It was so good that I can confidently say it will forever change your expectations of a breakfast biscuit. It was also perfect for a brunch picnic. We picked ours up before heading out for a hike, and it gave us exactly the fuel we needed for a full day of adventures around Lexington. Everything was satisfying, filling, and delicious. I would definitely recommend Beau's Cafe to anyone visiting Lexington. It is the kind of place you will want to return to, especially before a day outdoors. The breakfast biscuit alone is worth the visit! Buttery and flakey, something you definitely don't want to miss.

Extremely friendly service from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. We were seated rather fast, but their seats can be uncomfortable. The inside is beautiful! So clean, so modern... wish they were bigger. The music can be a bit loud but nothing crazy. Plenty of parking space. My husband and I ordered the burrito and potatoes each... you'd think assembling a burrito doesn't take too long... well, it took about 50 min for our food. Side note, I thought the server said potatoES (you'd think chopped potato pieces)... well, it's not. It's more of a fried potato cake... it was too greasy for me to eat unfortunately so just a PSA as others have warned. And as soon as we took a bite, the server came and dropped off the check. I get that they were busy but we had just started eating. Overall, they were busy so I'll give them some grace. 8/10, I will try to be back soon.

We loved this adorable little biscuit breakfast spot!! :)…read more We spent a weekend away in Nashville but came back through Lexington to visit a couple of distilleries as we made our way back North. Nashville really turned us on to the biscuit breakfast so when we saw that Lexington had some choices we knew we had to try! We stopped into Biscuit Belly on a recent Wednesday morning on our way out of town and were greeted with the nicest staff, waiting to take our order. We had a few questions and the man at the register was super knowledgeable and extra kind!! When we stop into a new place, my husband and I enjoy ordering a couple of different options and sharing so we can both try more things in one visit! :) The biscuit belly choices made this difficult, so many items look amazing!! My husband ordered the Mama's boy and I ordered the Fire in your Belly! Both of the sandwiches were delicious! The Mama's boy had the most tasty jalapeño pimento cheese and the perfect accompaniment, a fried green tomato on top!! This was a great combo! The Fire in your belly felt like a more simple sandwich, with less on it, but the flavors went so well together, it ended up being our favorite!! The cheddar cheese really brought everything together so nicely!! Both also came with delicious pickles which doesn't sound like it fits into a breakfast entree, but it truly did!!! :) We enjoyed both the loaded tots and cheesy grits on the side! If you get a chance to stop into a Biscuit Belly sometime, I would definitely make your move!! ;) We don't have places like this up North and that's a sad, sad thing!!

My husband chose the hot brown which he can't stop talking about! According to him the sourdough toast was cooked to perfection. Not too dense but fluffy enough to be a sponge for the amazing moray sauce. They were generous with the meat and the over easy eggs were cooked to perfection. Topped with 2 well seasoned strips of bacon. For anyone who loves a traditional hot brown this is the place to be! I had the Giacomo which is corned beef hash with three eggs that I asked for over easy! Just a great dish. I loved how simple but delicious it was. Nothing too fancy just a scrumptious breakfast. I have to mention the grits though. They were soooo creamy and buttery and delicious! I could eat them as my whole meal! I will have to get this every time. We got the opportunity to speak with the owner who was very present serving dishes herself and checking in on customers! A very pleasant lady who gave us a funny story about the history of the location. You'll have to show up so she can tell you herself! I love the ambiance inside and the outdoor seating in spring and summer. Good place to bring the family. I'm thrilled there are still local places like this one in Lexington that really work hard to give its' best and work hard to keep their doors open in this economy now days. It's not easy as we all know. We need to support our local businesses and cheer them on like this little gem. Thanks, Tack House for hanging in there through thick and thin and still giving us delicious food and great service for so many years!

However, the avocado on top was brown (as shown in the photo). I just cut the bad part off and kept eating, but fresh avocado would've made a big difference. My girlfriend ordered the Strawberry Crêpes, and she really didn't enjoy them. She said the strawberries and sauce tasted freezer-burnt, and the crêpes themselves were doughy, flavorless, and not sweet at all. She felt like it was a waste of money. My friends ordered pancakes and liked them -- which is expected at a breakfast place. If a place can't make pancakes right, it wouldn't last long, but these were solid. Our server was okay -- not rude, just not attentive. He kept walking by without checking in, and we had to flag him down whenever we needed anything. The biggest issue was refills: we were extremely thirsty from working all day, finished our drinks early, and didn't get a refill until the very end when we were basically ready to leave. On the positive side, the restaurant was clean, and the food that was good was really good -- it just wasn't consistent. Overall, it wasn't the worst experience, but between the brown avocado, poor crêpes, and slow drink refills, it wasn't the best either. There's room for improvement, especially with attentiveness and food freshness.

I always get the Mega HO Burger, which is a 3/4 lb Triple Burger with all the dressings. All their burgers are made with fresh daily ground beef. My wife always got the special fried chicken sandwich, which comes with hanarneo cheese, jalapenos, lettuce, tommatoe and mayo. We either get the crinkle-cut fries or the tots as sides. In addition to being roomy and tidy, the interior had several vintage games. This place is excellent for both big and small parties (particularly after a late night). The service has always been friendly and timely. Overall the prices were a little too pricey for a place like this on a college student's budget but the food was delicious and the amounts were substantial. I would still suggest it and will probably come back. There is a rumor, however, that this place may be closing in the near future.
