Stopped by The Varsity in Norcross and got the 2 chili dog combo. Overall, it was alright. The chili dogs were what you'd expect--nothing amazing, but decent if you're in the mood. Service was quick and the food came out hot, which I appreciated. Not a place I'd go out of my way for, but fine for a quick, meal.

Stopped here when I was nearby for a funeral. I was born in Atlanta and went to the downtown location as a child. It was one of the few things I would eat back then...always a burger and the orange frost. After moving away, whenever I was anywhere close, I would stop in. As an adult, my favorite is the chili hot dog. Still like the burger. This was the first time in this location. There was plenty of parking and the dining area was clean. It was not a busy time so no problem with service and received the food quickly. It was hot and fresh. The decor is similar to the other location but nicer as it is much newer. Love the famous " what ya have" on the window. I will return if I am ever in the area again.

Two naked dogs and a frosted orange!

I have always loved the varsity especially growing up in the city and being an ATLien. My favorite has been this meal here. Two naked dogs and a frosted orange (minus my onion rings which I totally forgot until just now lol. It's a staple and I was shocked to see it in Gwinnett but I gave it a try on one of my breaks. Absolutely amazing as I always remembered it to be. I cannot forget the welcoming smiles and faces ss I walked inside and was asked the famous "WHAT'LL YOU HAVEEEE?" I Stan the varsity! The place was clean, and well sized. Not too cluttered or compact and had an array of tables and tvs to dine and enjoy some entertainment as well. Now that I know where it is I'll be back for more! Thanks varsity!!

I tried The Varsity after many recommendations I've received. I really wanted to like this restaurant, however they have a lot of room for improvement. This specific location was easy to find. There is a drive thru or you can park and go inside to eat. I ordered the cheese burger, fries, and a hot dog. All of which were not good. The quality of the burger looked concerning to me. The fries were very soggy and did not seem fresh. I don't have much to say about the hot dog as I could not finish it. The service was okay as I just ordered in the drive thru.

Glorified burger

A friend and I came here for a late lunch after returning from the road. Although we've eaten at the downtown location many times growing up, we hadn't been to the Norcross location in quite some time the menu has changed, some yet the onion rings, and the hamburgers and hotdogs are as good as they ever were I think Mr. Gordy would be proud that the service is still fast and friendly and they still offer a quality product made available to the public. This has the backstory of the history of the varsity, (. https://thevarsity.com/pages/time-line ) but anyone who lived in Atlanta for sometime has probably eaten here once In the fast paced world of fast food, there are so many choices as Americans, I recommend this location if you're ever in Gwinnett county area. I had a glorified burger which was cooked very good and was juicy on your rings. Wow a little greasy were not over the top greasy and tasty as I remember. I didn't get a frosty orange as I opted for a Coke. ambiance of the varsity is very cool because it got retro feel of the old Atlanta varsity days with pictures on the wall which remember the times Atlanta grew so much. In conclusion, I think I will eat at the varsity every year In moderation.

If you're planning to visit any location of The Varsity, let it be this one. It is always quiet, empty, and clean! As someone who grew up near the Midtown location, Norcross is worth the drive. The food and service is just as good (if not better!) and you get to skip out on the utter chaos that is the tourist trap!

I'm not feeling it , i gave it a try because it's on the way from my daughters daycare so i decided to try it out . I heard about this place a few times but people talked about the food truck more , any who i went yesterday after getting my baby from daycare i stopped in by the drive thru to order an i only wanted a few things to try one was the BLT sandwich, chicken nuggets and fries which all were sold separately the BLT didn't have a combo Anywho the sandwich was toasted bread with a lot of lettuce two pieces of tomato and maybe 2-3 pieces of bacon. The fries i ordered on the side where so greasy and they never gave me the nuggets i asked for which i didn't see until i made it home oh well the only good thing was the sweet tea it was just right like i like it .

A fun old-school diner. Simple menu with good food! I loved the nostalgic feel of The Varsity! They have the old diner paper hats and round tables with umbrellas. Burgers and hotdogs!! Onion rings and French fries!! Peach & Apple Pies!! Orange Cream Shakes & chocolate Shakes!! Go try it!

The Varsity is always a staple for me when I visit Atlanta. This was the first time I've been to this location and it was nice, with plenty of space. Have to always get the onion rings here, my favorite. This time I got the slaw dog, very good.

BLT delite!

Good hot dogs. Service was not very friendly. Fries were below average. Would not go back.

