Had dinner at The View at Mountain Lodge Telluride and it was Great. The food was going the "Colorado Cuisine for (out of state) Travelers " vibe and the chef & kitchen certainly delivered. Solid delivery of, let's say, Colorado Classics. The ambiance is amazing - they could film movies here it is so picturesque. Our service was top-tier and I'll add the employees there have some (overly) demanding clientele. There must be a business relationship with the lodging's time-share business, because there were a few overly 'entitled' diners. I get it: you're an 'Owner', but hey- it's a timeshare... you're not *that* fancy :) Definitely recommend - and everyone be good to your servers and they'll return the karma. read more

Cozy quite delicious. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful dinner here on our first night in Telluride. The view was incredible you can see the gondolas going around in the background. They also had TVs of the games with my boyfriend enjoyed. I got the chicken pot pie and it was truly the best I've had and we also ordered the smashburger and hot wings. We had two meals here on a recent stay at the Lodge. The restaurant is called "The View" and is off the lobby of the hotel by the pool overlooking the beautiful mountains and valley. We had our two pups with us so we at by the pool both times, which was really nice. I will just start off by saying our dinner experience was five stars, our breakfast was between 1 and 2 thus the 4 stars. I am terrible remembering names in one meet type situations, perhaps that is a good thing in the case of breakfast. Dinner, our server was outstanding. She was a young lady with long blondish curly locks with a sparkling smile. She made our entire dinner experience exceptional from our cocktails to our dessert. She made sure we were well taken care of and looked after despite being sort of off the beaten path from most of the restaurants guests. Our food could have been terrible and I would have given the review five stars, that is how exceptional her service was -- so management if you are reading this -- the young lady originally from New Orleans/DC --- she is a KEEPER. I would recommend -- cocktail, I think it was called the Pig's Puff? (amazing whiskey drink); Caesar salad was super fresh as in old school fresh - I had it with shrimp and the roasted carrots were off the charts delish. Breakfast, our server acted like she would have rather been somewhere else than serving us. It is not worth getting into the details of every turn of terrible service but more like her lack of either experience/knowledge or even interest in job but if we were not hungry and too lazy to take the gondola down into Telluride we would have probably left. A woman from inside came out to our table and asked us how our breakfast was and we said the food was okay (It is pretty hard to screw up breakfast) and she was like "and the service?" and made a face... then said "because it is not so hot inside" and we just laughed and said yeah not out here either. read more

Our stay at the Mountain Lodge had a few kinks, but visiting The View was a fantastic experience. Inside and pool side. Most importantly: Gratien & Meyer, Brut Rosé Crémant de loire lubricated a post COVID reunion. We added all kinds of salads to pretend that we live healthy lives. Especially the roasted beets were delicious. Cocktails .. I barely remember .. the afternoon happy hour was awesome. read more

While in Telluride, our hotel's restaurant was a welcoming option for decent meals. We went to the view for both breakfast and lunch on two separate occasions. My favorite thing about this place was its service. A very friendly staff who were easy to talk to and seemingly cared about the customers, even during the slow hours. The food is a-ok. The grilled chicken breast sounded very appetizing, but the kind of sell you short with how they present it. It's cut up for a 12 year old, and for $24 it doesn't justify the portion. For breakfast I went with the View Breakfast. A simple breakfast, but again, for $22, it doesn't quite make sense. I'm curious how the restaurant holds up during the winter seasons. It was pretty mellow and slow when we dined there - perhaps the price tags are too high. But, there's enough adequate quality within their offerings that make the View a fine choice for a meal when out in Telluride. read more

