Where do I begin, shipped 2 high end speakers worth about $400 used. I paid UPS store $167 for the profesional packing that they offered,shipping and insurance. Told them the insurance is for $400 worth of speakers. Speakers where poorly packed, they arrived damage, well it doesn't matter right I'm insured I'm Smart I put insurance well so I thought. I made the claim at the store and they just gave me the run around for 4 months yes 4 months. Excuses about manager,accounting problems, the owner is not here. There's 2 ladies at the store one of them is very nice and helpful the other I won't get into is just so sad they will hire someone with this kind of attitude to do customer service. After 4 months and no check I called ups directly and my check magically showed up, to my surprise is was for half of what I insured the speakers for. Here's what I think happened I ship all the time, i do understand things happen, ups pays within 3 to 5 weeks. I have a very bad feeling that this store never insured my speakers and they kept the money, the reason why I came to this conclusion is because I was told my claim was not approved. How can a claim not be approved if they packed them they shipped them? Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else or hopefully the owner reads this and retrains their staff. We just drove here to drop-off a package that was being shipped to Comcast. UPS Stores are paid by Comcast to box and ship equipment. For customers, this is supposed to be a quick and easy drop-off. Instead, I was told "the system is down. Print the label, bring it back, and we'll ship it." Then I asked if this was an issue with all UPS Stores. She said it is! I called another UPS Store, they're letting us do the simple drop-off... moral of the story: The person running this UPS Store didn't know how to do their job. read more

The thin woman with reddish-brown hair is the most condescending person I have ever encountered. She has zero patience, zero customer service skills, and zero emotional intelligence. Highlights of my time waiting in line: 1. She told a man who looked of Indian descent who was trying to mail out visa paperwork "Oh yeah, I deal with these people all the time... I know what this is for- you're trying to go back to your country." ...He promptly corrected her that this was his country, but yikes! She then kept talking over him with a patronizing tone when he was asking her pretty reasonable (and not stupid!) questions. 2. An old man in a walker had never used a credit card chip reader before. She was SO RUDE saying things like, "Put the card in the hole, just like every other store in the world has been doing for years." He looked confused, and she then repeats, "Like I just told you sir, this machine is just like every other machine in the country. You should know how to do this." So, he tried again but pulled his card out too fast. That resulted in more condescending and patronizing comments from the employee. Luckily, another customer in line stepped in to help show the man what to do. 3. Someone asked if they sold cards or something. She immediately said with a very condescending tone "We ship things here" and walked away. 4. She called me sweetheart with a real unpleasant tone multiple times. This woman's incessant need to be unkind and prove her intelligence over others is losing this location business. I sure won't be back. read more

Darlene and Alphonso (sp?) were incredibly helpful today and both went above and beyond. My teenage son was shipping something and we needed help packing everything up on a busy day at the store. Both of them managed to help us while helping everyone else coming in. Moments after getting home we realized that he was getting scammed through Facebook Marketplace. We went back to the store just as the UPS truck was about to pull away. Darlene and Alphonso went into the UPS truck, found our package, and returned it to us. We are very appreciative. I've seen some of the other reviews on here, people will generally only post negative experiences apparently but I had one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had here. read more

AMAZING customer service!! I went in with a box that had a pre-paid UPS label, so they basically are just attaching the label for me and handing it off to the nice guy in the big brown truck. However, the guy at the counter (with the 6 older sisters, which I learned in our conversation) was SO NICE and just made me laugh. Service is where its at; stores either have it or they don't, and the UPS Store has a great employee with this guy! My receipt was a label which he applied onto one of their flyers with coupons for photocopying, a discount on mailbox rental and something else. A smart way to build repeat business!! read more

