Stopped by The Varsity in Norcross and got the 2 chili dog combo. Overall, it was alright. The chili dogs were what you'd expect--nothing amazing, but decent if you're in the mood. Service was quick and the food came out hot, which I appreciated. Not a place I'd go out of my way for, but fine for a quick, meal.

Stopped here when I was nearby for a funeral. I was born in Atlanta and went to the downtown location as a child. It was one of the few things I would eat back then...always a burger and the orange frost. After moving away, whenever I was anywhere close, I would stop in. As an adult, my favorite is the chili hot dog. Still like the burger. This was the first time in this location. There was plenty of parking and the dining area was clean. It was not a busy time so no problem with service and received the food quickly. It was hot and fresh. The decor is similar to the other location but nicer as it is much newer. Love the famous " what ya have" on the window. I will return if I am ever in the area again.

I have always loved the varsity especially growing up in the city and being an ATLien. My favorite has been this meal here. Two naked dogs and a frosted orange (minus my onion rings which I totally forgot until just now lol. It's a staple and I was shocked to see it in Gwinnett but I gave it a try on one of my breaks. Absolutely amazing as I always remembered it to be. I cannot forget the welcoming smiles and faces ss I walked inside and was asked the famous "WHAT'LL YOU HAVEEEE?" I Stan the varsity! The place was clean, and well sized. Not too cluttered or compact and had an array of tables and tvs to dine and enjoy some entertainment as well. Now that I know where it is I'll be back for more! Thanks varsity!!

I tried The Varsity after many recommendations I've received. I really wanted to like this restaurant, however they have a lot of room for improvement. This specific location was easy to find. There is a drive thru or you can park and go inside to eat. I ordered the cheese burger, fries, and a hot dog. All of which were not good. The quality of the burger looked concerning to me. The fries were very soggy and did not seem fresh. I don't have much to say about the hot dog as I could not finish it. The service was okay as I just ordered in the drive thru.

A friend and I came here for a late lunch after returning from the road. Although we've eaten at the downtown location many times growing up, we hadn't been to the Norcross location in quite some time the menu has changed, some yet the onion rings, and the hamburgers and hotdogs are as good as they ever were I think Mr. Gordy would be proud that the service is still fast and friendly and they still offer a quality product made available to the public. This has the backstory of the history of the varsity, (. https://thevarsity.com/pages/time-line ) but anyone who lived in Atlanta for sometime has probably eaten here once In the fast paced world of fast food, there are so many choices as Americans, I recommend this location if you're ever in Gwinnett county area. I had a glorified burger which was cooked very good and was juicy on your rings. Wow a little greasy were not over the top greasy and tasty as I remember. I didn't get a frosty orange as I opted for a Coke. ambiance of the varsity is very cool because it got retro feel of the old Atlanta varsity days with pictures on the wall which remember the times Atlanta grew so much. In conclusion, I think I will eat at the varsity every year In moderation.

If you're planning to visit any location of The Varsity, let it be this one. It is always quiet, empty, and clean! As someone who grew up near the Midtown location, Norcross is worth the drive. The food and service is just as good (if not better!) and you get to skip out on the utter chaos that is the tourist trap!

I'm not feeling it , i gave it a try because it's on the way from my daughters daycare so i decided to try it out . I heard about this place a few times but people talked about the food truck more , any who i went yesterday after getting my baby from daycare i stopped in by the drive thru to order an i only wanted a few things to try one was the BLT sandwich, chicken nuggets and fries which all were sold separately the BLT didn't have a combo Anywho the sandwich was toasted bread with a lot of lettuce two pieces of tomato and maybe 2-3 pieces of bacon. The fries i ordered on the side where so greasy and they never gave me the nuggets i asked for which i didn't see until i made it home oh well the only good thing was the sweet tea it was just right like i like it .

A fun old-school diner. Simple menu with good food! I loved the nostalgic feel of The Varsity! They have the old diner paper hats and round tables with umbrellas. Burgers and hotdogs!! Onion rings and French fries!! Peach & Apple Pies!! Orange Cream Shakes & chocolate Shakes!! Go try it!

The Varsity is always a staple for me when I visit Atlanta. This was the first time I've been to this location and it was nice, with plenty of space. Have to always get the onion rings here, my favorite. This time I got the slaw dog, very good.

And for something sweet... the bread pudding? So moist, topped with ice cream and Oreos--it was giving indulgence in the best way. But what really sealed the night for me was the coffee pairing. It took the show and brought everything together beautifully. I also loved the range of the menu--there's something for every craving. At first there was a mix up with who was serving us do we got explained the drink menu twice. After our appetizer, we waited about 30-40 minutes for the rest of our items which took longer than we thought. They did give us some house made popcorn to keep us busy. Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!

I had gotten here around 4:30PM and went to the pool table, I had been waiting close to 15-20 minutes to be served. After waiting about 3 minutes at the bar, she approached me and rudely asked if I had been sitting by the pool tables. I replied and said "yes I'm sitting near the pool tables" and she responded rudely again and said she couldn't take my order and the server sitting in my section would take it. I had told her "okay, well I have been sitting here for a while waiting to be served and I wanted to order a drink" and she responded and said "well we didn't see you over there, go back to your table and I'll get your server" The server named Dom, took my order and I asked him for her name since he either saw/heard what happened. Bless his heart for trying to rectify the situation by bringing the food out quickly and being more pleasant. What makes the story worse, is that this bartender (after she yelled at me) went back to the pool tables where we were sitting to take away plates for another table she had already served and they were sitting one table over from us.