We celebrated "Chinese New Year's Eve" here at the restaurant, and the service was great. We ordered the following 3 entrees: bison bolognese ragu, chicken pot pie, and rainbow trout. The food was overcooked and dry, the chef didnt know what salt was. They didn't even ask how we wanted are food cooked.The restaurant was next to a gym and pool. The food was brought in from another room. They didn't even use the kitchen to make food. There was a dog barking the whole time. The restaurant looked nice. Our table was in a waiting room. The service was very slow as it took about 20 mins to receive our cocktails, and the iced tea that one of us ordered was completely forgotten about until we spoke up. The baked Brie appetizer was delicious, and probably the best thing I ate all evening. I shared the New York strip steak with my sister which came out lukewarm. The other person at our table who also ordered this said his was lukewarm as well and severely overcooked. Our steaks also came out 15 mins after everyone else received their entrees. This is a completely new restaurant for the 2022-2023 season, and based on my recent dining experience I believe it is poised to become a hidden gem in Mountain Village. The new executive chef delivers a menu that will have people jumping in the gondola from town to enjoy a stellar dining experience with one of the best views of the Alpenglow sunsets in Telluride. I had the ravioli appetizer and the tagliatelle for my main course, and both were amazing. My fellow diners raved about the NY Strip and Colorado Elk. I wish I had saved room for dessert. They summed up our impressions perfectly when they said, "The View is t a good hotel restaurant, it's a great restaurant that just happens to be in a hotel." This restaurant promotes itself as a fine dining establishment with prices to match in a ski resort town. Instead, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Read what others have said, I'm not alone in how horrible this place is. Seating: After booking online and given the option to specify being seated in the dining room, we were seated in an empty lobby outside the restaurant space on a high top table in a dark corner with metal Ikea stools. I asked the host about this and he told me that he would clear a table and it would be ready right away. 25min later we were seated, after multiple other parties had arrived and were seated in the dining room. One party was seated at the table he told me was being cleared for us. Service: We were served our appetizer with no napkins or silverware. The sever apologized and then we never saw her again. Instead it was a revolving door unfriendly staff including the bartender who was especially rude. My friend's $16 drink was served in a plastic soup container. While this may be a fun gimmick, the servers should be upfront about how it is served. We were also never offered water refills at any point. The meal: Our main courses came out one hour after we ordered them. And as others have pointed out in their reviews, parties that arrived after us got their food before us. A salad we ordered just never arrived. The food was ok but certainly not worth the prices-- everything was under salted and greasy for prices in the $40- 50 per main range. We had the BEST dinner at The View! We stayed at Mountain Lodge and ate here for dinner two nights - it was that good. They won best view in Colorado and I understand why. From our table, we had stunning views of the pool/hot tub area, gondola and mountains. What's even better than the view is the food! We got the tuna volcano as an appetizer and then shrimp scampi for dinner. Both were packed with flavor and delicious. They also have a brunch but sadly we didn't make it there. I stayed at the Mountain Lodge for three nights and made my way to The View restaurant everyday! The service is beyond friendly, knowledgable and on point. Not only is the food incredible, the sweeping views of the mountains from the dining room is just incredible. I highly recommend trying the burrata, bison tartare, elk and lobster bisque soup. They also have fantastic craft cocktails and a nice selection of wine. Can't wait to take my mother next time! read more

Our "drag" brunch was far less than desired. No one thought to mention to us the numerous times we asked when the show would start- that the show was cancelled. So while we ate the burnt food that the staff had the audacity to serve, the same staff kept playing it off like the show was to still go on so we'd stay and spend money. Ordering drinks at the bar was a chore for 2 ingredient drinks... again, our food was burnt..just overall we were severely disappointed. Did I mention our food was burnt? We didn't take a picture of our breakfast croutons (burnt French toast sticks) but I did get one of the crunch wrap. Maybe the chef should spend more time in the kitchen instead of fraternizing with the customers.. just a suggestion for future "shows." Pretty sure you could go to other places worth your time and money. As much as we love supporting the LGBTQ community, we won't be back to the view. Overall, As much as the brunch sucked, it was saved slightly by alcohol and the burlesque ladies who were quite fabulous and welcoming to let us crash their after party. The Villagers Ski Club visited Telluride and stayed at the Mountain Lodge, home of The View Restaurant. The club had a combo "Welcome Party" and "Buffett Dinner" upon our arrival (34 of us). I have nothing but compliments for everyone at The View involved with putting this event together. The charcuterie boards and appetizers were incredible and they even had a private bar for us. The Buffett Dinner was Salmon and Chicken Parm plus all the fixings. Didn't know you could get such great salmon in the mountains and the chicken parm was huge, tender and great tasting. The wait staff was kept very busy and was non-intrusive helping make the evening that much more enjoyable. The Chef even brought out a piece of birthday cake with candles for one of the club. Kaitlyn James was instrumental in helping us put this all together and I would highly recommend other clubs to use the wonderful benefits of The View at Mountain Lodge near Mountain Village at Telluride. Personally, a few of us had a wonderful dinner our last night there and then hung out by the fireplace have some drinks and playing games into the evening. What a great atmosphere. read more

Well, let's lead with the website advertising bottomless brunch and a brunch menu. When we arrived we found this not to be the case. While they could not accommodate the brunch menu the server did accommodate the bottomless. The first round of drinks was great and then the manager,Arturo, arrived and decided to take over making drinks. He initially said it was a 2 ounce pour and when we questioned it because They were lacking Prosecco though when we asked again he shared it was a 3.5 ounces of Prosecco to OJ in the mimosa and Prosecco to club soda in the Aperol spritz- it was not a 3.5 ounces pour unless he was confused on what he was pouring first. He then moved to pour behind the bar where you couldn't see to clearly hide the ratio. Very disappointing to be misled during the process and then to have the restaurant not accommodate when it was their mistake to begin with. Our server, Sebas, was wonderful, and it was obvious he was doing it best given the limitations by his manager. If you want bottomless OJ this is the place for you but the manager left a lot to be desired. read more