I recently visited the UPS store on Main St Marketplace, in Walpole. Like most places of business, there is a staffing shortage. There was 1 person working that day. The line was continuous in front of me and back of me. It must be challenging to face this day after day- the only one to answer the phone and wait on customers. As one knows-customers are not always pleasant. When it was my turn at the counter the person who waited on me was Natalie. I went in to send a pre paid package, they wanted to charge me .79 cents for a regular envelope and another $1.00 to tape the label on. I fed ex things often and have never been charged$1.00 to have one small peice of tape put on an envelope. I will not be returning to this ups store or ups. Also waited 12 minutes to have the pleasure to pay for this service because the computer wasn't working for a direct TV return in front of me. I have lived in 2 different continents, seen the world and different cultures. Never in my life experienced such rude service as in this UPS store. Ive visited this store 3 times. It wasn't just a one time, somebody had a bad day sort of an thing, but trying to make a customer feel like an idiot who's asking unnecessary questions, storming away with the package, charging $2 for 5 inches of tape to close the box etc.etc. The employees attitude is consistent. They try to make you send everything the most expensive way. First time, trying to ship a smaller package to nearby state 2 hours drive away. they told me have to basically buy a "plane ticket" to my package to get it there within 48 hours. Walpole Post office got the package there next day before noon, ground shipping and fraction of the price. A larger box, that the very rude lady told me would cost $140 to ship 3 hour drive away, cost me 39 dollars at Fedex & got delivered within 24 hours. She was famous of her insanely rude behavior at the Fedex office. people working there had had many customers coming from Walpole UPS store with similar experiences. No one was in the front of the store when I arrived. when the extremely unpleasant woman finally emerged, she acted like I was bothering her from the get-go. I have been a customer of this store for 6 years and have had only good experiences. I am always greeted with a cheerful smile whether I am shipping parcels or picking parcels up. Even when it is obvious that the staff is having a crazy busy day, they make an effort to show appreciation for my business. I was recently away on a business trip and was expecting a package for a special occasion. Natalie called me to let me know my parcel had arrived and even offered to open the store after hours so I could claim my package. Fortunately, I did not need to take her up on her offer but it sure was great knowing that I could have if I had needed to. I am laid up due to a surgery. This will be my 1st poor review for Yelp. I went to the local UPS store to purchase packaging to send a large amount of record albums down south. I was honest with woman in telling her that I would be taking it to the P.O. to send since they have 1/2 price media mail. She pointed out that that would sit take a long time and sit. I said that that was a concern due to not wanting them to melt. She said that they could get it there faster, at least let give me a quote. She gave me a quote on 2 day shipping based on a 40 lb box of my size. It was $38.00 I brought the very heavy package (for me) back a couple of days later to send. I struggled to get it on the counter. Another costumer helped me. She then joked that it was only 58 lbs. Thanks for criticizing me, you could have assisted if you are so brawny. The box was my responsibility though. What will make me never go back in that store is when she told me when the package would get there 1 week later for $47! I said for 1 week for 2 day shipping! She said 2 day shipping would cost $190! I said "that's not what you told me the other day. You told me that 40 lbs would be $38.00 on 2 day." The woman said "No, I never said that. You must have asked me about 2 day shipping." She was the one trying to sell me shipping in the 1st place. I was only there to buy packaging. She came up with a few reasons of how I must of brought it up and misunderstood. I even had to trouble shoot. She said you take it home and bring back next week so that it doesn't sit in a warehouse all weekend. I was not about to get that box back in my car. I suggested I pay now and let it sit until Tuesday to be sent out since the store is air conditioned. It's fine to make a mistake. Own up to it and apologize. This woman's attitude was like night and day on the different days. I'll stick with the USPS. read more

Excellent customer service. Helped by Carly. The store is not for you if you require free supplies to ship your packages. Either arrive packed up appropriately, or understand there are fees for packaging and containers. UPS "arrive by" guarantees in general are decent - at Christmas - too steep for me when shipping costs more than the item. That said, I have only once ever collected my shipping fee reimbursement for a major delay. Pay attention to the form you sign - if you sign off on a shipping address entered incorrectly by mistake, it will be sent based on YOUR signature of consent. All-in-all - a no-frills, useful business. Made better by kind, helpful customer service. Carly is a pro at customer service. read more

