The employees at every UPS are not very friendly and their main goal is to up charge, no sympathy or nothing given except attitude. For example, I had a prepaid return I printed and had everything boxed up. They were trying to charge me to tape it on the box but they have sleeves that the return label can fit in and sticks to box. Instead he tells me he won't take ten like that and I need to pay to have them use 1, maybe 2 little pieces of tape. I had my own, but they are so rude how they address you, especially if you look under 30. Just rude, bad employees with horrible rules and procedures. I've used this store frequently for years. I look forward to using them for shipping gifts, returns, books, etc. I expect to have a good experience each time because I have in the past and I always do. As I read the reviews it's as if they are for two different stores! I recently was told 3 returns to same clothing vender had to go in separate boxes with their separate return labels. The employee at this store explained it and turns out they are correct. Rules had changed. I did experience recently in Pennsylvania that when I had to buy tape at a UPS store it had 2 pieces of tape in the package and the charge was $3.00. That is my only comparison. I have NEVER been treated so rudely by ANYONE!! I have a disability, and the owner, Linda (who, from these reviews seems to behave this way quite a bit) , was condescending and rude ... I have a service animal & she said that I needed to wear a sign around my neck stating my disability .... No need for me to explain further as all of these reviews have already done so!! I was humiliated in front of a store full of people, but after reading these reviews it is obvious that I am not the one who should be ashamed ... Awful. Just awful. I was going to pack my own box when I walked into the Utica location. However, the clerk suggested that the store pack my items to ensure the package arrived safely. She assured me that it was going to be boxed up and shipped the following day. Well as you can guess - that didn't happen. In fact it took three phone calls before the box was finally shipped almost a week later. When it finally arrived, my items were boxed separately and then boxed again in a larger box! I can't complain about any breakage - but really? Cost me twice as much, with twice the amount of time, and ten times the effort. Each time I called, the clerks were either confused about my items, suggested I must have gone to a different location, or assured me the box was getting wrapped up soon. Brought in two document packages individually bundled, labeled, and ready to be scanned in for shipment. No greeting whatsoever. There were no other clients in the store. Short, elderly woman behind the counter with frost-tipped hair & brown eyes glared my direction. No verbal greeting. Toxic attitude. She refused to assist with receipt of packages as if it was beneath her station in life & pointed to the other clerk to assist me. So, waited for other clerk. Unfortunately, the other clerk was tied up for several minutes. . . . The short elderly woman finally relented and said she'd assist me (apparently quite reluctantly). I explained that as a business owner I would need separate receipts for each package being shipped. She said, "Okay." She then proceeded to scan BOTH packages in TOGETHER and printed ONE receipt. I said: "I do need separate receipts for each package please." . . . The short elderly woman snapped and said: "Here's your one receipt. Take it. I'm not going to print out two receipts." Well, so the long and the short of it is . . . I have been a regular customer of this UPS Store for over 15 years. We rent a box for packages and we also ship packages through them. During all this time, I have had no significant issues with the store and the employees. No packages lost or stolen. No closing up early. Friendly and helpful service. I feel fortunate to be a customer. Linda is a smart, strong, professional businessperson who takes care of her customers. She doesn't put up with a lot of nonsense, and perhaps some people feel put off by that. I have had multiple bad experiences at this UPS store. Just to clarify, this is the UPS store at 1611 S. Utica Ave. in Tulsa. Several times the employees have been rude, treated me disrespectfully, told me they can't help me, etc. Well today, I figured out why. I arrived about 10 minutes before the store closed, and, I was treated extremely rudely by an employee of the store. As I opened the door, she pulled the door from me, and even though they were not closed, she refused to let me in the store. THEN she allowed someone behind me get in front of me and she helped them. She continued to refuse to let me in and told me they were closed. Unbelievable! When I asked her name, she told me she was the store manager and owner. So clearly the other poor experiences I have had are just employees modeling the manager/owner's behavior. Avoid this store at all costs!! Drive a few extra miles to a different UPS store. This is to thank the lady at this UPS store near 15th & Utica for her help on Thursday evening, Sept. 22. I came in four minutes before closing time, and she was very helpful and kind in making sure my package got shipped. The UPS truck was leaving, but she accepted my shipment and dropped it at another drop box on her way home. The package was a surprise gift to a co-worker in Florida that had to arrive intact and on time, which it did thanks to her. I realize that retail stores have to be firm about closing times, and I appreciate her making the judgment call to stay open a few more minutes for this tardy customer. read more
