When you're driving in it feels like an alley but there are a few shops near it and you can park there to avoid street parking. When you come in you pick your vessel and get situated at the bar. From there you get a choice of 60 scents to include in your candle! They advise you to narrow it down to top 5-6 or so so they can help you mix the best scents for your candle. Once you've narrowed it down you smell the oils together and get guidance from the employees on what pairs best. Then based on the size of your vessel they will give you a measurement of how much to include in your mixture and voila! You have a uniquely made candle for your home. Such a cool, unique activity to do solo, with a date, Friends... I went with a girlfriend of mine, and we each made one of the large candles. You can mix and match different scents-- they have hundreds to choose from-- a mix of every kind of scent you can imagine, including seasonal options. I told the team member who was helping us through the experience that I really wanted a candle that smelled like handsome rugged man had just left my house. Lol... And boy did we nail it! In general, it's a cute little vibe inside, and a very calming cathartic experience! At least when we went... it was at night there was only one other party there so it was very chill vibes and we loved it! It's a little on the pricey side, but well worth it in my opinion, and the cool thing is they keep track of the scents that you create, and you can refill the vessel when your candle is done burning ! Heads up, you don't get to take the candle with you immediately. You have to come back at least 24 hours later to pick it up, but they will hold it for up to two weeks. This is because the candle needs to dry and you obviously don't want hot wax slashing around all over your car. So keep that in mind if you're booking for a birthday or bachelor/bachelorette party and you have guests from out of town. Plan ahead and book your experience a few days before you actually want to take the candle home just to be on the safe side!! Highly recommend, will definitely be back! Super fun experience! Definitely come here if you are looking for a candle making class! A location that I have been to before only hand a handful of scents but this place has about 50 or so scents to choose from! This place is also very cute, clean, and aesthetic which I loved! You start off by choose what kind of candle you want, size, and color. The experience was super cool as you get to smell all the scents and choose ones you like. The staff was super helpful in helping me choose which scents I wanted and tried different ones out for me to try which I was very appreciative of. I thought this was going to be a more hands on experience but was okay with it! The experience is suppose to be about an hour but since we were the only ones it took us about 30-40 min to complete! After you are done the candle is ready within 3 hours but you have 2 weeks to pick it up! Overall, I would recommend this place as it's very fun and different! First off Jenna was amazing!!!!!!! Like the girl deserves a raise amazing. So all in all, I "guess" it was enjoyable... but the cost was a little more than I would have liked to pay for our 20 minute experience. Yes, we could have stayed longer, but it was pretty straight forward. Pick a smell, swirl it in the wax and add a wick. I would have preferred to make multiple smaller candles at a lower cost but that wasn't an option, but I'm sure I will enjoy my $60 candle that I also needed to tip our amazing girl on. So for $70.00, I am just being honest about my experience to me it just wasn't "so much fun let's do it again soon" if you catch my drift. (And I am someone that loves to find immersive events for our friends to do together). I would MUCH rather go to Marshall's and smell candles and spend $70 on 5 of them vs. making them at this cost. Sorry, I'm just being honest. All in all.. if you are looking for a super fun activity, I might look somewhere else as this is super quick from start to finish. Another positive was the staff. This place is amazing. We were waiting for our table @ Fox & the Hen (delicious, btw), and we decided to wander. Thankfully, we found this place, and they took us in as walk-ins! They are normally reservation-based. We were nervous about making it back to Fox & the Hen, but they assured us that the candle-making process would take no more than 30 min. And they were right! Our candle expert was so patient and helpful through the entire process. She even gave us tourists some great recommendations for places to see & eat at in Denver! She took lovely photos of us and was overall, just fun to talk to. The candles take 3 hours to be ready, and we weren't sure we would make it back in time before closing. They were flexible and agreed to let us come by the next day--even though they're closed--because someone would be there for an event. We highly recommend this cute little place to everyone. So we're watching Queer Eye, and we see this thing where they take a guy to a make your own candle place, and the wife and I joke that it would be fun to have a house scent. Then we keep riffing and we're like, actually we could totally have a house scent...and we could update it by season.... And then we're