Frankly I would give the Main St, Walpole location zero stars. The woman referenced in the other reviews is rude and sarcastic to any questions you might have. The note taped to the counter which tells you not to use the store space "to seal and tape your own packages..." says a lot about the service and courtesy of the location. I would not recommend sending anything through this store. Spent nearly $70 sending 3 packages. All 3 were broken during transit. 2 were accepted by the recipients and the other never left the UPS hub in Chipley Fl. I was told by the employee at the UPS store that it was rejected by the recipient which is untrue since it never made it to the recipient. It was sent back to his store and he then told me I could pay to have it sent again. At first he told me since the recipient rejected it we had to pay again but it never was rejected since it wasn't delivered. He then said even if it was sent one town over and sent back we would have to pay again. I don't understand why I have to pay again for something that wasn't rejected by us or the recipient. Because of convenience, I enjoy going to the Post Office, since there is at least one in every town, and two in my town. Yet, there is a company where I ordered something from and needed to send back. They sent me a label for UPS, which I needed to drop off at a UPS store. Years ago, I visited the Norwood UPS Store often, which is now closed, so I needed to find a new one. The Walpole location was about as close as the one in Needham, so I drove the 10 minutes down Main Street to the 1A Marketplace to the UPS Store. The employees here are always so nice, generous, and friendly. Additionally, they are always efficient and knowledgeable. I have been back multiple times, and they have all been just the same as the first..... Incredible! Great stop for shipping packages in the area. 5 stars. read more

This UPS location does nothing but under deliver every time I'm there. You always have to wait for someone to come from out back, you never can be too sure how many minutes you'll be waiting. The communication from most of the associates is very limited, they always seem so annoyed that they have a customer. I was instructed by a business that rented a "mail box" and a "suite" address to deliver an envelope to this address. When I arrived I asked if I could just drop the envelope, but was told by the young man working there that he could not accept it. I was given two options, bring it to the post office and mail it to this UPS store or I could ship it to this store after paying UPS the shipping fee. I was quite taken aback and very much disappointed that the clerk could not be bothered to help me out. He said it was a rule that he couldn't accept the envelope without it being "shipped" (from in front of the counter to behind the counter?) or mailed through US mail. No solution was offered. If he needed me to pay something like a shipping fee he never told me that, just let me walk out the door with the package that I had tried to deliver to his "mail box" customer. My client would have paid the fee, so it really mattered little to me, but no solution or instruction was offered by the young man behind the counter! The envelope held time sensitive legal documents. So, I went to the local post office and mailed the envelope to this UPS store. The clerk could not help me pay the "fee" to this store. That was certainly not helpful to he store nor to its customer. Probably one of the worst cases of customer service I have ever experienced! So bad that I will not only never deal with UPS again (at least one of these "stores"), but I probably won't work with their customer either (after all, it is at least somewhat dishonest to pretend one has an office complete with a street address and all, when the "office" can't even accept a hand delivery). If this business person wanted to appear more professional by having a suite address, well the opposite was the result. Don't let these people become your face to your potential customers! read more

I went in this place to drop off a package to return. I brought my own tape and wrapped up the package after boxing it accordingly. I ran out of tape and asked the woman at the front desk, Carly, if I could have a piece of tape to affix the label. This woman had a nasty attitude, said you can buy a roll for $5 . Carly had the tape in her hand wrapping other packages and refused to give me a piece of tape and continued to mock me saying, you can buy a roll, Stu my boss sets the rules, I enforce them. I let Carly know that she had a nasty attitude and was surprised that she even worked there, she barraged me with a bunch of swears and insults and told me to go F myself. I left the store and let this person that I would never go back there and would warn others, as I did on the way out. She continued being unruly yelling and swearing at me as I exited. I have never dealt with a more vile person than Carly...I cant believe that UPS has their name on this store, they should be closed immediately and maybe Carly and Stu will find themselves out of work, like they should be. It boggles my mind how they can even be in business. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau as well as the town of Walpole Business Bureau to let them know how much of an eye sore this place is in the community. read more

