Been going with Tim for several years and 2 residences for all things water (RO system maintenance/installation, soft water system removal, water piping issues). Great at what he does and solid person. Wouldn't think of going with anyone else. read more

Water enters your home every day. It begs the question: what else is it bringing along? We didn't think a full water treatment would be a realistic fit for our home, but thanks to Tim's expertise and resolve, he found a way after others could not. Tim and his team did an exceptional job in finding us the best solution to our water treatment needs. We are looking forward to years of improved performance and lifespan for our appliances, a much easier time keeping fixtures and shower doors free from buildup, not to mention reverse osmosis water that tastes like fresh air. read more

Highly recommended, Tim did a great job selling/installing a water softener for me at a fair price. I did my research and was set on buying a clack softener. We already have a whole house filter sold to us by someone else under the guise of being a salt-free softener...which is not a thing nor does it do that. When I told Tim, he asked how long ago it was bought, what the warranty was and specifically said "well we should keep it there, you should absolutely get your money's worth on it" and he installed in series after the filter. I spoke with multiple other dealers and two of them tried to get me to remove a perfectly functional water filter to sell me a new one in addition to the softener. So basically, he was honest, did the job, gave me a fair price, answered his phone when I had questions, followed up and was a legit good person to chat with and have in my home. And his assistant Andrew was great as well. 5 stars. read more

Was very disappointed with my interaction with Tim. Reached out to him him for a quote and he would not answer the phone when I called. He just wanted to text. He would also purposefully ignore portions of my text and answer just the parts that benefit him. Needless to say I went with someone else (who did an awesome job), so not bitter, just sharing my experience with the community here so others are aware. *Over read more

Complete let down. Bought his product one year ago. He told me it had to be serviced annually. I called and called and called leaving message, I texted, and texted and texted (to the owner, who would say things like, let me get to my office and I'll call you right away) I explained due to construction on our home, we were under a very tight schedule. No call back, no text. We ended up call So Cal Water who immediately came out, replaced the filters and were excellent. Water guy-- you really dropped the call on this one. I guess we weren't worth the trouble. **Tim-- I was in communication w/ you personally via text. You personally told me on a Friday, that as soon as you returned to your office, you would call me. As you had had to look up my model and receipt from our purchase. Which you told me you personally had done. This whole thing went done stinky. I understand you may have been busy. You need to tell the customer that. Than we can decide to either wait, or hire another company. You only spoke to my husband after her left you a very stinky message. To all reading this, please disregard 'text' and replace w/Yelp message' read more

The Water Guy - Comments - Plumbing Near Me

Wanted to charge me $150 to come look at my water softener. Everyone else came out to give me a free quote. This is how terrible this guy is. He says he cannot believe someone would come to give me a free estimate when I had 3 different plumbers come out for free. Your policy is terrible and so is your service. I would put the name of the plumbing company that I used but I do not want this review to be removed by mentioning a competitor. Look at how he accuses me of wasting his time towards the end of his reply. Tells you exactly what kind of guy this is. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS MORON. According to him, If your looking for a quote, your wasting his time. His Reply "Thanks for responding. I will post my response to your review as well as your response back so customers can decide for themselves whether my policy regarding free estimates is reasonable or not.  I don't try to upsell customers by luring them with free estimates. I respond and charge accordingly or provide free estimates when appropriate. You must not have been upfront with the plumbers you spoke with. I can't imagine many people feel entitled to waste my time for free as you admittedly intended to. I wish you all the best." (BY THE WAY, IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO CAME AND GAVE ME A FREE QUOTE AND FIXED MY WATER SOFTENER AND WATER HEATER AT A GREAT PRICE, TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER REVIEW. HIS COMPANY WAS GIVEN 5 STARS" read more

Tim was recommended by a friend and I couldn't be happier. He came on time worked late to make sure everything was done perfectly. He came back to reset the time even though he probably could have walked me through it. Above and beyond is how I would describe him and his company. I would most highly recommend him. read more

Very responsive! Same day service and very professional. Great personality and answers all your questions. Will use again in 10 years

Hate to leave a bad review but Tim installed our water heater and completely ghosted me afterward. He said if I ever needed anything after install to call him.... well I have patiently tried to get in touch with him for three months now and he doesn't return my calls or texts. So I would say if you get an install from and he promises you a warranty or to change filters afterward, I wouldn't rely on that happening unfortunately. read more

