Salmon & Chicken

Beautiful views! Awesome and attention staff. We got the salmon and chicken, and then ended with the peach cobbler. Everything was phenomenal!!

Only good thing about this place was literally THE VIEW from the restaurant. We made the reservation at 8:30 pm and ordered the food. The food came at 9:30 pm. There weren't many people and I don't understand why it took so long. No one really explained why food came late nor apologized. I ordered lamb racks and what I got was loin chop. Seriously disappointed. Imagine you ordered filet mignon and t bone was served. The meat was very very dry and hard to chew. Food is really awful here. Don't waste your money. If you want to come for the view, just come for desserts.

Great view, not very busy restaurant, but the service was a little slow. They did just have a wedding party there, but they were already done eating before we were sat down. The room that they seat you in a very large and only has a couple of tables, but considering it feels like one family running everything I'm glad they don't have more tables. The food was good, not great, but they tried. Had the food been served quicker, I think we would come back here to eat when we are in town

Trout

Back again after Covid. We had the trout and it's the best we've had anywhere. If you don't know about this spot, you are missing out. We love their food, the views, the music, the history of The Crags and The View. Do NOT miss eating here!

We visited Estes Park in early August, an ideal time to visit. The View restaurant, attached to our hotel Crags Lodge, was very well maintained and the service was quick. We struck up a conversation with the owner Michael, who was very personable. He was extremely open about the business, its hours, which included high and low times. You could tell he was proud of The View restaurant. it was a pleasure speaking with Michael, but it's food and service you're probably most interested in reading about. Food came quickly, and we had no complaints. We cleaned our plates all while enjoying a beautiful view to the mountains. As a bonus - Michael shared some of his family's takes on Whiskey drinks with me, which was a nice touch. If you're visiting, ask for his family's Old Fashioned! We vowed to come back.

Lots of fun to be had at this place. I really enjoyed it. Was really nice to sit by the river out on the patio.

Our food and service were great! Parking for the restaurant was up a slippery hill which was not safe. Great view!

Our server Ocean was attentive and kind. We really enjoyed the Mediterranean Chicken and Peach Cobbler. We will definitely be returning.

Love this place and will be thinking about it on our next trip through town. Wow! What a vibe!…read more Things were picking up by the time we got there for lunch. We were greeted by a really nice blonde girl that showed us our seats. She was down to earth and was just beaming with great vibes. Then we got Matt. As if the experience wasn't already great from hanging out with friends, Matt invited us with an amount of aloha that is only found in Hawaii! We ordered chips and onion dip. The ramekin that the onion dip came with was really small compared to the amount of chips we received. It was delicious! Maybe substitute toasted bread next time? I ordered the poke and that was outstanding! It came with a creamy ginger dip that tied things together. For being landlocked and in the mountains, this is a dish I will remember! Matt also brought out a Hong Kong sriacha that definitely elevated everything. The reggae (music), positive vibes, and down to earth feel was a great way to end our trip before getting back to the grind. What a place! The scenery speaks for itself too and the staff is top notch!

Bird and Jim is spacious, with comfortable couches and table/chair dinning areas…read more We started our meals with arugula salad paired with chowder soup for appetizers. For entrees, we selected carnivore and sweet potato gnocchi. One major thing I liked about their dishes is the variety of vegetables within the soup and entrees. Carnivore had freshly sautéed broccoli, and Gnocchi had zucchini, onions, and cauliflowers. It makes the whole meal feel more healthy and balanced. We finished our meal with lady bird bread pudding. Overall the service was great and welcoming. Highly recommend! PS. They also offer to send out a postcard for you. I enjoyed writing the postcard in the restaurant!

All symptoms point to food poisoning. We will not be back. This was our first visit to You Need Pie. What we liked: Our waiter was really hospitable, friendly, and did his best to provide service in a timely way despite being the only server available for all the customers. The coffee was decent, though in a small mug, and so was the hot chocolate we orders for the kids (which came with whipped cream, much to their delight!). The decor on the walls felt kind of scanty but what is there was cute. There is a pretty wide pie selection. Food serving sizes were okay. The single person bathroom was clean. What we didn't like: *The $2 veg add-ins of onion and jalapeños to the $12 omelette were raw. *The corned beef hash was extremely basic and barely seasoned, the potatoes were well cooked but bland and pale. It was edible but not worth $15. *Our party ordered a $9 bread bowl soup and waffle fries as well; it was eaten but the cheese ingredient was really overpowering in flavor - the small size was a good thing, in this case, because otherwise it couldn't have been finished. *The batter on the chicken tenders in the kid's meal were almost burnt on the edges, but still pale everywhere else. Something off with the oil temperature I guess. They didn't get eaten. *The color of everything was pretty much all beige and served on white plates, which impacted the impression of the meal - zero visual appeal. One of my favorite parts of eating at mom-and-pop diners is the way the meals feel homey, warming you from the inside out. This did not create that kind of impression. Lastly, the pie (which was the main draw for us and why we picked this dining option). We ordered one slice of rhubarb at $6.25. The pie was very disappointing - something in it was either stale or had gone bad. It tasted really unpleasant and we ended up throwing it away. Our total for everything was about $80 with tip and it was sadly not money well spent. We love stand alone dining options but probably will not be returning.
