Not fried bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. Very good.. So good 2 were eaten before taking a pic!

What a nice surprise to walk in a stylish, artistic wine bar in a small town. It's very friendly here and you can pick up one of there many board games while you sip on delicious wine. They offer tapas to go along with all their wine selections. We got the jalapeño poppers that are not fried! A nice change where finding fried food is too easy. The jalapeño poppers where wrapped in delicious turkey bacon and very tasty. Paired with their Sauvignon Blanc made this find a gem in our book. Wish we would have discovered this place years prior. See you next time!!

We enjoyed the ambiance, food, and drinks here. The four of us sampled many of their small plate menu items, and I highly recommend the stuffed dates and the spanikopita. The dates were sweet, balanced with tangy blue cheese (but not too much, doesn't overpower). The spanikopita had delicious crispy phillo dough with spinach and cheese inside. Their Guinness chocolate cake was so moist, gooey, rich, and straight up tasty. The wines we sampled were wonderful and I had no complaints. Our server seemed to be very knowledgeable on every type of available wine and spirit. I feel like their wine flight drink description cards could be nicer, and have actual information on the winery where it was sourced. They only describe the type of wine. One of my cards was also hand written with dry erase marker. We'll come back next year on our annual Minocqua trip!

My favorite bar in the Northwoods. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. Try the tuna.

Note that they have downtime in the fall so be sure to check their hours in their website. Upon entering the parking lot you feel like you're entering an enchanted forest with lights and an outdoor fire pit greeting you. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess and we were immediately seated. We were out kim an addition which had ample windows facing out to the lighted trees. Our waitress was very attentive and we were started with a relish tray. It was skimpy compared to what you use to get at supper clubs but appreciated as a comp. We received our meals with a comp loaf of bread. I'm GF so passed on the bread. My husband said it was average and appreciated. He had the prim rib and I had a tenderloin steak with mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes which the first couple of bites in the end was chewy but as I moved to the next bites it was very tender. I enjoyed the Hungarian mushroom soup and my husband enjoyed his clam chowder. We were too full for dessert and I took 1/2 of my meal home to enjoy for lunch the next day. We didn't try any cocktails. We would go back to try more menu items, maybe something light so a dessert could be enjoyed.

Pub' n Prime is pretty old school looking. I love the mid-century modern looking decor that meets northwoods. There is a cool outside tiki bar that we didn't take advantage of but it was going strong out there. My party sat at the bar for a drink. Cheese spread and crackers on the bar. Very nice. Standard Wisconsin drinks including ice cream drinks are available as well as tropical "slushy" drinks. The staff was great! Super friendly. We had curds and onion strings for appetizers. There were enough for the 5 of us. Our server, Mary was helpful with the menu and we ordered Broasted Chicken...1/2 a chicken. Very moist. Light crunchy breading. Ribs. Nice big slab of fall off (with a nudge) the bone. Nice sweet sauce. Orange Whisky Chicken. A boneless breast grilled and served in a sweet orange sauce. Shrimp. Fried. Pretty basic but good. Prim Rib. It was reported to be a bit salty but it looked good. The sides of asparagus could have been a bit bigger but they were prepared well and tasted good. One of the nicest things is the salad bar of which one trip is included with each entree. Two soups, bread, rolls, green salad mix with all the extras, pasta salad, bean salad, nice choice of dressings. It's great to have salad bars making a comeback. We ordered one piece of homemade Carrot Cake for dessert and it was fabulous! And on top of being a very clean restaurant the bathrooms were also very nice! Pub' n Prime is worth a try. We will bring the family back.

The only good part of our visit then was our waitress and the food. Due to weather we ended up here tonight. The bartender was the best part of our night. Lynn was fantastic. Friendly. Professional. We discovered she had also been our waitress five years ago too. Now to the food today. The worst prawns I have ever had. Over done, dry and tough not to mention so small. They offered to substitute a small prime rib for the prawns because it could be ready faster. A bit dry but edible.

Just not my fave. Went with a raspberry lemon drop next that was delectable! We came around 4:30 for an early dinner and were seated promptly. By the time we left around 6:00, the place was absolutely packed and for good reason. Service was prompt and the dining area was nicely decorated and not overcrowded. Our waitress was Melanie, and she was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu options with some great recommendations. Appetizers were great -- stuffed mushrooms and haystack onions. For dinner, I went with the seafood stuffed salmon. The other two in our group both had the NY strip. One with mushrooms. The other with au poivre sauce. Everything was delicious and the portions were great. Finished off with a brandy Alexander and an espresso, both amazing. We'll definitely be adding this place to our rotation in the area for when we want to do a more upscale/pricy spot. Worth the stop for sure!