Tim was great. He was was easy to communicate with before the job. He showed up on time. His charge was what ge quoted me, no surprises. He got the job done relatively fast and did not leave a mess. And, he is a nice guy. I highly recommend him. read more

Tim was great! He set an appointment for Tim to come take a look at what was wrong with our older water softener (which many other technicians wouldn't even bother coming to look at). We appreciated that he took the time to come look at our water softener system, assess our needs and provide pricing for repair or a new system, based on the route we wanted to take. He was very communicative - even called to let us know he was running a little late and if that was ok. He really took his time going around our home to see where the system was funneling and where the issue was, and proving suggestions in such a caring fashion rather than just saying "here's a quote for a new system, yours is old" like all the other technicians we reached out to did. We'll definitely be using him again in the future! read more

Ran into a problem changing out a water softener on Saturday. Called Tim and he was able to quote me a price over the phone after I sent him some pictures. He was able to come the same day and got the water softener installed. He did great work! read more

Tim is awesome. Highly recommend him. He helped us out with our water softener system and did a great job. He came out quickly and took care of everything. read more

I found Tim here on Yelp. I requested a quote and he responded quickly, with an actual amount based on the number of people in my household and the square footage of my house. The other companies I contacted wouldn't even give me a ballpark number without coming to the house. I have 2 small children at home, so it can be difficult to talk on the phone at times - this was not a problem for Tim. We did some communication via text and via messages on Yelp. His pricing was incredibly fair based on what I had heard my family paid for their systems. He was running a little late, but he did great communicating with me what was going on. When he arrived he was super personable and easy to talk to. His philosophy was, I'm not here to take advantage of people. I'm here to make sure people have good water I would recommend Tim to anyone looking for service with care. read more

Tim installed an RO system in my parents' home in Irvine's Portola Springs area. He was quick to schedule, came within a few days to install the system, and was friendly and easy to communicate with. The system looks and works great. read more

Fast and efficient I had a leak on my counter top from the RO faucet. The water guy Tim came over changed out a couple of the tubes . Fixed the faucet and stopped the annoying gurgle that I had been listening to for the past year. Very friendly and a good loving soul. Will be calling again when I need service. read more

Tim is a reliable, friendly, passionate about his work kind of guy! His prices are competitive and he doesn't over charge for the work he does. I was in a pinch and my soft water guy never returned my call. I found Tim on YELP and asked him if he was available for the emergency I had. He was working 50 miles away and took the time to walk me through the process via pictures he suggested I send to him. I was so grateful. As a woman, you always feel like companies are likely to rip us off. We scheduled an appointment. I asked him to charge me for the help he provided over the phone and he said, "Oh, don't worry about that." I couldn't believe it. That's proof that there are still great people out there who we can trust to not over charge us. I highly recommend Tim for your water softener needs. read more

Can't say enough great things about Tim and the level of service and professionalism he provided. Tim doesn't just show up and get the job done, you can tell that he really cares about his craft and people's health when it comes to the water that families use. We had a great discussion about how California barely has legally acceptable tap water, but I didn't even know that now they put additional chemicals into the water which I do not want my family or my dogs drinking. Tim is a great guy and very knowledgable about all types of water purification and filtration systems. Very responsive, prompt, a hard worker, and has a great mind when it comes to challenging installations as we ran into a couple of issues and he would not stop and went through trial and error diagnostics until the job was done correctly. Highest recommendation I can give. read more

Tim did a great job installing a water softener and reverse osmosis. He is friendly, trustworthy and certainly knows what he is doing. Would recommend him to anyone considering water needs. read more

Not worth the spend Note: you can purchase an entire easy to install under sink water purification/filtration system on Amazon for just over $200. And a complete package of annual replacement filters for about $55. These guys charge a minimum of $229 for annual service. And if something they didn't fix during their "complete service package" goes wrong they charge you additional fees to come out and fix what they failed to fix. read more

Full disclosure I didn't end up needing Tim's services but I felt compelled to leave this review because he was so incredibly responsive and communicative. It's an amazing quality that is very rare these days. When something goes wrong with your house you want to be able to reach someone quickly through various means and Tim did that. Some business are only willing to communicate with you and provide estimates on their terms but Tim wasn't like that at all. Will bookmark him for future needs for sure. read more