both like, we live in Denver, Colorado. Certainly there must be a place here that does this, probably multiple! So after some searching online we found a few options but loved the vibe we got from The Weathered Wick the best, and we booked an appointment! Book online, pay a fee to reserve the spot. That fee is refunded to you once you actually get there and check in. Not sure why they don't just use that toward the cost of the candles you create, but maybe you could create candles that end up being less than the cost of the reservation fee. Either way, doesn't matter too much. You'll get in, throw some aprons on, and then start marking choices for your candle on a little sheet. First you pick a vessel - what is your waxy wonder going to actually be poured into? There are a few different sizes/materials to choose from, but you do that as your base. Next you'll go through scents and mark down your favorites - they recommend a max of like 8 or something, but once you've written down your scents you'll have a seat at the bar (you'll see it in the pictures) and one of their people will help you blend and combine your scents into what you're looking for - and of course if you just want to go with one scent/oil for your candle, they'll help you do that too! But the real fun is in blending; working with your person to try different combinations of scents. Then you'll simply blend. They give you a small metal ramekin of sorts and put drops of oil in to whatever ratio you desire building to a certain amount depending on the size of the candle you want to make. Once you blend it all together (smelling all along the way!) they fill your vessel with wax so hot and clear it looks like warm water and then you place your wicks, pour in your oil into the wax and give it a bunch of stirs to make sure it's all mixed and then that's it. You'll let it set for ~3 hour minimum, and will need to wait a week before burning. So pay, go enjoy your day, and come back and pick up later that day or another day. The best part is they offer discounts if you bring your vessel back after your candle is all used up, and you want to make another candle. We love this for the fact that we're going to want to make a sort of Spring Scent and then a Summer Scent etc. So we'll be back to make more candles in the future, we're certain of that. The only knock I have is a matter of taste; I'd love to be able to go in and make a candle based on like, scent vibes. We didn't get much assistance in finding scents that matched what we went in wanting, we just had to try them all one by one and try to make what we wanted. Some advice or recommendations about what scents to blend in order to create a certain feel would've been helpful. But let me be transparent: this is super, super nitpicky. It's not even impactful enough to lose a star. This place was great, we loved it, we can't wait to get back! read more

What a great idea for a business! Who doesn't like candles? So to host a candle making activity is such a fun concept! Myself and my 4 friends came for a girls day and we had a blast. We each had totally different scented candles and they were each amazing scents. From selecting your vessel and label, to selecting scents, to having the candle bartenders help us narrow our scents down to our top 2-3 scents, to finally making the candle. It was so fun! They do require a deposit if you book in advance, and this is the preferred method of booking, but the deposit goes toward your vessel of choice, so I felt like I was getting a discount ;) The atmosphere is calming and modern. The reason I felt to only leave 3 stars is because the candle was the fastest burning 3 wick candle I've ever had. Yes, it smelled amazing but just poof it was gone in a flash. I trimmed my wicks, waited a few weeks before I lit it, did all the right candle things. My friends who had gone expressed the same thing whether they had 1 wick or 3. I had the candle burning on a small wooden side table in my foyer. I ran to the grocery store (I know shouldn't have left it burning, but have never had a problem with any candle ever.) when I came home the house was full of smoke the candle had burned to the bottom, exploded and started the side table on fire. You NEED to go to this place! I so enjoyed it. The aroma that meets you at the door will make the stress of your day disappear. Kyla is the best. She patiently answered my questions and was able to recommend fragrances that mixed well with ones that I had chosen from the fifty amazing scents. The wax you get to use to pour your candle is as clear as water and allows for a super clean burn without residue. I was having such a great time making my candle that I did not want my session to end. If you're an indecisive person like I am, you will be tested because there are more scents and scent combinations than I would have thought possible. You can choose three different-sized candles and clear, black, or brown glass jars, with the option of cotton or wooden wick. The staff gives you detailed instructions equipped with essential oils and hot wax to make your candle. The actual candle-making takes about 30 minutes (depending on how fast you can choose a scent), and then you can pick your candle up around 4 hours later or the next day once the wax has hardened.