The woman working here was clearly frustrated the the line of customers. I typically find the UPS carriers to be extremely friendly and personable. This was not the case with this employee. No one in line was agitated, but she sure was that she had to help everyone. Like others mentioned, it's absolutely silly that they charge for taping a package label. I probably would have been a little more open to the charge if the employee was friendly or welcoming, but it just seemed like a message that they really don't want business. The woman manager of this store has a very rude and miserable tone to her voice. I had made a mistake on sending back a package, She then reread the directions in a very rude way, after she was done rereading the directions, she insulted me and my girlfriend for a small mistake. While walking out of the store a couple were behind me waiting in line, she then stated "see you should have done it like these people here, they took the time to READ the directions". When I went back I left the redone packages on the desk, (with a pissy look). She then shook her head and told me again that I should have just read the directions (basically starting an argument). I left in rage and after my girlfriend's Mom found out, she went down to talk to this manager. When my girlfriend's Mom got back, she was just as angry as I was, my girlfriends mom was given harsh attitude as well. This UPS Manager needs a serious change of attitude. read more

Don't use this store! There's zero accountability and you are not guaranteed of your package getting to where it needs to go. Attempted to send a package to my daughter at college containing gifts to celebrate her 21st birthday. Paid extra to ship it 2nd Day Air. Now, five days later and the package was lost. Awesome for a company that touts its amazing logistics capabilities. To add insult to injury, when you call the UPS 1(800) number, UPS Corporate requires you to work through the UPS Store. When I contacted the UPS Store yesterday, a woman told me a Manager would get back to me today. I never heard back and called myself today. The "manager" took no responsibility for why I didn't get called back and had nothing to offer other than "opening up an investigation". Poor service, no accountability! I had a terrible experience the other day there.. They have like an 18 year old working the counter and he couldn't have helped me any less than he did.. There were no other customers in that store and I had 5 big boxes on a cart I was struggling to get into the door on a cart, but the kid working the counter just stares at me.. He wouldn't even come and hold the door open for me!! So rude! Than, as he weighed my boxes he would just drop them on the floor so carelessly! I had ceramic in them! Attention people: this place is specialized in sending your package to the wrong address and take no responsibility for that!! If you sign a PSO (Parcel Shipping Order) form make sure the address is the correct one, as they may type anything and send it anywhere and you will still be responsible for their mistake!! I recently returned a package (i-phone) thru this store and they put the incorrect address when created the new label. I paid $27 to insure the declared value of the i-phone and signed the paperwork that was presented to me. Obviously, the package went to the wrong address and got lost. When I followed up about finding the package or getting reimbursed for the lost package, the staff of the office and more specifically the owner of the store, Stuart SIlbert, requested my credit card to pay for tracking down the package!! So, I the customer should pay for a mistake made from the UPS employee!! The sad part is they know perfectly how to cover their dirty b..., as on the PSO form it says with lower case letters that you are responsible for making sure that the address on the package is the correct one. However, no one tells or guides you in regards to the content of what you are signing for. So people, make sure you read the paperwork that you sign, as UPS has no intention to take any responsibility on delivering your package. UPS's focus is to take your money and ship the package somewhere- anywhere, regardless if it is correct or not. I contacted the corporate office, but it seems no one has the willingness to help the customer. I would have lost my $750 I paid for my i-phone if it wasn't for Amazon. So, long-live Amazon!! I arrived at the store at 6:20 when the store is supposed to close at 6:30. I realize that is cutting it close, but it was apparent that the person running this store had already been closed for another 10 minutes as the doors were locked and the security gates were all up inside the store. I'm pretty sure I was actually dealing with the owner of that establishment, he was rude,and disrespectful and and clearly overwhelmed with the amount of packages that he had in his store, usually I deal with one of two ladies that work there, one is a delight to deal with! Professional and courteous, she is the younger of the two the older woman is also