We had Tim come out to our home to install a pressure regulator and check our reverse osmosis and soft water systems. Tim not only took the time to inspect everything he then took the time to explain everything to us. Tim is knowledgeable and does all the work himself. He arrived on time and kept the work area tidy. He is honest. We will hire him again when the time comes. read more

This guy is the real deal. I bought a water softener and requested a quote as his profile says quote in 20 minutes. Tim texted me within 10 minutes asking some questions. He came to my house the next day to figure out where it would go and he gave me the estimate. We scheduled a date for the installation, he showed up on time and installed the unit without any problems. He also installed a new reverse osmosis unit. Tim is very knowledgeable and will answer all your questions. If you want it done right with no surprises, call The Water Guy. read more

Tim performed exceptional job installing our new RO System. He also substituted a water faucet to match our sink faucet. I would highly recommend Tim for your RO install. read more

Tim came and explained the system to us and answered all our questions. He took the time to plot out the best location for the water softener and explained where the lines would be. We then arranged a time for him to come back to install everything. He kept us informed as to his arrival time and stayed late into the evening to finish up everything so he didn't have to come back another day. He said he usually works with another person but he installed everything alone. He worked hard, did a great job and cleaned up after. We are very pleased that we chose The Water Guy! read more

I will give the benefit of a doubt that "The Water Guy" attempted to respond to my request as shown by his response: Hi Peter, I do apologize for not responding. I thought I did last week to tell you that I'm booked on Saturdays thru the middle of April, but apparently I didn't hit send. That is my fault. I don't understand why you wouldn't call my phone number before posting a bad review though. Business owners make mistakes and every once in a while, calls or messages get missed. I do not know whether "The Water Guy" is still in business. read more

BEWARE, BEWARE! I contacted Tim, the owner, regarding a low water stream from a highly rated reverse osmosis(RO)system I purchased from Costco that supplies water to my refrigerator water dispenser. Tim recommended a dedicated additional water tank which he installed at a price equal to what I paid for the whole RO system. He installed the water tank and I noticed obvious standing water on the bottom of the sink cabinet within 2 days where he installed the tank. He had mentioned to my wife he saw signs of a leak from a dishwasher hose and he had tightened the clamp to the dishwasher hose and he saw no visible leaks. It wasn't until I told him he would be responsible for any water damage incurred that he responded to me. He had me turn the water off and he came out the next day and fixed the leak which I was grateful for. I also contacted him to let him know that the water stream from the refrigerator was still low. He then suggested 3-4 options including purchasing a whole new RO system that was 2 times what I paid for the Costco RO system. I told him that I felt like I was having to pay for his experimentation as he did not give me confidence that he knew how to fix my problem with the system. I asked him if he was going to deduct what I already paid him for the additional tank since I wouldn't be needing now if I purchased the new RO system from him. He has never responded. I expected much more from him especially with the many stellar reviews I had read on Yelp. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM AND WON'T BE USING HIM AGAIN. BEWARE, BEWARE!!! After writing the above review I was contacted by Tim. He is now offering to install his RO system deducting what I've already paid him and to return to him the tank I purchased. After consideration I felt most comfortable to NOT take him up on his offer. I don't believe you have to write a unfavorable review or remind him he would be responsible for water damage in order for him to act. read more

I had a good experience with Tim. He's probably not the cheapest out there but he was the only guy who was willing to call me back and service an RO filter system that he didn't install. It looks like most shops out there only want to do new installations and not bother with filter replacements. Tim's prices were fair and he took his time doing everything right and also explaining to me how things worked. read more

Positive experience overall! Tim provided an estimate upon initial contact and adhered to the estimate for final cost. He's reliable and experienced, and I'm so happy I chose him to replace an older RO system. Prompt and organized and left everything clean. Great guy. read more

Wow! Tim is awesome! We have been dealing with a slow leak under our sink for a while now and it finally got so bad we needed to get help. Tim was kind enough to squeeze us in last minute. He helped determine the root of the problem (there were a few but the biggest concern was the spigot for our RO water filter). He was very knowledgable and left everything looking way better than when he arrived. He was also patient with my barking dogs and screaming children. Will definitely be coming to him for future projects! I highly recommend him to anyone! A great company! read more

Tim came out to basically diagnose and fix a problem that another technician made in my reverse osmosis system. He was extremely professional (which I am finding is a rare quality in this field). He was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I will defiantly be using Tim the water guy to replace my annual filters and any other checks in the future.
