Came here on a whim yesterday night at around 7:30pm! My bf and I were expecting a wait given how nice the weather was, but we actually scored an inside table right away. The restaurant was super accommodating because we wanted to be seated in a table of 4 where we had friends arriving in half an hour but wanted to get started on drinks. They had no problems and gave us a 2 hour limit (due to a reservation at 9:30p) which I thought was completely fair! For drinks: I got the Tanager and Rose Bill. Both were great! I enjoyed the Rose Bill more as I found it more refreshing among the two. My boyfriend got the Robin which he also enjoyed esp as a mezcal fan. For apps: While we waited for the other couple, we split the Brandade purely out of curiosity and after reading great reviews. It's like cod spread you put on sourdough and came with garlic and lemon. It was definitely interesting and not something I've ever had before! Delicious. I don't think I would get it again since I'm not huge on fish but definitely glad we got to try it! Once the other couple showed up, we ordered the Korean wings and charred broccoli. Wings were also very enjoyable, but wow. The charred broccoli. It was like barbecue with a perfectly charred flavor to it, my friend said it was the best broccoli she's ever had lol!! Will definitely get it again. The other veggie dishes also sounded amazing and hope to try more next time. For entrees: I got the spaghetti alla chittari, my friend got the mushroom agnolotti (which I've had before and recommended to her), and our bfs got got the braised pork shoulder. I again ordered my dish based on curiosity and hadn't had a pasta like it before (butternut squash, bacon, spiced pepitas, poblano, caramelized onion), and while it was good, I didn't realize it would be slightly sweet (prob from the butternut squash)! The bacon bits helped cut into that which was nice. I think I would have enjoyed my second choice more which was the fusilli, so I'll get that next time! The mushroom agnolotti was amazing as usual, just notably smaller than other pastas dishes like another review mentioned. My friend was still satiated after eating the apps along with it. The boys had no difficulty finishing off their pork shoulder, so I'd say that means well :) Overall we had a great dinner. My friends were glad to have tried it as they now live in the suburbs and don't get to try foods in the city too often. I'm glad there's a parking lot (paid parking still) too! Great food, nice cocktails, super service, and awesome atmosphere! Had a reservation for a Saturday night and went with a small group. I started with the Rose Bill cocktail which was great- sweet but not overly. I had the butternut squash falafel which was very good. The texture of the falafel was extra crunchy which I like and it came with hummus, kale, chickpeas, and little cubes of roasted butternut squash. I liked the variety of textures and flavors. Because of the name of the dish, I was kind of expecting the actual falafel itself to be made with butternut squash so that threw me just a bit but overall it was very good. I tried bites of other dishes at the table including the spaghetti and the fusilli both of which were very tasty. I love the menu and definitely want to try more next time! read more

The Warbler, which is the sister spot of my favorite restaurant of all time- Gather, is similarly creative, delicious, and popular. We had some snafus with our reservation and they put in the effort to have us seated within 30 minutes, which they definitely didn't have to do. The only reason I knocked a star off is because it's right next to Gather and Gather is my all time favorite restaurant. As a stand-alone, it's a five star spot- but if you can go to Gather, I'd suggest it. Either way, can't go wrong. read more

Cute spot, interesting offerings. It was nice to be able to have lunch without needing to use an app. I had the pea falafel, which was good, but those were my first and last turnips of any variety. I like going out to be adventurous and try new things. This would have blown my mind if I was still vegan... ... i duno it just wasn't very impressive what with the kale and hummus and onions. Staff not friendliest - from hostess not being welcoming snapped "do you have a reservation?" We sat at the bar and it was super cute and cozy the rest of the restaurant looked so cute in the dining room as well. The Warbler feels elevated but casual at the same time-which I didn't know could be achieved so easily. We were recommended the cauliflower by several people which we tried and it was an absolute home run. We also had the arugula salad and the braised Pork shoulder. It was literally melt in your mouth. We split this between two of us and we're full but not like overly busting at the seams full which was perfect. Our server/bartender was kind and attentive-given it was a little busier at the bar. A friend took me to this great find fir a casual lunch. I read reviews saying it can get really loud but because we were there at 230....perfect ambiance. Busy but not too much. Great