Donamire Farm - Inside of the tent during the 41st annual Kentucky Bash... The night before #bbn football kickoff.

No words can describe it's beauty so I won't even make an attempt at it. I've been to a lot of farms and this is by far the most gorgeous. While attending the 41st annual Kentucky Bash held at the tent area on the farm, I learned that the owners of Donamire allow Cardinal Hill to host the event on their beautiful farm as their donation. That makes me want to contribute to the Ball family all over again. I don't know if they give tours or not, but if you ever get the opportunity to attend an event here, do it! I sure would love to learn more about this beautiful part of the Bluegrass!

I've been to Donamire Farms twice in my life, both for family reunions, and it's a beautiful setting for such, where thoroughbreds run along fenced rolling Kentucky countryside, and swans float gracefully over placid waters. Horse barns, with interiors kept far more pristine than my boys' bedroom, dot the landscape. A guest house set a couple acres off the main house also lines the circuitous road that travels through the grounds. It, too, is as opulent as the main, albeit a bit smaller, but larger than any place I've ever stayed. It is all a very pleasant backdrop to seeing those I don't see often, likely not often enough.

This venue is beautiful! We attended a wedding here last weekend and it was so lovely…read more There are two separate rooms so the ceremony was in one room and the dinner reception was in the other. The center area was used for congregation of guests prior to the ceremony and also for the cocktail hour. They gave the bride and her family ample time to set up and also gave them until Sunday afternoon to clean up, which was so nice because everyone was tired at the end of the reception on Saturday. It's a beautiful building near hotels and bars/restaurants so it was easy to walk over and walk back at the end of the night. The space is bright and well lit during the day. The ceilings are vaulted and are architecturally appealing. Restrooms are clean and centrally located which is important during a big function. It was an unplugged wedding so I don't have many pictures but Lexington brides and event planners should seriously consider this venue

The atrium is beautiful, with it's rotunda and skylight, and directly under it a glass panel inserted in the middle of the floor. The room in which the event was held was very industrial, with low metal beams crisscrossing above and drop lights. I'm looking forward to seeing the entire Courthouse when it is completely renovated.
