I used the 4676 Commercial St SE, Salem location to have antiques packed, insured, and shipped to an auction house by them. It took a couple months after shipment for the items to be inspected by the auction house and then listed for bids. When I saw the auction photos, a WWII Navy battle lantern with one crack across the corner of a thick glass lens had arrived with that same lens shattered. When the auction house was notified that this was not the condition the item was sent in, the auction house said that overall the shipment wasn't packed well and avoid this location. As a lessor valued item in the lot, an insurance claim so long after sending wasn't worth the effort, and the remaining items were intact. The service here has always been friendly and prompt, and I will continue to use this shop. Not when shipping antiques... I tried to respond to the owner by email, to give greater details in writing and provide photos, but apparently their email address is not routinely monitored, and no response after a week. Note that the UPS Pack and Ship Guarantee says if your item "is damaged or lost in transit, you'll be reimbursed*." Because of that sneaky asterisk though, I wouldn't count on it. Restrictions apply. I've patronized this store for 18 years, but sporadically, and unaware of ownership changes. For a long time service seemed acceptable, although the xerox machines were so complex, as a casual user I wasted a lot of time figuring out how they worked, and the staff were too busy to coach. My last visit, I needed an IMPORTANT tax paper faxed, but the corpulent middle-aged counterman was acting like a real jerk. I couldn't get him to even look at me. He didn't give me a confirmation of transmission (it didn't go through) nor a receipt for my payment. I'm pretty flexible about giving new hires, for example, some slack, but he crossed a line. i can understand why they dont let you put a review on their webpage cause there greedy and take advantage of people . i would like someone explain to me how i can pay $91($40 shipping ,,$45 packing and handling ,,,,,$6 ins.) for two fragile beer signs from PA. 1300 miles but these guys charged me $374 ,that started out over 600$ but complained then come up with 374 to ship a sign 1700 miles , so that figures 3/4 of a cent /mile vs. 22 cents / mile adds up quick and when i wanted to make sure i have 500 $ ins, it goes up 20-30 dollars ridiculous when the 6 dollar charge was on a 550$ purchase , and going back a step they told a auction rep. that S@H would be 200$ on the high side if item was brought to them from campbell ca. in which with that info decided to go that route imagine my surprise when they come up with this 600 what ever figure , i would have glad to pay 200 altho reluctantly ...i have gotten fragile signs shipped to me from all over country fl., mi. ,mo., pa., ny. id. and have never experienced such insulting rates and or charges from auction ,S@H companies as this transaction ,then in getting pkg it was a home made box omg and packing was nothing special definitely not 85$ worth . i would run from this business go somewhere else that doesnt inflate there charges it cant be that much difference in rates from east to west or across the country where ever a person is . pure robbery its that simple read more

Wish the person shipping my urgent letter would have said it was not being shipped by UPS. They shipped it USPS mail which at this time is experiencing extreme delays to the point of weeks. If I knew that I would have shipped by FedEx. The person made it sound like it was being shipped by UPS and made sure I had a tracking number. Maybe some better communication with customers that come in to make sure they know who is really shipping their package letters. Just super irritated ! The new ownership of this business are ass hats. The former owners were very friendly, helpful, and would go out of their way to make sure you were taken care of and saved money by letting you know less expensive ways to do shipping etc. The new management are beholden to UPS gouging techniques like charging $14 to sent flat rate USPS envelopes when the USPS themselves only charges $7. Their mailboxes aren't secure either. I keep getting other peoples mail in my mailbox, and every time I open my mailbox the back panel wall is always wide open and not secured. The personnel that work here should not be in public facing positions. They at best are brutish, dismissive, and just tote the corporate line dictated by their overlord UPS. So just another engaging small business transformed into a cold corporate-controlled screw the public entity. read more

Poor service attitudes experienced today. I previously used this location often but more recently use the store further north so I was shocked and disappointed today. What bothered me was the snide "thank you for coming in " remark made by one male worker as an unsatisfied man departed then I witnessed a rude female worker with another client. By the time she, Liza, was helping me she was so focused on talking with her coworker about the last client that I was about to leave. She was not engaged in what she was doing for me nor listening and seemed put out when I told her " I do not need a box" She'd gone on an unnecessary search which had she been focused on her task with me she would have avoided. I went in here to get a document notarized. There's a young millennial woman there that took the document from me, thumbing through it like she wanted to know my business. She gets to the last page of the document and says, "where do I notarize this?". There were three places to notarize, one for individual, one for a corporation, and one for an LLC. I told her one place there. Then she proceeds to explain to me what a notary is, adopting a condescending tone. I called her on her behavior and she says that she's going to get someone else to help me. I replied, "Good call." Another employee came out and he was helpful and asked all the right questions. While I was there, I witnessed her interacting with a man that brought in an oversized box that he wanted shipped. She explained to him, quite abruptly, that the label that was on the box they can't scan because they're only a UPS store and don't have access to the UPS account system at the UPS depot in town. She could have explained it in a more digestable way. I was leaving the same time as this man was, hauling this oversized box (I held the door for him) and he made a comment to me how rude she was to him. So, it wasn't just me. She has dark hair and blue eyes. She looks like she hates her life and is taking it out on the customers. This woman is rude and shouldn't be dealing with the public. read more