service from Jr who was friendly polite and efficient. Food is great basic fare with enough choices for most people to enjoy. Reasonably priced and delicious. The warblers vibe is the place you'd bring your "nothing fancy" uncle when you wanted to be a little fancy. Or when your fancy friend wants to eat brunch but you're feeling something that isn't 100$ a plate. Let's just say you can walk in without a reservation but you'd feel out of place if you weren't dressed somewhat nice. The warblers vibe is, beefy flatbread that doesn't skimp on the toppings BUT also sells charred broccoli with little crisp garnishes on top. Inside is very classy, clean, white marble. But when it's busy and packed still feels communal. Outside is a bit more casual but still cloth napkins. Being in Lincoln square, the prices for what you get are very reasonable when you know you'd be paying 8+ on anything closer to the loop. Made a reservation for 10 to meet out of state family here. After everyone traveled a long distance to be here (including kids), they sat us at 2 tables that were a few feet from one another. Both managers were very rude and refused to move the tables closer together. It was the most ridiculous terrible service I have ever experienced. When we said we would leave, one of the managers came to move the tables even further apart while we were standing there just to make a point. Awesome ambience on the inside and an excellent patio as well and that's where we sat. Impeccable service and really appreciated the selection of non alcoholic drinks they offer that aren't just sodas as my wife was four months pregnant at the time. We shared three items - the chicken wings which were as good as advertised, the Hawaiian flatbread was very tasty, and then the fusilli which was our least favorite of the three and felt it lacked flavor. Not every dish you order can be a home run, but two out of three is pretty darn good and add in the great service and awesome vibes and you've got a great restaurant. Every time I come here, I have a fabulous experience. The ambiance is amazing and they have one of the best patios in Lincoln Square. Service is always outstanding, as are drinks. I stuck with wine last night, as they have an extensive selection. For appetizers, our table shared the apple salad and the roasted cauliflower (which is the best cauliflower I have ever had anywhere, ever, hands down). I chose mac and cheese for my entree, which was great. Everyone else in our party was pleased with their dinners. For dessert we split the carrot cake, which was exceptional. Great value for the quality of food we received. I am so happy this place exists and I will keep coming back for more. read more

Excellent service, everyone was so hospitable--we arrived 15 mins early and our table was ready to go. Food was really tasty and we ordered a bit too much, but made for a nice lunch the next day. Started out with the boneless Korean wings which are really savory crispy fried chicken thighs in a spicy sweet sauce. Also had the crispy cauliflower, which was really the veggie version of the chicken thighs, but tasty nonetheless. I had the falafel for my main which was a huge portion (this was my next day lunch) and my best mate had the mac 'n cheese. He gobbled up the whle thing despite our generously sized starters! I have been DYING to try their supper club menu which allows you to choose five different dishes to eat family style with your party. The portions are generous and the price point is unbeatable. Normally a place in Chicago of this quality food/experience would cost 2-3x as much. My friends and I had the crispy tempura ribs, squash panzanella, barbacoa flatbread, mushroom agnolotti, and finished with a warm pizookie for dessert. Although the tempura ribs weren't as crispy as I was hoping, it was packed with savory umami flavor. The squash panzanella and mushroom agnolotti were my favorites. Nummy! This was our second visit to Warbler and enjoyed it more than our first time, probably because we came with a group of friends. This is the perfect place for gathering or meeting up with people. The bar and dining areas were packed so definitely make a resy. We started with the Mac and cheese and the chicken sausage flatbread to share. Both were amazing. Since the pastas are made fresh here, I decided on the bucatini cacio e pepe--loved it! I was super hungry so I could have gone with a double portion (not an option). The group decided on carrots and the crispy cauliflower sides to share Desserts were amazing. We were six and got two to share. The carrot cake and the brown butter cake. I usually don't care for carrot cake but this version one me over. Instead of a cream cheese frosting, the carrot cake was topped with vanilla ice cream and candied pecans. Went last night for my birthday with my 3 friends and had a fantastic time. Sachi(like Versace) was our server and took great care of us. I'm not much a sweets person but she found out it was for my birthday and brought me a scoop of ice cream. It was divine. She recommended a few things and they were all so