We walked into this shop and were greeted promptly. Jenna was great to us, and made sure we had everything we needed. We tried so many different scents. This shop is definitely heavily scented, but I didn't get a headache! The mango sticky rice perfume was my absolute favorite. I would recommend making an appointment; we got lucky when we walked in, and shortly after a lot of people started coming in and they quickly were on a wait. Definitely somewhere you should dedicate an afternoon with an appointment. It is pricey, so beware of that. They do offer sample sizes to take home, but all of the full bottles were $160+.

Myrrh, bergamot, sandalwood, tobacco, rose, cedar, musk, cashmere. Everything is scented, and slightly dangerous, like women in couture with incredible tattoos who know exactly where to place the air kiss. The space itself is definitely feminine. Pink walls. Blonde wood. Tiny perfume bottles lined up like jewelry. Beautiful people quietly smelling their wrists and nodding as if discussing wine, sex, or astrology. I know enough to know I like sandalwood and tobacco, which apparently makes me fragrance-adjacent, not fluent. And yes, gentlemen, you may enter. During my visit there were three other men there, each attached to his respective lady, all of us collectively trying to understand what exactly was happening. Because this is not normal retail. The business model took me a minute to figure out. Apparently the "scent bar" is the center of the universe, and the only real path to service is getting a seat there. Appointments are 45 minutes and free, but if you cancel it is $25, which somehow feels completely part of the experience. Without an appointment, there is a slight "take a number, but make it bergamot" energy to the whole thing. You will be summoned. I got about 10 minutes to smell some options, which honestly was not enough time for me to make a decision. Fragrance selection is not to be taken lightly. Save that for Hinge or speed dating. Choosing the right one depends on chemistry, skin, memory, mood, fantasy, and whatever version of yourself you are trying to become in that moment. So yes. Maybe it is like dating. Just with better lighting and fewer lies. To her credit, the woman helping me still pulled about eight to ten perfumes for me to try, and she clearly knew what she was doing. The inventory intentionally leans toward women-owned and queer-owned fragrance houses, which gives the place an actual point of view beyond simply smelling expensive, glamorous and mysterious. Sadly I did not fall in love on the first pass. But I also do not think 10 minutes is enough time to fall in love with a new version of yourself. So I'll be back. With an appointment.
