While out looking for books and a neighboring shop, I decided to stop by Cost Plus World Market. I'd never visited this store before and wanted to see what items they offered. Upon entering, I was surprised to see that the shop had upscale home goods, novelty foods, and stylish furniture. I saw an amazing assortment of wicker baskets and a very unique wall chair display. I was impressed by the golden utensils and really thought about purchasing a set before talking myself out of them. This store has some pretty cool things, so I decided to take photos, too.

World Market is one of my favorite stores. I've been in sort of mourning since moving to Kentucky five years ago that there was no World Market nearby. THEN. I found out last month that World Market was opening in Lexington. Upon hearing that, I just had to come here as soon as I could. Fortunately, I had a doctor appointment in Lexington the day before they had their Grand Opening and was able to stop in to poke around and pick up a few goodies. It was such a delight to walk through these doors. This location is clean, spacious, and pleasing to walk around. World Market offers tiny shopping carts with seats for kids which was the perfect size for browsing with my toddler. And since it was around opening day, there were many people available to help me. I swooned over the macrame plant holders, the woven rugs and baskets, the international foods & treats, the simple and affordable kitchenware, coffee mugs, candles, the Christmas decor (unlike anywhere else), the nostalgic toys, the throw pillows, the quirky gifts, and more. It's kind of an eclectic store -- with a mix of international and fun. When it comes to gifts, you can probably find something for everyone here. They also have dining tables, chairs, couches, lamps, and other such furniture and decor for homes. Think mid-century modern. These are all a bit on the pricier side. (Not everything is in store - you can look online and get a better idea of these offerings.) If my entire home could be decorated with World Market, that would be amazing. We left with about $60 worth of gifts, marzipan, ornaments, and other trinkets for the holidays. I wasn't even planning to spend any money. Oops. I'll have to space out my visits so my credit cards don't rack up too much debt...

They are a little pricey here. But if you are looking for one of a kind, unique pieces, you've got to pay a visit. This is all the way in the back of Eastland Shopping Center. I'm guessing they must do a lot of internet sales. I've rarely seen other customers. But the owners are very friendly and it's worth a visit.

Fran the owner buys great modern clean lined furniture and a small amount of high quality used furniture. This shop has a small amount of all types of furniture. Anything and everything you are looking for your house is here. The place is huge and he is also expanding his show room in a few months. I can't wait to go in then. Fran also travels to Guatemala often and brings back a few hand made and woven items. They are very unique and a cool find to boot. Fran also offers delivery on items you buy which comes in handy. He even has delivered to Winchester for me. There are also a lot of local artist work displayed and for sale here. Fran said he loves to support local art as much as possible. If you are ever in the market for some furniture, decor, or art, I would suggest to give this place a chance. Stop in and take a look around. I am sure you will find exactly what you were looking for.

I love the style of this store with a mix of antiques and new items. The store contained many Lexington pictures such as maps of the city and horse pictures and signs. The style of the store was a hip rustic vibe and many new and beautiful rugs and furnishings. There was also bar ware and bourbon barrel heads and bourbon stave items. The place contained many cool tables, bars, shelving units and military pictures and tables. The owner Chad Tussey was helpful and gave me a card with the website. The website was well laid out with the items divided into categories: furniture, accessories, bourbon barrels, cover your walls, oriental rugs, lighting, stuff for your bar, Kentucky made soaps, candles, and food, architectural salvage, hats, shirts, socks, etc., grooming supplies, new relic finds, and sale items. I will be back and really enjoyed my visit.

This is a neat little place!…read more My daughter, granddaughter and I have been here twice in the last week. We shopped in the store. Buying candles, donuts, beef jerky, condiments and more. We also had their coffees/tea. My daughter really liked both the iced coffees she had. I thought the Chai was pretty good. We ordered sandwiches both times. The first time they were awesome. So much so that we went back a week later. This time they weren't as good. My daughter's sandwich this time was so terribly made she couldn't eat it and it started to make her nauseous. It was literally was drowning in mayonnaise. Which made the bottom bun dissolve. And there was mayo put in every single layer between toppings. The lunch meat this time was just packaged meat and had been laid on the sandwich with several pieces just folded over in a clump. No clue why it had been made so sloppily this time or why that much mayo would be put on any sandwich. It was inedible. She tossed it. The whole thing. I ordered the same sandwich both times. A Brisket sandwich. Same toppings as last time. The first time the sandwich was amazing. The brisket was juicy and flavorful. This time the brisket was so dry that the sandwich was difficult to chew. We'll be back and give them another try.
