menus that you could order from. We chose to do the happy hour they had a variety of cocktails beer and food for different price ranges. We also ordered off the weekly lunch menu and regular menu. I had the shark attack and it was delicious very limey if you are into that thing. Our bartender was also our server so it was a little slower service but he was attentive and friendly he also made a great drink. I ordered the clam chowder its $16 but well worth the price at least 3 people could have eaten it. The mussels were a good size for a happy hour and im Assuming for the regular menu it would be bigger. My husband loved the steak sandwich and for $24 thats a good deal. We will come back for the lunch again and would like to try it for dinner! read more

We had a family celebration at the Beach Tavern in Monmouth Beach and were completely satisfied with the way it was handled from the planning to the menu selection. Had lunch with 5 guests. So much wrong from the lobster roll filled with tiny chopped up pieces, another friend clams linguine, old clams chewy had to spit them out. We could of sent all the dishes back , most low quality of food of everything. The worst thing was that night myself and a friend both got food poisoning from sushi tacos. I'm writing this to be aware of the quality of the food here.. I will never go back. The cocktails were good , actually the only thing that was sorry to say. Plus our server once he put the food down we never saw him again .... Until the Bill came . Our waiter, German, was hilarious, nice, and attentive. He had us laughing from the moment we sat down. The food was delicious and the view was beautiful. You have to place your entire order at once because they clear the table and refresh your silverware in between courses. I loved the truffle whipped ricotta dip, it was unique & creamy. The decor is beach chic, with a modern organic feel. It was my first time here and overall had a great experience. There are menu specials every night besides Friday and Saturday. I will be back for $30 Monday prime rib night. All sushi rolls are over $22, which is a little expensive in my opinion. read more

We have been here a few times before. Great atmosphere. Food is always good though pricey for what's offered. For the price, we thought that the Ocean Roll ($24) sushi would be bigger but it wasn't. It would usually be a $12-$13 roll at a sushi restaurant. We would have ordered 2 if we had known it's size. Tonight, we figured we would celebrate our anniversary with one of our kids. Service was not as good as before as we received the sushi without soy sauce or chopsticks, had to wait a long time for a drink refills, and didn't get some of the things that we had asked for. It's still a great place for a drink or for a date, but it seems to have changed slightly with its service. read more

We ate here two weeks ago. We were a party of six. Had a wonderful hostess who sat us indoors without a reservation. Ordered apps and drinks which were fine. Then only five of six entrees were delivered to the table. One person found the waitress after 10 minutes. Another ten minutes came and went and we told the manager. Meal was finally delivered after other five people were completely finished eating. Asked for compensation and was offered a glass of wine and not the free entree!! Wrote two emails to the manager about this and never heard anything back!! This was HORRIBLE customer service and we were embarrassed in front of out of town guests! We should have been offered immediate compensation without having to ask for it and it should have been more than a glass of wine! read more

Calamari, yum but i would request the sauce on the side; great selection of easy and west coast oysters; enjoyed the grilled pulpo; and my cheddar burger with just the right kind of crispy fries. And it was a beautiful Saturday so there was live music. Nice touch! read more

THEY DONT HAVE BACK UP GENERATORS!!! They lost power so couldn't pay our bill at the end of the night because of this and wanted us to go out of our way to drive to an ATM. Manager, she is rude and is horrible under pressure and was yelling at customers!! Hostess are miserable and rude! Our waitress was really nice. Their cocktails are premade so they weren't all that. Food wasn't all that. Seems like that's also premade and put in a hot box. Oysters were fishy! Their lump crab meat Louie is basically tuna fish. I was NOT impressed!!! read more

First I like to say remember where you are Monmouth county on the water. The location has great views of the river and marina. The outdoor dining has a great setting but if you go during the day it's hot with very little shade I recommend early evening. The drink menus are awesome with a great varieties of cocktails but again remember where you are when you order your meal two of us had lunch and the bill was 277 and we did not order a lot stay away from the seafood platter. But all in all is a very beautiful outdoor dining experience. read more

The setting is beautiful overlooking a marina on the SHREWSBURY River. Outdoor dining with palm trees, either on a deck or on a "football field" , string lighting and solid live music, make this place relaxing and fun. Though there have been some negative reviews, It did not deter us. We didn't see anything noteworthy, save a few service glitches. If you enjoy seafood, try it. Landlubbers welcome. Outside area is beautiful but no reservations are taken. Inside is way too loud. The inside back room which has windows on the water could be great, but because the windows don't open, feels loud and contained. The menu offers something for everyone. For appetizers - the mussels are delicious, the broth was a ten. Nice selection of fresh oysters! We loved the pork chop with hot peppers and the Bronzino was fabulous. read more

Went for my sisters birthday. Our server, Rose, was incredibly sweet and attentive. She made the experience so much better. The reason for my 1 star review is the management and hostess. I called a month prior to reserve a table for my sisters birthday. When making the reservation, I expressed to the hostess how we wanted to be seated outside. The hostess, with confirmation from management, guaranteed that our party would be seated outside. Her words were "I have confirmed with management, we can make that happen for you!" Upon arrival, that was not the case. We were met with an incredibly rude hostess who no longer had our outdoor table. She gave no outdoor options (we would have waited) and stated our table was set for indoors. When I asked to speak with a manager, she responded "My manager is just going to tell you the same thing". Truthfully I would not have made the reservation if we were told that we would not be seated outdoors. We sat at our table and waited 45 minutes for a manager to finally come over. The manger very combative and was arguing with me. Then she abruptly left and said she would "be right back" and never returned the entire dinner. Her only form of rectification was "well if you want to sit outside you'll have to wait an hour and a half." This was said as we were already seated indoors and she clearly had no intention of making the situation right. I am logical and understood we could not be seated outside, though it was promised with the reservation. I simply wanted the situation rectified, which it was not. I've been to this restaurant countless times and recommend it to many. As a patron & restaurant owner, I'm very disappointed in the way this situation was handled. No hospitality at all read more

Beautiful location! Dining room was tastefully decorated, vacay feel and the view of the marina/Shrewsbury River was gorgeous. For our eats we ordered 2 California rolls and burrata to start. Both very good. For entrees we had the lobster roll, bacon wrapped scallops on risotto and tuna steak. Everyone enjoyed their meals, only complaint is the fries served with the lobster roll weren't good. Service was attentive and quick, definitely looking forward to returning. read more

Love everything about Beach Tavern!! They were so accommodating! I went for happy hour with my daughters and parents. Usually you have to sit at one of the high top tables but I was with my parents who are older and could not get up on the high top chairs. The manager said no problem and sat us at a regular table and let us order off the happy hour menu! Such a small gesture but meant a lot!! read more

Who knew the long standing Sally Tees now Beach Tavern could become Cuzins in Marlboro? Had no clue about new ownership until it came to the overblown smell of cologne everywhere (0 stars) food ( 1 star) the service ( 0 stars) the vibe ( 0 stars) although seeing a DJ dressed as if he was playing at a wedding spinning 80's disco should have clued me in. We waited for our table outside inside at the bar. The bartender was sweet, the martini was on point and the crowd was way less " bridge and tunnel". If you enjoy being on the set of Goodfellas, you'll have a great time. If you're looking for your old Beach Tavern that was family friendly and had decent food and amazing service and a great spot after beaching or boating all day, run. read more
