There are several others in the area that provide really good service, better hours and have MUCH EASIER parking .This store provides truly terrible customer service. We have had this box for a few years... access/ parking was horrible. They seem to go though employees like water... The owner is a stressed out, rude young man... When my husband and I finally gave up and came in to close our box... he said to my husband, "he didn't care if this 80 year man closed his box or not" (btw my husband is only 70... :-)... truly bizarre behaviour... It was an unbelievable exchange. I've never seen anything like it. I was flabbergasted by the amount of one star reviews for this place, but then looked further and every UPS store in the area has 2-3 star average reviews so maybe it just comes with the job. Me personally, I haven't had any issues. My mom and I used to have a box here so we came and got mail a lot, and I also sell online so I send some things out too. They even take my USPS mail unless it's oversized. The employees have always been kind to my mother and I and even remember our names. They've also offered to help us bring out packages when there's no other customers which they don't have to do. I feel bad I don't remember their names! I'm horrible with names. I put in an order online to print a really long document (270 pages). When I called after the print job was due, someone explained to me that they never received it, and there's nothing they could do now to print it off. I emailed the store with a copy of my order confirmation that said the online order was sent to their store to see if someone else could resolve it, and the same customer service representative called me back and repeated what she'd said before. When I asked how I could get a refund, she said to contact UPS. When I asked for the number for UPS, she said that I could find it myself. The store called me to come in to file a claim, the next day the clerk was rude and he was frustrated because he didn't k ow what to do and how to help me. I'm asking him to help me problem solve my lost package. He said I had an attitude and he wasn't going to put up with it. I was confused because I didn't intend that. I was frustrated but not with him. So I thought he misunderstood and I will apologize that he felt that way. He didn't not accept my apology and chose not to service me and not help me for the problem the store caused. He said respond and said "we are all adults ". Uhm what? Didn't I apologize because he felt sensitive and overwhelmed. I don't know his story but if he has issues, he needs to leave it at home. I'm very torn in this review. The one guy at the front (I believe his name was nick) was extremely nice. He was dealing with a large number of customers by himself and he did it as fast as he could while still doing it well and with a positive attitude. But then I had to come back the same day about 10 minutes later, and the woman (who I believe might be an owner) came in and logged in and was extremely rude. She was short with people and just looked like we were the problem for being there. She told me she couldn't process my return because it wasn't in a bag. (It was in a bag) and Amazon doesn't require bags for returns. I've been pleasantly surprised the last several of visits. Instead of the older woman who always seems to be having a loud personal conversation her phone the whole time you're there, I've been helped by a young man and two young women. They all have greeted me when I enter the shop, been vocal about, "I'll be right with you," and helped promptly. One of the young women was even on the phone with their IT because she opened the store that day and one of their Point of Sale (POS) registers went down. She was calm and collected and superbly managed my transaction while simultaneously relating her issue to the support guy on the phone. It's getting SO much better here! This Asian owned store with Mom and son working there is GREAT. I really appreciate how nice they are to me (I rent a mail box) and how they always have all of my packages quickly. Sometimes I get 5-7 packages and some are heavy and they take care of my stuff and never complain. Some times during the year they get really busy and some people are super rude to them. They are always nice back. The owner has a pretty strong accent but she understands everything you say and can communicate well. Sometimes I think people treat her poorly due to her accent and it angers me. She's there pretty much all day everyday doing a great job. Plus, her son is so hard working and kind. I had a package shipped here that the male Asian clerk taped closed as I watched him. My package reached its destination on time without all of its contents. The bottom of the box was cut open and retapped closed. Same day the package was delivered I returned to this UPS and as I started to tell the female Asian clerk about my package being tampered with the Asian guy who processed the order came running from the back attempting to take over the conversation that I was having with his mom. I 100% believe he was the one that stole the valuable contents from the package. I asked to file a complaint and thus far I've heard nothing back from UPS. He saw the contents of my package & tampered with it by cutting open the previous amazon tape and stole the contents then shipped it out. When he heard my distinctive voice and the words tampered package he came urgently left his break to interfere with the info I was communicating with his mom. It was too evident. Totally rip off, but I was ill, under medication, and out of it. So he got away with it. Called two days later, but manager said there was no record of it in their "Notary" log. Right. I was moving out of Washington and needed to ship a 7 foot standing desk. I paid over 300 for shipping and packaging only to receive the desk with all four corners smashed in and all the wood had been split, and there were two very large gashes in the front that were about an inch deep. I sent the package to the UPS claims department which evaluated the packaging as insufficient. The entire time the UPS store kept calling me telling me I needed to come in to the