I went to this UPS Store last Saturday morning to ship an Amazon return package. I chose this location because it was within walking distance of my home and it was opened on Saturdays. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The elderly staff member was especially helpful when he recommended that I use a large plastic mailing envelope pouch instead of a cardboard box for my Amazon return to save me money. The clothing I was returning fit perfectly in that large mailing envelope pouch. I plan to use this location again whenever I have to return an Amazon product. read more

Great location, and got my Amazon packages here several times, but it seems to be understaffed during busy hours. I hope that the corporate will do their part to ensure workers are paid well and get a couple more staff, to improve wait times during busy hours, especially since customers tend to try to "cut" and bypass others in line. This location would make a great place to have an Amazon locker, so staff could attend to customers and customers could even self serve for their Amazon pickups, since I imagine it's difficult for the staff to accommodate so many customers. As a customer, for me it is a stressful experience. They offer a lot of services, so I'm sure a staff increase would serve both the business and customers best. read more

This store never opens on time. There were several people waiting and the employee just casually saunters up 10 minutes late. Does not say a word. He is one of the rudest employees I have ever worked with. Did not greet anyone and when he finished my transaction he threw the receipt on he counter then walked away. He did the same thing to the person on front of me. He clearly does not want to be there. read more

Beware! This store will charges much higher shipping rates than UPS advertises (40% more in my case). Make sure to call the store in advance of going in order to confirm their rates because they do not honor UPS advertised shipping rates. read more

Convenient location!!! Main factor for quite a few people. Just 2 1/2 blocks away from the Embarcadero station and very close to the Ferry building. The staff is super helpful and was very friendly with my questions. They were stocked up with all the boxes and padded "paks". The store is well cleaned and neat. read more

I just came in here and had such a hurried experience! Is this store under new management now? I'm not sure why the employees are talking to each other about other orders while trying to help customers on another order. The vibe just seems so chaotic and unorganized! The man who helped me kept getting the name of the street I was shipping to wrong. He definitely wasn't entering it in carefully. Thankfully I caught it and corrected him two times. I'm not sure why he was in a hurry. There wasn't anyone else in the store. I'm hoping I came in on a bad day. Otherwise, I will be happy to go to another shipping store in the area. This is a brand new UPS Store now open at the corner of Drumm and Clay, right at the 1 California MUNI terminal. It's one of the biggest UPS Stores I've seen. They have the usual features you see at other UPS Stores, such as mailboxes, postal services, print services, and so on. what separates this UPS store from others is the service. Trish and Ryan are very friendly, and both of them separately asked if I needed any help while I was looking around the store. read more

I had accidentally left my hygiene bag in my room at the hotel. We are talking about a small lightweight cloth bag with a toothbrush, razor blade, and a stick of deodorant in it. The hotel said they would ship it and charge it to me. They estimated between $5 and $10. The crooks at this UPS store went free reign on my credit card and charged over $41 to ship it to a destination a two hour drive away. Over $41 for basic UPS ground. Out of curiosity I took it to the post office to compare what the rate would be. I put the package on the scale exactly as it was shipped to me and for UPS to send it priority mail, a higher level shipping then UPS basic ground, was $9.25. In other words, exactly right in line with the $5 to $10 approximation quoted by the hotel staff. I am not sure what happened, perhaps the UPS store owner is just a flat out crook and he added in a bunch of ridiculous fees knowing some hotel staffer won't pay attention or care because it's not their money. Or perhaps he added weight to the scale. Who knows, but I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and I am sure it will be successful. read more

Be careful of extra fees not disclosed to you. I went yesterday to ship a package and the lady said it would be $21.54 for shipping. She rang me up, gave me my receipt, and a drop-off package receipt. After I walked out, I noticed on the drop-of package receipt I had been charged extra fees that were never explained to me. When I was at the store, the lady asked if the package contained $100 worth of stuff. I told her it was about $120. She never explained that you can purchase additional insurance, she just automatically charged me for it. I also noticed an additional fee that I'm not sure what it was for. I called UPS to ask about the fees and was told that UPS store locations are independently owned and operated franchises. These locations may charge additional fees for other shipping services and those fees vary by location. I returned a few minutes later and asked for my package back, took it elsewhere and got a better shipping price. Use this place for shipping pre-paid packages but go to an actual UPS location (not a franchise store) to pay for and ship your packages. read more

