I always have a solid and decent experience at this UPS. I think some of the staff were with the Laurel Street branch I used to go to. I usually have my shipping labels pre-printed so my drop offs tend to be quick. Supplies and display are neat and orderly. The staff are courteous and helpful. Major kudos to the 20-minute parking spots right around the corner (on Laurel) as most on San Carlos Ave are usually taken. I often get bubble wrap and packaging air pillows that are used once and still clean. I appreciate that I can collect them and drop them off here for future use. Win win! read more

Do not use these guys if you want packages to arrive. I shipped 4 packages from this store on the same day. Three arrived, the forth, although it got on the same truck as some of the others out of the store, never made it to the 1st stop: the Menlo Park main station. How is it possible to "lose" a breadbox sized package in this short hop? The store keeps claiming that this is a UPS issue and they can't help, the UPS guys say this is a store issue and that the UPS Store is not part of UPS. I try calling the UPS Store numbers, and get bounced to UPS customer service. So is UPS Store part of UPS? We filed a trace request - no information. Did someone ask the truck driver what happened? Apparently not. We hoped that filing a claim would mean that UPS would look for the package - nope. Customer service is either in India, or if you get someone in the US, they are super rude. No apologies, just excuses about how UPS ships sooo many packages and they can't possibly find a "lost" one in that vast system. read more

I went in on a Friday, mid afternoon. There was a line of about ten people. There was one employee who was moving as slow as possible. If anyone was missing anything, they were sent to the back of the line. Someone had a box that had its dimentions stamped on the box, by the manufacturer. It still needed to be measured by tape measure. It was definitely an effort to get as few packages as possible processed. I was parked in twenty minute parking and I was in the line a lot longer than that. It certainly shouldn't have taken that long to scan my boxes and get out of the store. read more

Had to return lots of items to Amazon today. This UPS store staff was great! Over the phone, they gave me directions to locate them and gave parking info. Once I got there the lady patiently went through each item I had to return. They were so polite and kind. read more

I just wanted to leave a 10/10 positive review for the kind employee that helped me. I didn't catch her name but she spoke Spanish and was working the closing shift on Tuesday 9/16. She was so helpful, patient, sweet, personable and efficient. She let me borrow some tools to carry the packages from my car. The line started to get long so she got quite busy but she didn't rush any customer and treated everyone with respect while quickly managing the whole line on her own. I came here to drop off a couple of packages for return. Most of my Amazon returns typically don't require either a label or a package so I'm used to just bringing in my items and having them take care of the rest. However, I knew one of my items that I was returning was different this time around and needed a box so I brought it in already in a box. However, I didn't realize it had to be completely sealed which was my bad. All I required was a strip of tape to cover the top. I've made this same mistake once or twice before in the past at previous stores and the staff has usually been understanding and will just give me a strip of tape on the house. However, here, I had to pay over $5 to buy a roll of packing tape just to get one strip of tape. What a bummer. Parking is also the other issue here. San Carlos has now blocked off the street that UPS is located on to make room for outdoor dining. Which isn't normally a bad thing but if you have any big boxes to carry to drop off, you're in for a big inconvenience as you have to park a block or two over and then walk over. read more

This is pretty much the publics fault in that 25 years ago we got spoiled and stopped waiting inline at the USPS. Meanwhile these have popped up charging us the public - prices like 16.00 ++ in order to mail a 50Cent book to back east. There is NO MORE Media mail at the UPS Store, and I don't even think you purchase 1 USPS stamp at these stores. The personalities of the employees on SC avenue are quirky because they love working with their regulars but people walking through the door, appear to attract rude behavior, like constantly asking for a drivers licenses, when nobodu Also DOGS are so passe. The best UPS location. Jannie and Helen are both very helpful. However, there is no parking spaces nearby. Only two or three on street parking in front of the store which are always occupied. You can park behind the store right at the corner, there are at least 5 spaces. Anyway, it doesn't bother me. read more

This location is a couple of blocks down from the Post Office, and it's a convenient location for me to walk to after I am finished checking my PO Box. I've only used the location to drop off my returns, but I'm always acknowledged immediately. When I went in recently, every employee had on a mask and gloves and they were doing their best to meet everyone's needs. I had to wait a bit, but I'm just thankful they are open and serving the customers' needs. read more

But guess what? amazon return for an item with a missing part...given a choice by amazon to return at the ups store...no need to pack or label...simply instructed to show the qr code on a phone...putting the item back into the plastic bag and in the box it came in... afternoon visit and no lines...in to return the amazon order...placing the amazon box on the counter...told they can't take packages if it's not properly packaged and taped up..a little confused because i thought they package and ship all amazon returns...told that she will make an exception, and will pack and tape up the box...scanning the qr code and out... going back home to figure out if there was a mistake in my part...seems like the employee made the mistake because it does state that "ups store will pack and ship your amazon returns for free" read more

