I called them begining of nov for an order update, and was told at that point 4-6 weeks, were nearing the end of those additional 6 weeks. Called them today before the review and was then inform 9-11 additional weeks. YIKES If yall dont have furniture in stock, why keep selling? Catch up with all the backorder cause this is ridiculous. I am NOT normally a person who leaves bashing reviews, I actually REALLY enjoy doting on GREAT service providers, servers etc. But this situation MUST be shared. I am 100% sure I am NOT the only person who has experienced this so I feel I have to speak up. 3 weeks ago, we stopped into Value City. We were looking for a new mattress. Ours is 8 years old and wasn't the highest end when we bought it so it was just time. We fully intended to pay for a new mattress and walk out as Value City was where we purchased the last one. We were told that because our mattress was purchased in 2013 that it was still under warranty and that if it had fallen (which it has more than 2 inches) that we needed to have an inspector come out. They scheduled the appointment (the closest they could get was more than a week away) and said that we would receive a call 2 days prior to confirm. We never received the call. My husband then called to ask and was told that we did NOT have an appointment that we were listed as living in FLEMINGSBURG (which we never have) and because their schedule was so tight we would have to reschedule. Another week's wait. They gave a date which was literally in the middle of us closing our home purchase. As luck would have it, the date which they were supposed to come again (again did not receive the 2 day call) but DID receive the 30 minute before call (I had called earlier in the day but apparently a 10 am open time means they don't turn their phones on until 10:15 or later...) and had to explain that it was physically impossible to be at our OLD house (where the mattress is) and NEW house where I had inspectors and installers there all day. So we had to reschedule ANOTHER week away. The inspector finally comes out, takes pictures, can see what crappy shape our mattress is in, and leaves saying they will be in touch Monday. Monday came with an unexpected funeral and we didn't hear from Value City and so we called around 7 pm to ask if we had a decision on a claim and after 25 minutes on the phone with the girl explaining that we had NOT purchased our mattress there. (which we did, and I found the receipt for it) that they wouldn't be able to make a warranty claim anyhow because our mattress had a stain on it. Hold the phone. You mean to tell me that 3 weeks ago someone could have said "Here are the standards for a claim... no stains, rips etc on the mattress, and must have fallen X inches... do you think you meet those requirements?" And we would have laughed and happily walked away laughing because no way. We have kids who eat in our bed. Of course it's stained. If you had told us that, we would not have bothered with trying to get a warranty claim and likely would have purchased a mattress that night, on sight. But to finally get this information in a snippy call/voicemail 3 weeks AFTER this headache started... ridiculous. We are honest human beings who would have definitely said "yeah no... LOL ... that won't work" and bought a new mattress ... case closed. We will not, however, EVER be frequenting Value City in Hamburg again. I am absolutely stunned at the level of disregard for my time, and the lack of customer services skills and general decorum of Value City. At this point... I will NEVER make a purchase with them again. Here we are 3 weeks and a new house later, still need a daggone new mattress and I am back at step one. I cannot imagine trusting a company who so blatantly disregards our time and is such a poor communicator. Poor product, backed by ridiculously unachievable guarantees and terrible customer service.
