I didn't end up buying anything on this trip but I was in a (pleasant) visual overload here. They have very cute curated sections with themes - not all of them appealed (no thanks on sports, Taylor Swift, or mah jongg) but still a super cute layout with lots of interesting, small, different items. This store is great for gifts especially if you know someone who is really into a current 'thing' (like mah jongg, or they had a rack of diet coke merch which isn't for me, but super cute). We even went into the kids' section and were admiring the onesies and squishy toys. I'd say we spent over 30 minutes wandering here even though the store isn't huge. There are just so many different interesting items - like a condensed and specific part of Home Goods? I'm now curious if the Wish in Happy Canyon is exactly the same or has a slightly different assortment.

I want to start with the fact that this is my first "bad" review ever. I never leave reviews…read morebecause I don't think putting negative reviews out there is benefiting anyone. However, I thought I should say this. To start, this gift shop is absolutely adorable and has so many options. However, both times I have gone, the older woman that works there stands right behind me and watches me shop. The first time, I let it go because I understand I have tattoos up my arm and in this neighborhood that might not be common. But this time, I came with my husband who has gauges, and she stood right behind us and stared at us as we shopped again and it really made me uncomfortable. There were multiple people in the store and it felt as if she assumed we were stealing. Did not feel like she tried to hide it at all. The first time I was there I spent like 120 dollars and this time about 90. It really sucks because I like this shop but I don't appreciate being followed around.

Right across the way from Dream Gallery gifts I expected the same sort of deal…read more This place specializes in Native American type jewelry, turquoise, topaz, and all. As I walked in, the old Korean guy behind the counter came to his senses (you could tell this place had been empty for quite awhile) and showed me around, telling me that everything was half off today. As I perused the selection, he made the smart move of asking who I was looking around for.....seeing as how this was a jewelry shop, I say my girlfriend and then he makes the smart prosecutor move of placing the murder weapon into my hands (in this case some nice earrings for cheap). Needless to say, I bought something from this place even though I wasn't planning on it. After the sale (importantly), he then asks me my age and tells me he has a son in the infantry in Iraq in broken-accented English, that is also 23. In this sort of situation where a random stranger starts talking about their life suddenly it is easy to get dicey or annoying, but you could tell this guy was genuine and was deeply worried about his son (seeing as how Iraq is deteriorating to hell on earth). I really felt for the guy, seeing as how his heavy accent shows he is somewhat new to the US, and his only son was now fighting in a horrible quagmire of a war. I wish him a safe return
