This is an average of ambience (5) and food (2 at best). Great time come for drinks. Music. Views and staff. Outside of that just skip the food. Yesterday had fish and chips for $22. 3 small slivers of fries cod which for the most part was decent and then what seemed like let's throw a lot of overcooked fries and make it seem kike they're getting a large plate. Pizza was mediocre. This is 3rd or 4th time trying food here. Guess it always seems convenient but man the food is so sub par. read more

EvenTide had a great view and good food! We stopped in quick for a brief lunch on our way to the beach. We had the spicy margarita and skinny greyhound (a grapefruit and vodka cocktail). The spicy margarita was decent used tanteo jalapeño tequila which isn't my personal favorite. I usually prefer either muddled jalapeños or infused tequilas only picking on this drink because they advertise spicy margaritas if you just ask for it and it's not on the menu I understand it not being legit. I was also semi hoping for a tajin rim! The grapefruit cocktail was good and I'd try that again. The burgers we all cooked to the correct temp. I wish the burgers we a little bigger but they were good. Both types of fries were great. The service was good and we'll definitely be back again to try some more! read more

I like EvenTide especially given with what has been going on with COVID19. Reservations are a must with a 90 minute maximum time limit for dining. I am new to Sea Bright and from what I understand pre COVID19 the place was hopping with live music and the alcohol flowing. I really feel for them given what must be a revenue crunch. The location is situated on a dock in a marina, beautiful sunset location on the Shrewsbury River. All weather picnic tables with large patio umbrellas adorn their patio. The menu is solid and has something for everyone. I have enjoyed their Wings, nachos,and their Grilled Cajun chicken sandwich. I have yet to try their Pizza, maybe next time. read more

Beautiful outdoor dining. We went at around 7 so it was perfect timing and weather for sunset during dinner. For drinks I got an espresso martini with baileys and it was great! Missing my 3 espresso beans for good luck but it's okay! lol. Appetizers I think we got boom boom shrimp it was good but it had like a plantain/banana taste to it. For entrees I split with my friend and we did the Lobster Fra Diavolo which was a special and a bee sting pie. Holy moly both were so good!!! Our server was so nice I wish I remembered his name. While the waterfront location is pretty, the outdoor bar is fun and the music was great, dinner was terrible. We were quickly seated but left to wait for service for 15-20 minutes. We placed our orders (nothing crazy at all) and waited ...and waited...45 minutes in I headed in to check on what the holdup was and our apps came out. My son's quesadilla had almost no chicken in it. Then we waited some more. Another 20 minutes and we flagged down our waitress (who didn't check in at all) and was told our mains should be out soon. I asked what was taking so long and she said they don't give the kitchen the main orders until after apps come out? Then she just walked off. Finally food comes out and it's fine, nothing great at all. Service was so poor we won't return unless it's just for drinks and music. read more

Really great hangs on the deck with views of the boats on the water while dining. Always live acoustic music going, though I wish it went a little later. Ample menu selection, but overpriced (it's the shore, no surprise). Quality of everything is decent and service is typically quick. It gets very crowded in the summer, so get there early! read more