store in person to pick up my desk as it was sent back to them. I tried explaining multiple times that I could not as I no longer lived in Washington. Then the claim check was sent to the UPS store and when they called to tell me I told them they would need to send me the check to which they said I still needed to come in to the store in person to pick up the desk and then they would give me the check. I had to call about 8 different UPS numbers including two different UPS corporate numbers trying to find a solution until I came across an email customerrelations@upsstore.com. Eventually they sent me a check after fighting with them for about a month. They also had become informal over the phone and started hanging up on me and at one point the owner of the store told me "not my problem" and hung up. This store is completely incompetent and not worth going to. Since these stores are franchises you will have to deal with that store if anything happens to your package. I would recommend either going to the UPS store near 6th ave or just staying away from UPS completely. Their numbers will direct you to the same automated menu that will send you to the same departments. This took over a month to get resolved and clearly landed outside of their guidelines as the desk should have either been returned to me or left at facility near my new residence. Also since I was moving I put my new address as both the shipping and return address so if they want to say that it needed to be returned to shipper, it still should have come back to me. Avoid this store unless you are sending something small and its only going a few blocks, and then at that point, just drive it there yourself. read more

I've been using this UPS store for a number of years and can't say enough about them. Always fast and friendly service, usually 2 and even 3 folks on the counter - makes it very easy to get in and out. Jonathan and James are always welcoming and friendly - so not like the "Post Office" LOL! I also have a mail box here - the annual price is comparable to anywhere else, and they accept deliveries from any carrier which is nice. And you also get a key to the front door so you can get to your mail box on Sundays or after hours - another nice touch. They do offer minimal copy and print services - nothing too advanced of course, but if you just need some copies or print off a batch of color documents, the convenience is much better than having to stand in line a Kinkos. Nice remodel job recently as well - looks really nice inside. I totally recommend this UPS store for shipping, mail boxes and basic printing services. read more

The person working here was not wearing a mask after mandatory mask policy was set by Governor. A "medical condition" shouldn't prevent the employee from wearing a face shield. Also, there were customers (2) inside without a mask without being asked to wear one. This store's disregard for public health has lost my regular business. They should follow the excellent example set by Mud Bay next door to them in how to keep the public safe while continuing to do business. SHAME ON UPS STORE LAKEWOOD and OWNER of The UPS Store PLEASE I IMPLORE YOU DO NOT USE TO SEND ANYTHING EVER!! I wish I could give negative stars, this one star is unjust! And their excuses are hideous, they blame UPS for the damage(Are they not part of UPS?) Just saying!! They promise a services and did not deliver. Not only did they not deliver they damaged my package and only RETURNED 1/2 of my property 2 days later than it was supposed to be delivered! I paid almost $58.00 for an important document to be notarized and overnight-ed from Tacoma to LasVegas, this particular document was so important and life altering if not received! Upon getting my damaged documents back they only had 4 pages torn in 1/2 and the bottom half at that, the rest of the documents were gone! They didn't even TRY to rectify the situation, no management only 3 employees who didn't know a thing about customer service! The did offer a phone number posted on the wall to call for complaints(which they never answer) and to top it off they charged me again to re-notarize and fax a second set of the document to the company in which it was intended to receive it two days prior. I attempted to mail three packages from the UPS store in Green Firs shopping center in University Place, and received the worst customer service! The woman working at this location was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I had three pre-printed UPS labels for packages I needed to return from an online purchase, and each label had a separate tracking number. The woman told me that she would NOT process the shipments using three labels and told me that I needed to call the company and get just one label with one tracking number. When I questioned this, she raised her voice and beginning slamming her hands down on the package. I asked if there was someone else I could speak to, and she claimed no one else was there and that she was the owner! I will NEVER again bring my business to the store in University Place. I left and promptly called another UPS store in Lakewood. I asked if they would be able to process my shipments and was told yes, absolutely. When I arrived at the Lakewood store, the two individuals working there friendly and helpful, even helping me carry in all three of my large boxes in the pouring rain. They were apologetic and seemed perplexed as to why the other location wouldn't process my order. Yeah, me too! My family has been through the ringer with this UPS store. The staff have been incredibly unhelpful, and they have recently refused to send my brother a claim payment, saying he has to come back to the state to pick it up, even though he used the shipping services because he was moving out of state. The item we shipped was badly damaged, and the process to resolve the issue has taken a month at this point even though we insured the item. In the various times we've been on the phone with this store, they have hung up on us on multiple occasions. And the broader UPS organization has been a total run around; I think we've spent upwards of 5 hours on the phone trying to get a resolution.