Got there right before they closed at 4 (said they were open later online though?) and the super nice lady helped me out with a notarization, amazon return, and shipping my notarized docs shipped overnight - the UPS guy waited a few mins for my package which was really cool too. This is the best UPS store I have ever visited, and the folks working there are so lovely and helpful. I was moving out of my apartment in San Francisco and had to ship a few things across the country. I misread the closing hours and showed up a few minutes after closing. Prava was so lovely and took pity on me, she said I could bring my stuff inside and they would ship it the next day. She took my information down, and as promised, she called exactly at the time she told me she would the following morning. She took care of the shipping, settled everything over the phone, and emailed me the receipt. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! THANK YOU, PRAVA!! If you need to mail something and you have a prepaid UPS mailing label and have to take it to a UPS store, then you can take it here. I mean... like, what else would you do? If you have a UPS label and you just take it to FedEx you aren't doing yourself any favors. Sure, you could drive cross county and hand deliver it, but UPS definitely has economies of scale going for them and a whole operations system in place. I'd recommend it versus personally delivering all of your packages. read more

I didn't get the name of the lady working here but I came in with a lot of stuff to print and send and I expected a lot of hassle, but she took care of everything and gave me the cheapest rate; I was done before I knew it! This 5 star review is specifically for the manager of this UPS Store named Steve Kwon. I give 0 stars for UPS Freight. In March 2016 I brought in to Steve Kwon's UPS Store on Clay St a 6x3 family embroidery which was framed and had a plexiglasscover. I wanted it shipped to my cousin. It weighed about 25lbs so I paid over $1,000 because it qualified for UPS freight (more expensive). I also bought $500 insurance. When UPS freight delivered it to my cousin, they pressured her to sign before opening the package so they could leave and didn't tell her that her signature meant it wasn't broken. Unfortunately the plexiglass cover was broken and after months of Steve Kwon negotiating on my behalf they stuck to it was signed so they aren't paying. Instead of telling me too bad, Steve Kwon reimbursed not only the cost of repairing the embroidery but also part of the shipping cost. I will ONLY do business with UPS (especially UPS Freight) through Steve Kwon. He is responsible and I trust him. read more

I never thought I would be in a position to write a scathing review about a UPS store of all places, but this one really deserves it. I came in around 9:30 on a Saturday to an empty store. I had an amazon return, with the return label printed. The man working told me that if I wanted to tape the label to the package it would cost $1. I've sent dozens of packages from UPS (never this one before, obviously) and I've never been charged for tape. I mentioned this, and this guy BLEW UP! He started yelling, "I'M THE NICE ONE! FINE YOU HAVE TO BUY THE WHOLE ROLL FOR $5 THATS WHAT THE MANAGER SAYS" as he gesticulated wildly at the wall of products for sale. I calmly asked him again politely just to consider taping the label, saying I would simply go to a different UPS store if he didn't, but this wouldn't really benefit either of us. He continued on his tirade about how he doesn't get any money from amazon and how this is my problem, and how he is busy (the store was completely empty), and then he just TURNS AROUND AND LEAVES, leaving me there at the counter alone. Never in my life have I ever been shouted at by anyone in customer service like this. He was really YELLING. I try to get his attention several times and finally he emerges again in a huff and I ask to speak to the manager. "HE NOT HERE RIGHT NOW! HE DON'T DO ANYTHING... HERE!!" As he thrusts a business card at me. I call the number on the card: the phone for the store starts ringing!! What a joke. This place is a disaster. I felt so disrespected and frustrated-- feelings you would NEVER expect from trying to send a box with a pre-printed label at a UPS store. At this point I left, walked several blocks to the next UPS (Howard Street) dropped off the package where the guy behind the counter immediately scanned it and taped on the label without even blinking an eye. Amazon has a policy where you can use your own shipping and they reimburse you for the cost. Even though this is more of a hassle than using UPS, in the future I will go this route-- I cannot continue to use a company that supports a franchise that is this terrible. read more