I had an item I needed to ship, which I brought to the store because I needed help with packaging it correctly and choosing a shipping speed. (Call me old fashion, but it seems reasonable that that a shipping store would help with all of this.) Despite the fact that I was one of only a few customers, the employee made it abundantly clear to me that the whole process of helping me was a huge hassle for her. I weirdly felt like an unwanted customer, someone who she just wanted to leave. She was short with her answers to me, and made me feel like I should know all the different prices and rates for shipping. But the part that is really frustrating is: after spending time packing my item, choosing a shipping method, and boxing it all up, she tells me she "can't accept the item" because it's "too expensive." BUT she COULD still charge me for all the packaging time and material. I was confused and angry hearing this. What do you mean you can't accept it? You've known the whole time what I'm shipping! So the trip here ends with me paying for a box, packing material, and wasting time with someone who didn't want to help me, but ultimately leaving the store WITHOUT shipping the box because I needed to go to "a hub." What a waste of time. And for the record, I still have no idea what "a hub" is for a UPS Store. I'm confused why one UPS store can accept a package but another can't. And needless to say, she did not help me understand this. One star for convenience, another because it was quiet. But I don't think I'll be returning here. read more

Lots of TOUCH POINTS Yesterday I came here ~8:45 am (opens 8:30) to send a package and there were 10 people waiting in line with the line going out the front door. Not everyone was keeping a safe distance apart. They had only one worker at the counter, usually there's at least two. Their service is fine but I don't like needing to touch so many shared surfaces (who knows what germs are there?): -front or back door: need to touch the door knob/handle to enter or exit. Other places either keep the door propped open or have auto-sensor operation. -they ask you to initial the stated valuation and sign your name on the form; I don't like sharing the same pen that others touch -the credit card machine: you need to press the "OK" button and sign your name with the stylus, more places where other customers touch Tip: -I read that you can get a 5%(?) discount with a AAA card. That may not seem like much but it adds up if you go there regularly. -Parking: a few spots in the back alley, many open spots in the San Carlos city lot (free) behind Bank of America. Enter via Olive St. or Cherry St. Addendum: Sorry I wasn't more clear with my OP, the store was already open and the line began from inside and stretched outside the front door. read more

They've always helped and been very friendly. I come here every other week to fax off my timesheets for work because I really don't like going to work when I am not on the clock. I made an appointment to have a document notarized at 1:30 today. I received an email reminder of it this morning. I arrived at the store at 1:25 pm and was told the notary person had just gone on break. I was asked if I could return at 2 pm to which I replied "did the notary person not realize that they had a 1:30 appointment? " to which she replied "i don't think so". There was no apology and no attempt to call the person back to the store. We left and wasted a half an hour and went back at 2. We were then told that "there is a line" and didn't say what time or whether the other person already in line had an appointment or not. There was no apology at any point. I (unfortunately) need to go in there for business and when I ask for an additional mailers, etc (they're free) he begrudgingly hands you one...even though I am in there several times a month... Came in to send a package that was prepaid, just needed a box to put it in the employee states as she rolls her eyes "I am trying to measure so I can tell you what size" at this point I'm looking at her like "Did she really just talk with that tone" she proceeds to put the box down on top of the box I was trying to package- THEN I say "May I please have some tape" She again- rolls her eyes and says as she points "you can purchase tape on the wall over there" Is this not a packaging store? Wow - this store sucks. The staff has extreme attitude - I'm not sure how I'm the bad guy by coming in to mail a package. I wonder if this attitude is a UPS company standard operations... Another problem is I had to ship a return back to a corporation that has an account with UPS. I was told to use the company's code. When I got to UPS the person helping me (with attitude of course) told me that they can only ship overnight or express (not sure abt the difference) and he never told me that ground shipping was an option. He told me that those two were the only shipping options. When the company got the return they were extremely upset and I told them to take it up with UPS. It was clear this UPS guy ripped me and the company off. From the dishonesty to the attitude to the theft that occurs with UPS (a few major stories have been published abt the theft that happens at the Oakland hub - the bay area hub) I would stay away and either go to the post office, an independent shipper, or Fedex. The people who work here are really great - this review is poor because of the manager Bharat. I have been going there for years and during the sweltering summer when he is there he refuses to allow them to use the air conditioning. I have seen it in the 90s and the poor employees are suffering because "oh the heat doesn't bother me" he says. Even when multiple customers complain "oh the heat doesn't bother me". It is revolting in there - Bharat, the heat bothers us!!! And whether you realize it or not, your hygiene is suffering from it also! Turn on the air!! read more