good. if you want a good burger, theirs is a winner. Flatbread went hard too. She said she liked the date and bacon one and wow. Make a reservation or wait in line! This place is busy and for good reason. The outdoor covered patio is a great spot for the summer and early fall. The waitstaff is friendly and quick without hovering over your shoulder. Menu has a nice selection without being overwhelming. Everything is mostly shared plates with a small selection of entrees. Everything was easy to share. Waitstaff offered us more plates as we messed them up but we passed...I loved using my chicken sausage flatbread to get the rest of the cheese ravioli sauce. The Warbler is a little more upscale American restaurant that features a variety of cuisines that will likely please most people in your party. They have a host of flatbreads, burgers, pastas, and salads to please everyone. We started with cocktails. I got The Rock hopper, which is a fruity rum based drink. Although it is both fruity and rum-based, it was balanced and not overly sugary. I enjoyed it so much I almost got a second. Our group shared the Arugala and the Strawberry and Avocado salads. Both were excellent, but I liked the Arugala most because of the little ricotta pillows in the salad. For the main course, I took the waiter's recommendation of the mushroom agnolotti. I occasionally don't like mushrooms, but I wanted to be adventurous. The pasta did not disappoint. The mushroom flavor was present and paired well with tastes of feta and garlic. It was delicious! As a heads up, I would not get it on a first date because it was strong (that just means it's good). Others in my group ordered the burger and salmon. All of us samples each others and agreed "Every dish is so good!". I also wanted to note that the interior is extremely cute. I love the bar set up, and their holiday decorations were fun. It is genius that they set up their patio for the colder months. We did not get dessert....this time. I will probably order the burger and get dessert next time. Wildly impressed with the food and service we had for dinner tonight. With a gluten and dairy restriction, I was worried to see how many options I would have here. The server (Nolan - a total rockstar) walked me through a dozen things that would be a good fit for me - I never thought I'd have so many choices! I decided on the asparagus and falafel because I just couldn't narrow it down. Both dishes were beautiful and flavorful. My husband had the wings (large portion, a little spicy) and the mushroom pasta (rich, tender pillows of deliciousness), and he absolutely raved about both of them. 10/10 would recommend especially if you have dietary restrictions. Service was generally very efficient (at times sliiiiightly slow but I think that was just due to some of the cook times for food). Our server was definitely keeping track of us and all the tables near us though! We ordered the carrots, Tuscan kale salad, whole wheat bucatini and the spaghetti alla chitarra and the skillet cookie. The carrot dish was very good-3.5/5. I loved the mix of textures, slight heat from the chili, and the crunch from the onions. The slivered carrots on top were nearly inedible with how salty they were though. The full carrots were great! Tuscan kale salad 4/5 delicious, fresh, sweet. I loved all the elements but properly mixing it was a bit of a challenge with the macadamia butter on the side. On the plate it looks lovely but wasn't the most practical (it was delicious though! Spaghetti-5/5. This was my dish and it was absolutely delicious!!!! I enjoyed the sweetness from the corn and the mild poblano heat.pickled onions were great. Bucatini-5/5. Delicious, savory, cheesy. Really great. Skillet cookie-5/5 delicious, HOWEVER, it's HUGE. This was such a cute neighborhood spot! We sat at the outdoor patio, which adds to the experience in my opinion. We got a little bit of everything food wise to split, which is a great way to go if you have someone in your party who wants to share. The mushroom soup and the arugula salad are not to be missed. Delicious! Our only regret was not coming to The Warbler sooner. It has been on our list for a while now, but we finally made it. It was really tasty with great presentation. We would recommend this restaurant to friends and family. It seemed perfect for a date night or going out with the girls. One thing we have to note though, a lot of people brought their young kids who either couldn't sit still or regulate their volume. It's surprisingly hard to find a great BLT, and I have to say, The Warbler delivered! The bacon was cooked perfectly and the bread wasn't crunchy which is typically my biggest gripe, so it was well buttered and had the perfect about of mayo! The food here is THE star of the show but service falls short. I've tried this place 3+ times just to make sure I'm not crazy when I say that the bar service is curt. I've had table service and it is totally fine, the food is wonderful but SOME of the bartenders are unfriendly and most importantly unprepared. Just maybe avoid the bar on your visit here.
