On my most recent visit, I asked for my package to be stamped fragile & liquid. He snapped at me that the information was in the system and refused while he tossed my son's birthday gift aside. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere, use the self serve kiosk or request one of the other friendly staff.

If you're not interested in the lengthy history of the post office, read on. Taylors' post office is a conveyor of meal kits, overdue bills, advertisements that tell me how Lindsay Graham isn't who he used to be, advertisements about how Jamie Harrison is a commie linked to the Comet Ping Pong QAnon conspiracy, letters from grandma, and other mailable objects that cannot be sent via email. Greeting you once you enter the post office is the all-mighty automated postal machine, which is plenty capable of producing postage, while ensuring that humans are no longer needed. To the left of the entrance are thousands of post office boxes. A long time ago I recall the thrill of reserving my first post office box in college. PO Box 803. I was excited because that was also our area code. Then next year, we moved to area code 864. I did not receive PO Box 864. I was shortly banned from the post office due to "attitude issues." To the right of the entrance are the human-staffed counters. These brave souls take on the best and worst our little suburb can throw at them: badly-written addresses, questions about where to vote, and boxes of questionable content. There is also a faded sign where the copier once was. Thanks Kinkos for making post office copiers a socialist thing. Beyond knowing your post office is there, you should know there is way more action behind the counter. Processing of your meal kits, vicious political advertising, and letters from grandma require an army of human sorters (automatic sorters disposed of courtesy of the Trump administration) and delivery specialists who drop all this stuff in your home mailbox so you can swiftly drop it all into recycling. The post office is a treasure. Show some damn respect.
