Imagine you have a problem and there's people who can solve it for you, and do it right the first time. I called them on a Friday and it was installed on Tuesday. My old gas water tank heater ( GE ) was 22 years old, not yet broken but it was time to say goodbye. I bought the gas tankless Rinnai from Home Depot. Rinnai is a Japanese brand, and At House is a Japanese-American contractor Initial in-home visit with At House was very efficient with run down of items needed to be addressed. Contractor ( Hiro, my hero ) very responsive and pro active in accommodating to my concerns: install location, gas pressure. Lucky, I didn't need to do ( 1/2" to 3/4" pipe for Rinnai ) gas line modifications. Cost estimate was accurate and very reasonable. Very quick to schedule appointment and job done very neatly, methodically, promptly and professionally. This is not their first rodeo. I had my water softener installed by Hiro and his crew previously. Sunday my Noritz tankless water heater went on the blink and stopped working. I called "At House " and spoke with Hiro since he installed my water softener previously. The unit wasn't in stock , however, Hiro committed to have the unit and installed Tuesday. As promised Hiro's assistant arrived on time and started the installation. Both Hiro and his assistant were professional , friendly and patient when I asked questions . The Rennai tankless water heater is working perfectly and the water is even hotter than the previous unit. Hiro replaced all of the hardware fittings and lines to the new unit. It was a pleasure working with Hiro and his team! We decide to replace our tank water heater with tankless, primarily to free up the big obnoxious space that the tank occupied in the corner of our garage. It was a challenging job because we chose to relocate the water heater to the outside, which meant retrofitting the pipes and gas line. Also, we have an existing recirculating hot water system which involves extra piping. We chose the top of the line Navien, as that seemed the obvious choice for recirculating systems. The gas company and federal tax credit total $1600, which covers a significant part of the installation. Not only was the price very competitive, but he didn't charge extra for the difficulties in relocating the unit to the outside of the house. With the other estimates I got, they made it seem like a huge hassle and wanted to charge accordingly. Hiro said it was no problem and knew exactly what to do! This is by far the best plumber I have ever had since the day I was born. I don't know what to do if I did not meet Hiro. So long story short my tankless water heater failed again and the culprit was the hard water in our area. Knowing that Rinnai had a bad track record providing qualified plumbers, I was not too keen calling one from Rinnai. But I had to, so I called At House and talked to Hiro. I was smart this time, I yelped At House and I was in disbelieve with the 5 stars review. I had to make sure that these 5 stars review were real. It did not take that long for At House to prove its worth. I spoke with Hiro who explained everything so clearly and Hiro did not took advantage of me like many other plumbers before him who saw me as "free meat". So, I scheduled with At House to replace my water heater the following Monday. On Monday, Makito came and completely replaced my water heater in less than 2 hours. YES, you heard me right, less than 2 hours. I was skeptical at first, but after I looked at the installation quality, Makito's courtesy and customer service (Makito registered my water heater, thank you!), and At House honesty and transparent pricing, I am now a believer. I immediately scheduled At House to install water softener the following week. I did not check around about the pricing, however 2 days after I did check around and I was more impressed with Hiro, he was right, if not lower than most of the market price in my area for water softener. Remove old water heater to install new tankless water heater. Very detailed and priced accordingly. Money was spent instead on backyard landscaping/remodeling. Project was put on hold. We are back in 2021 and the Tankless Water Heater was on my TODo list. Hiro came out for the detailed estimate. Model quoted Navian condensing unit Retrofit existing old exhaust line to accommodate new line Repair replace drywall In-line decalcifying filter New condensation line At House is the ONLY company to retrofit existing old water heater exhaust line. All Other contractors want to cut through Drywall to vent to the side of the house. Not a pleasant look plus the smell of the exhaust vent. All priced accordingly and even better qualifying rebate from the Gas Company. This time I chose the Navien unit over the Rinnai wifi unit Pros Cons dependent on wifi At House notified me in the past Rinnai units had issues with their Wifi module not staying connected. At House is the ONLY plumber you need to call! They are very prompt in returning your call, clear, precise and accommodating. We have had our Noritz tankless water heater since 2008 - it has been a great water heater with very few problems. At House has done some routine maintenance since its installation, but admittedly our lack of "routine" maintenance (neglect) led to its demise. Our local water is "hard" and without flushing the system at least once a year just cluttered the inside with deposits causing it to leak. Hiro came by our house just a few hours after our call to diagnose the problem. He called me to explain his findings and was able to fit us in for a removal and new installation the very next morning. We were without hot water for a very short period and even actually enjoyed our cool showers, thankfully it's summertime. Hiro was early to install, through, and left without a trace, other than a new shiny replacement tankless water heater. HIRO IS A HERO!! After several calls and quotes from companies to install a tankless water heater in my small condo, the easy decision was to go with At House. Hiro was very thorough & knowledgable. He was also on top of everything with getting the work permitted through the City of Laguna Niguel and the final inspection. The work area was clean, quick and efficient and I never once felt uneasy about any aspect of the work! Recently, late Friday the day after Thanksgiving, my heater stopped working. It didn't seem to be the electric connection because anything else plugged in would work but when the heater was plugged in it would trip the breaker. I called Hiro and he suggested that I plug it into another outlet just to test whether it was the outlet or the heater. I didn't have a 3-prong extension cord - in a fit of cleaning out closets of things I never use, I had given them all away literally 2 weeks before! Hiro didn't suggest that I go buy one, he didn't tell me it would be inconvenient, he didn't sound put out, he didn't ask if I could wait, nope! Instead he professionally & cheerfully told me he would be on his way in an hour or so. I did feel terrible about it and decided to scour my garage and luckily found one & was able to not waste his time. Turns out, it was the outlet. Also, the when speaking with the City Inspectors separately, they too were very impressed with Hiro. I wanted a tankless to squeeze in some extra room in my tiny, awkwardly shaped laundry 'room' and this did the trick for some much needed storage. They managed to quickly and SAFELY install my Rinnai tankless that I purchased on my own, and do so without causing any damage to the garage structure.
