Lincoln Avenue, Suite 2 Chicago, IL 60659 Telephone: 312-210-2428 Hours: Tues. - Sat. 10AM-7PM; Sun. 10AM - 6PM. Closed Monday I dropped off five winter coats, including a knee-length goose down filled one, two men's winter jackets, one women's hooded jacket, and a zip-out liner for one of the men's jackets. They were ready a week later. Total bill was $90.00. Compared to my local neighborhood, this was about half price. All garments were beautifully clean, no issues at all. Their tailoring services include wedding and prom dresses, women's, men's and children's suits and other clothes. A customer I met was having alterations to an old dress to bring it up to date, and said she has had Nura do her work for years. Two Asian women run the business. They are English-speaking, both very friendly and careful to get all the details down. It's a small shop, with obvious work in progress everywhere you look. Payment is by cash or credit card (I used Visa) on pickup. There is street parking along Lincoln Ave. A side street joins Lincoln just south of the address, which may have parking. Good connections to both the northern leg of the California Ave. CTA bus line, which connects to the Davis St. terminal in Evanston and Logan Square in Chicago, and the Lincoln Ave. CTA bus line, which goes from McCormick and Howard St. on the north to the Western Ave. Brown Line Station on the south.

I took in two pair of jeans (one brand-new, one vintage) for alteration. The new pair just needed to be hemmed. I specified ORIGINAL HEM. They weren't embellished and didn't have difficult seams or finishes and they charged me $75 to hem and the original hem wasn't applied. I called them twice while I was waiting for them to be done (I wanted to remind them, because it was prom season and they were busy). the woman on the phone said "We always do original hem" but I didn't get original hem back and now the jeans look cheaply made (the hem is also crooked). The other pair is a vintage pair of Calvin Klein jeans that I bough a size too large so they could be tailored to my body. They charged me $100 for those, which also seemed steep but I paid it. When I went to pick them up, it's like no one had actually touched the jeans. I tried them on again for them to correct it and was specific when the attendant was pinning them. I still don't think they were done, because now it looks like I have saddlebags because they were never taken in on the hips where I showed. I have now paid almost $200 for two pair of jeans to be altered that weren't what asked for; getting it fixed at another tailor will mean even more money spent. I will continue my search in Chicago for someone who can make basic alterations to clothing. Not removing/adjusting seams or dealing with challenging fabric-just 100% cotton fabric. with basic hem or just taking inches in along the side seams. Basic tailoring shouldn't cost so much or be this hard.

Linda absolutely made my wedding dress dreams come true!…read more I had a bit of a challenge when it came to buying a wedding dress. When I finally found "the one" it was at the absolute top of my budget and still needed number of alterations to make it my dream dress. Ling story short I was able to find the dress for much less than at the store but between the original size of the gown and losing more weight for the wedding than I originally planned, I ended up with a dress that was easily 4 sizes too big and still needed work to to change some of the dress to the ideal state. Linda made it all happen!!! From making it fit like a dream to lining it just the way I asked to bustling it and my veil to perfection, she did it ALL. My gown was PERFECT and I wouldn't have changed a single thing- all because Linda is a magician!!! She is also kind, thoughtful, flexible and detail oriented. I couldn't recommend Linda more for anyone looking for alterations. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR MAKING MY DREAM DRESS A REALITY!!!!

The guy kept repeating how he couldn't trust what I was saying like it was a he said/she said between me and the actual company doing the cleaning. 1) Your business is the front facing establishment I am doing business with - this is your responsibility. 2) he sent it back for free, which I was fine with - why the attitude? He made me mad, but it was unnecessary given we had a next step. When I went back to get it, it was almost all out, and he said he would send it back again, but again, it was the attitude. "This is the last time I will send it back for free" like it was my fault it happened - and at that point I'd already made up my mind I wasn't coming back regardless because of how he treats his customers. My husband went to pick up the shirt (it was his) and it was actually all out, but they started telling him how the stain wasn't pointed out the first time and he said that's because it wasn't there when it was brought here. They argued with him saying it was red sauce (no, it wasn't) and then another guy from the back came out swearing at him telling him he was a scam artist. We had arrived at a pretty easy solution, but they upped the tension each time to really piss us off with their attitude. Just be more customer focused!!
