It could be the diversity of the crowd. It could even be the food and drinks. I would not do this event any justice if I limit it to one thing that makes it great. The NOLI Night Market has a Brooklyn NY vibe without the huge high rise buildings. When I try to explain this event I'm compelled to use terms like: abstract, eclectic, artsy just to attempt to explain the vibe. Reminds me of Asheville NC because of all of the liberal arts school in the area. It may seems like I'm rambling but that's this event in a nut shell. So hard to put the vide into words or even explain it. When I'm ask about I just say you have to try it. That's all I can come up with. I purchase some really cool laser etched wine glasses here as well as some classic vinyl records. My daughter purchase some homemade soap from some very young entrepreneurs and some home made doggie treats. The scope is just that broad. The food trucks ranges from waffles to noodles. This was my first visit to the Night Market on Bryan Avenue, just off Limestone. It was a freezing…read morenight, but very cozy. This was one of the most authentic events, that I have ever been to within Lexington. It is a MUST VISIT for anyone that appreciates local arts/crafts for sale, food trucks, beer, cultural stuff, etc. They have about 50 authentic booths that sells local arts and crafts including jewelry, the prices are very reasonable and supports NoLi businesses (North Limestone). You can grab some awesome grub, drink (Think West 6th) and enjoy the atmosphere. I fortunately was able to take a tour of one of the Shotgun houses on York Avenue featuring art as well as art in work (building an artistic house) on North Limestone. People and vendors are extremely friendly. This is a wonderful place to spend a Friday night date. Night Market happens on the first Friday of each month, I am not sure if there will be a January NM, but I do know there will be one in December. Definitely a hidden gem that everyone should add to their bucket list of things to do in Lexington. They have indoor basket ball courts which can used to play volleyball occasionally. The place itself isn't bad but I have heard that the neighbourhood is bad. Many people have reported stolen things from their car. The restroom isn't clean either. So don't depend on that. It's good if you just come here , play your game (Volleyball or Basketball) and then leave. I am not aware of anything else that goes on where. By the way, we have volleyball going on regulary at Sundays from 1-4 pm if anybody wants to join. It is $5/time or ~$40 for an entire season which would be 3-4 months.

It was the day before my son started that we received notification that said director was resigning for "personal reasons." Take that as you will. As far as our personal experience, we did drop off and were able to take my infant son to his room (this is not the normal Covid policy: they wanted us to drop him at the door). When I walked in, there were two babies at the entrance of the room: one lying on the floor (not in a boppy or on a blanket, but on the floor), with an older child sitting up beside her, looking down over her, with snot running out both sides of his nose. I made a comment about the snot to both the director and the worker, the latter of whom was sitting across the room. It was the director that finally wiped the snot off as my husband and I looked horrified. We left, feeling like this was not a good fit for us, based on the the combination of abuse allegations and level of engagement (or lack thereof) of staff with the children. I returned at 1200 to pick up my son. I explained my concerns to the Asst. Director, who was apologetic, and waited for her to retrieve my son and his things. We were pulling him completely from the daycare. As I waited, the training she'd been completing on her laptop was still playing--and it was a recording, I believe, of a person talking to (I'm assuming) a group of Asst. Directors and Directors about "how to get more children in the door without having to hire more staff." This, I feel, sums up the mission of Kindercare. It showed in our experience. And my legal guardian was in the water with us and the lifeguard had said that she needed to be physically with us even though she was! She then accused us of lying when we said our legal guardian was in the water with us. She had red short hair, a sleeve of tattoos, had colorful crocs, and was wearing a black one piece bathing suit. So if you see her , make sure to report her immediately!!! By the way this happened on a wednesday. Thanks for your time and I do not recommend this place. Spend your money elsewhere and out of more high quality place. Also, before I get off i'd like to say the bathrooms were disgusting and there was mold. There was mold on the walkways in the gym and it smelled like sweat. I also witnessed a young child slip and fall on the wet inside floors. Not a single worker smiled back at us and they were talking crap about my leagal guardian and us. If I can give this place zero stars, I would , but that's not possible so I have to give it one star. All we wanted was a nice friendly trip experience to the water park , but we now have terrible memories just like the service...