The drive thru employee gave great service. Got my food and it smelled great. I couldn't wait to get home. It still hot. Took the first bite and I was somewhat disappointed. Now I can admit I had a cold before that affected my tastebuds. The chicken tasted little burned and a little tasteless. I had to let mister try it so I could be sure. He sad it did had a slight burn taste to it but it taste fine for him. Now, the empanadas is a whole other story. They was the bomb. The perfect amount of cheese and meat. Very good crust. My plantains wasn't sweet, but the beans and fries was good. Now, I will go back to get another meal.

I first went here to check it out when I started my first year of teaching at a school down the street about 6 minutes away. I rolled up, ordered their 20 pcs dark for $20 deal, got it in about 5 minutes from ordering, it was hot, crispy, and juicy- super fragrant and unbelievably delicious. The way I have introduced Pollo Campero to other people has been that you can literally eat the bones and not fully know that you're eating them. It's really that good. The fried chicken is to-die-for, but the grilled chicken is undeniably fantastic as well! The spice rub that they use (and clearly they marinate) is something else! I. LOVE. THEIR. CHICKEN. Now, the rest of their menu is kinda whatever, but the chicken is so good- I don't even need anything else! They used to serve the chicken with tortillas and their special sauce. These days you need to ask for that stuff and they charge extra for the sauce. The empanadas are somewhat dry. The Mac cheese tastes manufactured. The rice is rice. The refried beans are refried beans- if they could crack the code on the Popeyes recipe for the beans and rice they'd really be throwing me for a loop (wishful thinking). The drinks are either sodas or some fruit drinks- normal stuff...but they also have horchata (pretty good for a fast food joint)! I don't recommend anything but the chicken. The chicken is AMAZING. Go get you some, but before you so- go ahead and download the app so you can earn points. It's totally worth your time because you can easily order ahead and just pick-up- AND you're DEFINITELY going back. Want to try the chicken there? You can! They have parking and there's tables inside and outside to eat. I don't recommend eating outside because it's loud and right next to Jimmy Carter Blvd, but they have a decent seating situation inside for couples, families, and mid-larger groups. They offer free refills on all their drinks in-store and they play music (depends who's running the shift as to what the music choice is). I don't do chicken from anywhere except Popeye's or Pollo Campero. That has GOT to tell you SOMETHING. I've included some pictures of the app and I showed a video that lets you read their current special offers too. Definitely hit this place up! I promise it will be a place you go to more in the future- if not regularly!

Piri-piri chicken, garlic bread, and zero self-control. Nando's is already one of our go-to spots, so it didn't take much convincing. The vibe hits that perfect sweet spot between casual and "we're pretending this is a planned night out." And the food? Consistently elite. My husband went with his usual: the 2 1/4 legs, hot. A bold man with a questionable spice tolerance, but I respect the commitment. I ordered the chicken thigh skewers, medium, because I like to feel something without seeing my life flash before my eyes. Now let's talk about the real star of the show: the garlic bread. I don't know what they put in it, but I would trust it with my financial decisions. It's that good. He also got the fries (which, okay... a little skimpy this time, Nando's, we noticed ), and I switched things up with the corn on the cob, which absolutely held its own. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed even though we didn't know we needed it. We met up with my sister and her kids, who ordered after us, but honestly the best part of the night was just hanging out, talking, and letting the table slowly turn into a graveyard of sauce-covered plates and crumbs. Final verdict: Came for matcha. Left with full stomachs, zero regrets, and a renewed emotional attachment to garlic bread. Would accidentally end up here again 10/10.

This was my first time. Half of the group had been here before. First of all I like the set up. The decor is top tier. I liked the fact that you order at a counter or code on the phone. No waiting for a server. Everything is paid for up front. You still get the feel of a sit down restaurant. They bring your food to the table. The dinnerware is heavy and colorful. Very festive. I ordered 1/4 Chicken Breast in Manho Lime flavor and Brussels Sprouts. We also had Chicken Thighs, Chicken Wings, Portuguese Rice Fries, Cauliflower, Sweet Potatoes and Garlic Bread on the table as well. The flavors absolutely bloom in your mouth as all of their meat was marinated. There was not one dish that I didn't enjoy. I will most definitely return.

Which explains why most people go through the drive through and don't see the disgusting, dirty outdated inside. If the outside windows, splattered in year old bird droppings and outside dirt don't scare away the locals, then they must have really low standards. Maybe people are nostalgic for what it was 30 years ago, but today the rude staff, the improperly cleaned floors, kitchen area and tables are indicative of a true health hazard. One look at the fryer with dirty grease inside and splattered outside (probably hasn't been cleaned in three years) should be indicative of the need for a more up to date health inspection by Gwinnett County (which, when we were there gave it a "B") but based on the actual report pictured here should have earned a "D"! it appears to be a fire hazard, which would be doing it a favor if it did burn down....