Rachel was our server, she filled our water and was five star waitress & Devan was super helpful and Aiden was right there the entire time. Do not let their age for you, they have great service. Their chicken sandwich is delicious, cold seafood is high end , pricing is really acceptable especially with price gouging at the moment. This is a restaurant that you can get great food, before, have someone wait on you hand and foot without being too pushy and not get a bill for $100. Came back yesterday. The burger was a pre frozen hockey puck done well no matter what was requested. The BBQ sauce was almost MIA. The chips were stale. What gives? The food here is great! A wide selection of dishes for everyone. We started with the bisque and the clam appetizers that were both very tasty. We all happened to have burgers for entrees. The teriyaki turkey was cooked well and not dry. The teriyaki, sautéed onions and pineapple makes it all come together. I highly recommend. The beef burgers were good too and pretty well cooked. Why they didn't get 5-stars: They didn't have a ton of seafood options for the location but the options are decent. The waiter was the biggest problem with this place and is temping me to go down to a 3-star review. I asked him about the tuna crudo which he didn't have info but he suggested the seafood platter for sharing. It was an all-raw plate that we weren't interested in. When he came back and we didn't order that he said "oh you didn't take my suggestion". He expected his endorsement would sell that app that we didn't want. We asked for extra bread after that that he forgot and the staff was so concerned about clearing every plate that no one filled our water. Talk about views! This newish restaurant has an amazing back patio area with a view of the Shrewsbury River. Dinner and music on a spring Saturday night- band started in the bar area at 6pm. No room for dancing but exceptional sound. No reservations allowed and the host was super efficient in taking names and getting tables ready. Good drinks- mojito and rum punch were delicious but server over poured water and spilled drinks onto the table and never brought napkins to soak up. Passable chicken with pasta and shrimp tacos - when ordered coffee with cream was not brought sugar or a spoon. Staff is busy but common sense.... Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. All the food was really delicious, I had the drunken clams app & surf and turf burger. The clams were delicious in a velvety red sauce that needed a bit more bread to sop up the broth, the burger was cooked to perfection and the fries were awesome. So you ask yourself, why 3 stars. The waiter was an up-seller, was unfamiliar with the menu and, aloof to us when when we ordered burgers. My husband asked about the tuna crudo appetizer which was a special of the day. The waiter responded to the question, with suggesting we order the seafood tower and never answered the question about the tuna appetizer . When we placed our appetizer order he responded with "oh so you're not going to take my suggestion." Ummm no, but we also NEVER asked for your suggestion, we asked how the tuna crudo was served. He was not knowledgeable of the menu, never came to do a mid meal check in, and had no use for us. If the service was better this review would be higher, I will not apologize or feel bad for having 3 adults order burgers and alcoholic beverages and be give a 'tude, behaving like we didn't order full meals. read more

Reviews seem to run the gamut from love to hate but skew more towards love. Now I remember when places like this catered to a barefoot after boating crowd and not the hoi polloi. So we went in with no preconceptions. Evidently the menu has changed but I liked what I saw. It may be more pub ish but I thought it was great. We were seated in about 1/2 a martini on a hot August Saturday with no reservations! Miss Al H' s 20 the birthday had now stretched out to 4 days covering 3 states. And she wanted to go out! The food from grilled chicken (mine, awesome), pizza that is Pete and Elsa's esque was fantastic. Grandma Al H. had fish tacos to rave reviews and Birthday Miss Al H. had grilled salmon that was fresh and crispy but the quinoa (which I don't like no matter how it's done) was mushy and the asparagus was steamed, not to her taste. App of calamari with marinara sauce was very good and included the legs which I love. Grey Goose martini was fantastic despite no blue cheese olives. And the house Pinot grigio was excellent and nicely chilled. Outside had a band and a less formal crowd and the inside is a great place to dine at sundown. Great views but crab cake was disappointing. Shore grills should gave fresh crab cakes not frozen ones. Shrimp tacos were good though.

The best part of the restaurant is the View and Ambiance. The service was lacking. Plates not cleared, never came back to check how food was. The Halibut special was over cooked for me and guest who had same dish. Overall it was a disspointment. The back patio area and bar are nice to sit listen to music and view of Marina. read more

I used to absolutely love EvenTide, but it has definitely changed over the past year or so. They used to have one of if not the BEST football happy hours with a free taco bar at halftime but this season they are no longer offering it. They also changed from 1/2 price pizza, burgers and apps to just a small menu of about 8 items. $2 off all drinks makes beers the same price but mixed drinks are much more expensive now. I honestly heard about 10 different people ask about the taco bar and all were disappointed it was no more. The manager/owner walked around and asked how our food was and I told her everyone really wants it. They really need to find a way to bring it back. In regards to food, we got the mac and cheese (average), Mahi sliders (good, french fries are pathetic and look like they come frozen from a grocery store), pretzel w/beer cheese (very good), and buffalo/spicy garlic wings which were decent. Overall the food is just not as good and they did mention there is a new chef and it shows. I honestly am in no rush to return for Sunday Football and it's kinda sad because this used to be my favorite place for it. read more

