We needed some copies made of random documents. Some were handwritten, some were typed, and some had highlighting. The helpful folks at PostalAnnex took the time to separately copy, so that the highlighted pages were color-copied for legibility. They also took the order, and my phone number, and called us when the order was ready. The price for the copies was very reasonable, as well. I would only use this place if I really needed to get something out quick and couldn't get to the post office. Their markup on things is really ridiculous. I knew there was a markup on USPS items but WOW. A certified letter through the post office was 8.97. Using this place for the same exact item/service/postage was 17.35. They also made me take the stamp off the envelope and purchase the postage through them...something about how they label the envelope. I thought this was a "thing". So the next time I went to the post office, I omitted the stamp. I asked about that and they said they would have just given me a credit. That's what I thought. I told them about my experience with PostalAnnex. And they looked at me like I had three heads. They said that PostalAnnex should've just given me a credit for the postage instead of making me take it off the envelope. So unless you're in an absolute pinch, I highly recommend going directly to the post office. I get that they need to make a profit but they're charging as if they're the ones delivering the envelope themselves which is not the case at all. read more

Just mailed a 9" x 9" x 4" small box weighing less than 2 pounds via FedEx at this Postal Annex. They charged me nearly $42 that included $300 insurance with no receiver's signature only tracking. Online FedEx estimated shipment cost was less than $20. We feel we were ripped off. We will never use this postal service again. However, the staff is extremely friendly and honest. This business simply has to make a profit on transactions. read more

Okay so I have been a customer here for about 3 years now. I have read some other comments and I am completely shocked on some of them. First of all the staff is always friendly always fun to deal with and are all great people. They have always taken care of all our needs. As far as pricing goes I understand they are not going to be the same price as dealing with the shipper directly. Yes they have overhead, payroll and other expenses so they are going to make a profit. I will pay for conscience and excellent service anytime. I always go here when I need to ship a package. There is a very rude female employee at the Simpsonville post office (on Main St) that I cannot stand, and I decided to try Postal Annex one day so I wouldn't have to deal with Miss Attitude. Haven't been back to the post office since. The employees here are very friendly, fast, and efficient. They do charge a bit more to ship, but they always try to find me the cheapest rate possible. Go here if you like paying double to ship a package! I thought it seemed a bit high to ship the small package I had via 2 day priority (USPS). I paid $11.50 at this store, but when I looked it up on the USPS website when I got home, I found out I would have only paid $5.85 at the regular post office! What a scam!!!! BE AWARE -- THE Prices of the PostalAnnex are DIFFERENT from what the normal post office charges. I called the post office to get a price for a tracking number on a business size envelope. The cost I was quoted was $1.20. PostalAnnex charged $4. 89 for the tracking number. I understand everyone has to make money however, they should have it POSTED their prices do not reflect the same prices of the post office. It wouldn't let me select 0 stars or I would've. I had an AWFUL experience with this store. I said I needed a package delivered to a location by a date that was 3 days from the sending date. A MANAGER assured me if I paid for x upgrade shipping then the package would definitely arrive by that day, if not the day prior. I trusted him, the Postal Annex employee, as the expert - why wouldn't I?!? The package had not arrived by the date promised (a Saturday), so I called on Monday (the next business day) and first spoke with a non-management employee. She apologized once, but she also defended the store. She also told me I "didn't need to worry" because she saw that the package would be delivered later that day (Monday). Um, first, what horrible customer service etiquette you have telling me not to worry when your store promised something they couldn't keep their word on and had me pay extra to guarantee that promise. And two, I paid extra to guarantee a package would make it to the location by Saturday because the person who it was for was leaving the country. So easy for you to say, "There is no need to worry." I then expressed my dissatisfaction and said I didn't exactly desire to give this company my business any more - and asked if they could give any type of future discount or anything. She said she would have to get a manager. A manager got on the phone and simply said, "Hello?" I said, "Hi." Long pause, then he said, "I just heard your story." Long awkward pause (why couldn't he immediately apologize or say what he was going to do to rectify the situation?!?). I had to just begin retelling the situation. He, a MANAGER, never once apologized on behalf of the employee or store. NOT ONCE. He proceeded to defend the store saying they can't control what USPS does. THEN DON'T MAKE PROMISES TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND MAKE THEM PAY EXTRA FOR YOUR BS PROMISES. Then he proceeded to ask what I was wanting, which I was just stunned. He also said, "What will make you happy?" And then said, "Will 20% make you happy?" Oh gee thanks for that. He also told me that he doesn't make much money on shipments with USPS (implying he couldn't do much for me). Well guess what? That's a business model problem - not MY problem. What type of manager doesn't apologize and initiate making things right?!?? One who clearly doesn't care to have continued business. Maybe the few things I've mailed there do not add up to any huge sum, but the business I could've continued giving would have - along with those who I would've recommended to this shipping store but no longer will. And to top it all off - the manager abruptly ended the conversation by saying, "Okay I've flagged your account with a 20% discount," and then HUNG UP without saying another word. read more