We had an absolutely shocking experience this morning with a member of the staff at this restaurant. We walked in and there was no host stand, we saw others seating themselves so we sat ourselves at a table as well. We waited for service for about 10 minutes, when a woman with dark hair and a cowboy hat approached us and aggressively asked if we were with the party upstairs. When we said no, she said "this table is reserved, you need to move", along with other extremely rude comments about us finding somewhere else to sit. She ripped a cloth napkin off of the table in disgust that we had touched it. I understand our mistake for sitting at a reserved table (although we had no way of knowing this), but the way she spoke to us was completely unacceptable. We left the restaurant. read more

Decent food at not-too-expensive prices. We had the green chile soup (good heat, but a little bland for my tastes -- could have used some salt), crispy cauliflower (lightly breaded with parmesan crumbs which was nice, but could have been fried a bit longer -- some of the parmesan crumbs were still soggy) and two burgers that were both well cooked/seasoned. The view is great. The food is average. And the service is the worst in Telluride. We we're the only table for Sunday breakfast before the World cup. The server waited until four other tables were sat before our order was out in. An hour later, after the three other tables that were sat behind us got there food, we got half of our order. The other half, we had to talk to the chef to get it. It came out in five minutes. An hour later, the missing food we got from the chef came out again. It seriously was a comical of errors and mismanagement. I felt bad for the kitchen. read more

While staying in Telluride I found this place on Yelp and I'm glad I did! My two gal pals and I got up early one morning and decided to take the Gondola up the Mountain Village and boy was that beautiful! We walked about 15 minutes up the road to this restaurant that's inside the hotel. It's called "The View" for a reason - the view is basically 360 and it's gorgeous! I ordered the breakfast hash and it was the best breakfast I had during my entire stay in Telluride. They've got a pretty legit Bloody Mary too ;) Service was on point! read more

Even though I was a guest of the attached hotel, I wasn't planning to eat at the restaurant. A local I met on my first day on the slopes told me she loves this restaurant, so I changed my mind and gave it a try. The restaurant is really beautiful and cozy, with high ceilings, lots of dark wood, a beautiful bar, and a big fireplace. Each time I went in there (a few times, I just relaxed on the couches in the corner), it had a relaxing vibe to it, which is just what I wanted after a long day of skiing. Points for atmosphere! I also like that they note on their menu that they source everything as locally as possible, even listing the names of some suppliers. I got the Caprese salad, which is made with burrata here instead of mozzarella and comes with pesto, arugula, and sundried tomatoes. It was so good that I went back and ordered it again the next night! I wish I could speak to the other food or drinks (I came close to getting the hot chocolate, which looks amazing), but my visit was very short. I'll definitely be back to this restaurant my next time in Telluride! read more

This is an absolutely beautiful restaurant in terms of the atmosphere and the view, and the service is mostly okay. And if you are staying at Mountain Lodge, then it is really useful to be able to eat some of the meals on the property rather than having to go elsewhere or to always be cooking. ' Many of the meals here are fairly well prepared, but the ingredient quality is really lacking. I am really picky about ingredients (eating pretty much only local/organic/etc. type food at home), and this is not even close. Which is really unfortunate since other aspects of the restaurant are very nice. I will say that I sort of liked the macaroni and cheese though. And I have had so little success cooking pasta myself in Telluride (something about the water boiling at a lower temperature than at sea level - maybe there is a trick that I haven't figured out) that I likely will get that again as carryout, just as a side dish to serve with other things that I cook myself. A restaurant with quality ingredients would make my stays here much, much nicer though. read more

I seem to only write bad reviews as otherwise I am very pleased with the food. The View has the absolute worse service we have every had. Over an hour and a half to get our cold food and the server never came back to fill our water or ask if we wanted anotjer drink. We had 7 people and the food came at 4 separate times. Stayed at this property recently and went to this grill for dinner. Bottom line is food is decent but service is horrendous. Place was empty except for one table of guests. Bar tender acted as Maitre d' and directed us to a table positioned right at the entrance. We asked to sit at a table deeper in the restaurant and were met with eyes rolling and general irritation. So we didn't sit at that preferred table which remained empty and unused for the entire duration of our dinner Which of course I pointed out as we finished. Too bad - this is a nice 5 star resort but this restaurant - the main one in the lodge - feels like it belongs in a 2 star motel chain. read more