I loved the outdoor vibe. The band was not very good " Kids at Play" they placed a few songs well but if you like music they were bad. My family said they played U2 and I could not tell which song that's how bad they were. Beautiful sunsets out the back, roomy indoor bar area, tasty food and friendly servers. Outdoor bar area draws a younger crowd and has music and a cool vibe. Came for dinner with family & friends (7 people) and arrived before sunset. We were told a 1 hour wait for outside or 20 minutes for an inside table. We asked for 1st available and then ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes for 2 tables next to each other. They mentioned our kids couldn't sit alone at a table and that they couldn't put the tables together (???) ... Two minutes later they apologized and put the tables together (there were other tables together when we arrived). Strange... We ordered fried calamari and a few pizza as appetizers. All were very good. Drinks tasted especially good while watching the evening colors. Main courses were equally good and well prepared. Servers were friendly and efficient. Shrimp with garlic sauce and linguini was really good, excellent lobster roll. Good place, great view, great sunset ... Only suggestion is I think the Maitre D staff needs to get their act together and be more realistic with wait times, especially when it's near sunset and no one wants to vacate a table. read more

I really wanted to love this restaurant. It's got a beautiful location right on the water. The outdoor patio is really nicely set up. However, they are lacking the menu and quality to match their gorgeous location. The menu currently consists of just appetizers, salads, pizza, sandwiches and a small raw bar. We went to an early dinner on Sunday night and they were already out of a good portion of the menu. As an explanation, the server noted that the kitchen staff has recently turned over and that the new chef is re-working the menu. Their website still shows the old menu including actual entrees. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and fried calamari appetizers. The marinaras included with the dishes were bland - I could find better in jar from the grocery. The mozzarella didn't stretch when you bit into it and the breading lacked seasoning. The calamari was truly awful. Burnt and extremely oily. No flavor as well in the breading. I ordered the cod sandwich and thankfully the cod was good. I subbed sweet potato fries but they were extremely oily. :( One thing that seems to have its act together is the bar staff. Drinks were tasty and strong. I especially liked the rum bucket. I'll give them a second chance once the menu is revised but super disappointed today. read more

I've been here twice now and I'll most likely come back again. My first experience was a couple months ago and that visit was closer to 5 stars. But the food experience tonight was probably only a 3. Two months ago in my first visit they had a diverse and good size menu. I remember being offered specials and a boat load of entrees - pun intended. I was eager to come back and try more. Last time, I had the halibut which was insanely good and served over broccoli rabe. Insane flavor. Tonight their menu was limited to more of a snack/lunch feel. From reading other reviews I can see that the chef must have left and now they are reworking their menu. Would have been nice for them to notify their guests upon arrival or over the phone when we called. Regardless, my family and I were willing to give it a go. I took the opportunity to satisfy my pizza craving. I remember seeing people order specialty pizzas last time so I decided there was a reason. And it was a safe pick. Hard to mess up shrimp on a pizza. But what they did seem to get wrong was my mother's cod. It was well undercooked but when we showed the server, they took it off the check after offering to replace it (my mother is picky and didn't want to replace it). You'll see some other dishes represented in the pictures I've attached. But what always makes this place a good time to come back to is their atmosphere and location on the Shrewsbury River. The restaurant is next to a marina where boats are kept on land and in water. Really makes you feel like you're somewhere other than NJ for a little. I'm going to come back again because I want to give them a second chance at redoing their menu. I understand things happen that are uncontrollable and one visit is not enough.