rude an unprofessional! Not surprised must have been trained by the owner, I usually have two to five packages shipped out of there each week, being a small business owner, this location is ideal for my company,this particular instance I had to deal with the owner, who said he would not accept my packages any more, not because there were too many packages!, not because they were too heavy! He just said rudely "you must take them somewhere else just not here any more!" When I asked why he said "because I said so"When I asked about the sign above his head that read "we support small businesses" he said he didn't care what the sign says! he can service whoever he chooses! "It's a private business!" I felt completely disgusted and discriminated against! I have an account with UPS so I print my own labels, (small business owner,trying to save money), he makes no money from me, but he charges his other customers 4x the rate I pay,I know, because I've overheard them charging other people while waiting in the store! Some people have no idea they are being robbed to send their packages Needless to say I will never darken their doorstep again and suggest that everyone else stay away! The owner of this store is a jerk. Do not go in when it might be busy because he told me that "he didn't have time to deal with this" when I tried to ship a small package to florida. When I asked to speak to his supervisor he said "I am the supervisor, too bad"....called corporate to complain and was told because he owns the store there was nothing they could do other than log the complaint. Today I had the choice of going to the UPS Store or my local Post Office to mail my package. I chose the UPS Store specifically because I had not taped my box... I couldn't find my shipping tape. In my mind, the UPS Store was more of a convenience - focused type place and the Post Office, while they probably would have taped up the box, I was sensitive to the fact it's probably not part of their normal services. So I went for the UPS Store. I was quite surprised and a bit dismayed at the fact the UPS Store wanted to charge me a dollar to tape up my box for me. In the past I have really appreciated the conveniences of the UPS Store... making copies and using a stapler or paper clip, using the pens there, they have always made it so easy. I have always paid for the copies I made but there were times I spent a fair amount of time there copying, stapling, taping, etc. They catered to those of that work from home and / or do volunteer work, and don't have access to a fully equipped office environment. That's what I had in my head anyway. By charging a nominal fee for taping up a box, the UPS Store is starting to stray from the customer-service orientation I believe they have built up. The sign said something along the lines of 'due to heavy volume of people coming in without their boxes being prepared in advance... here's the fee.... In the future get the taping and packing done ahead of time that way when you come it, it's ready to go'. In other words, what I heard is, 'the heavy volume of people coming in here needing our help and access to office supplies is getting out of hand so we're asking that you become more self-sufficient and please just come in and drop off boxes without needing anything'. If the cost of packing tape makes it cost prohibitive in allowing customers to use your tape, then increase the overhead based up-charges on things overall. I believe the cost of my making copies very likely has an up-charge based on the fact you have staplers and staples out for people to use. Pens, too. I get that, it's accepted. You could do that to avoid the message in regards to customer service, that I heard today. read more

Went in to ship something with a prepaid label, I usually always pack my prepaid parcels tightly and safely. This time it was a rush, so I brought the item and label to the store, assuming they provided UPS branded envelopes, much like the post office does. The woman there was terribly rude when I enquired, telling me that "those are for customers, and you are not a customer". I should have walked right out and not come back. It was an urgent situation, so I sucked it up and bought the plain manila envelope they were peddling, and packed my stuff up, with the only option for tape being a $13 roll of packing tape, I just clasped it shut and hoped for the best. She put two strips of tape on the label and called it a day. I have been in before (for prepaid drop-offs - aka "not a customer" drop-offs and for PAID shipping) and this woman is always there. Previously she has been nice. Must've caught her on a bad day. Or maybe people have come in in the past and screwed them out of envelopes ?? I'm not sure, but to be treated like I was trying to scam them for just asking for a UPS branded envelope and being told I am "Not a customer" sure did sour my experience with this store. Sticking to USPS. Otherwise, I will make the trek to a different UPS store, definitely worth a little bit of a drive to not be treated like dirt. read more