UPS is usually my delivery service of choice, because of the friendly customer service agents and easy/convenient delivery, drop-off, and pick-up options. I'm not much of a complainer, because I'm not a fan of conflict and confrontation, but I'm very disappointed and angry with the service I received from UPS the past couple of days. I was supposed to pick-up a package on 8/19/19 at a UPS store. My husband and I just started using Hello Fresh (which we love) so we have been getting food delivered weekly for dinner. I called the UPS store to make sure it was there before picking it up and I was told that I personally had refused the package at 10:05am that morning. That was impossible because I work 8:00a-5:00p and am obviously not home during the day nor out and about picking up packages. Also, I have never refused a package in my life and would never refuse something perishable like food. The UPS agent told me that I specifically needed to call the UPS customer service line in order to get more information on the whereabouts of my package. I called and the customer service representative told me, that again, I refused the package and that they would deliver it the next morning. I told the agent that I didn't refuse it and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Well, it's 1:00pm on 8/20/19 and the package still hasn't been delivered. I called the UPS support line again and they said that they returned it to Hello Fresh. That didn't make any sense to me, because I was told something else yesterday. Mistakes happen and normally I wouldn't be so frustrated, but how dare a UPS employee lie and record that I refused a package when I wasn't even there to refuse it! Was it necessary to toss me around between different customer service agents on the phone, because no one knew where my package was? Now my husband and I don't have dinner for the rest of the week. Our budget is tight and we are always on the go, so we usually have hello fresh for dinner and protein shakes for lunch and breakfast. Now we don't have any hardy meals for the week and I'm immensely disappointed in the services I received from UPS. read more

I love the fact that my mail and packages are securely held for me until I can pick them up. I love the help they've given me after surgery when I couldn't walk! I mailed a package from UPS store on commercial September 11, 2019. I went in stating I wanted to mail first class mail. I paid $7.95 for my padded mailer going from Salem to Medford, which I thought was a bit high since a package I mailed out last week to east coast was only $4.50, but paid anyway. I looked at receipt and saw a tracking number and thought I was "all good" since that is what the guy helping me had said. Two weeks later, recipient still has not received the package. I went back to UPS store to inquire about tracking, was told that the owner had helped me, and he had shipped my package as a metered mail not first class w/tracking. I was told that there was no insurance on my package, nor was there any way to track said package, and it was MY FAULT because I left the store without checking. I expressed my frustration and said this was BS but again was told this was my fault. They accused me of cussing in the store, which at the time I did not. After I was outside, I flipped them off. Whilst sitting in my car writing this review, I asked an employee, who identified as the manager, when the owner would be back. She replied he rarely comes in but since I cussed them out in the store, she would not help me. I again replied, I did not cuss them out in the store, but I will now. After showing the lady at the desk the tracking number stating it was redirected to their location, she still said it wasn't there and that they have "multiple locations". After multiple minutes and going back and forth- she took the 10 steps away from her computer to their back area and found my package.. with my name clearly written on it. They are inept. For years this location was reliable and the employees were pleasant and helpful. Since the change in ownership it's been ridiculous. At least once a week I get someone else's mail in my box. I hand it to them at the counter and they don't respond. Repeatedly I'm not receiving checks or documents that were sent. It's obvious that since I'm getting others mail, that other people are getting mine, yet not giving it to them at the counter to put it in the correct box. It's so bad I'll have to change my address to a location that is less convenient for me. I'll drive out of my way and pay more due to their ineptness. read more

My grandfather had a painting shipped to me from this store. He paid to have THEM pack, ship, and insure it (for $2000). They charged him over $200. The painting arrived damaged. I had the painting mailed and shipped to the artist for repair for around $35! A fraction what they charged him. The store filed a claim to help me get my money back (because apparently I, as the receiver, and my grandfather, as their customer, have no right to do so directly). The claim was denied because apparently when filing the claim, they stated to UPS that they did NOT pack the painting! They did and charged $80 to do so! They refuse to own up to their mistakes. The owner (Monte) seems to make up stories which serve him best (claims package was packed in a way it definitely wasn't, provided false information to UPS, went as far as to insinuate that I was trying to scam him, etc). Blatantly overcharged my grandfather. Now I'm out several hundred dollars in shipping and repair costs as well. STAY AWAY! read more

This store used to have wonderful customer service for a long time, but unfortunately this store has hired one of the rudest employees I've ever encountered in retail. I have had the misfortune of dealing with Norman on multiple occasions now and each time he grumbles throughout the entire transaction and is clearly irritated by the existence of all customers. The last time he erroneously demanded payment for taping up what he called a "big" 24 inch box citing the reason that tape is expensive (really??)... but only wanted it in cash, i guess so he could pocket the money. So, that was the last straw and they have lost my business. Its too bad because they used to be great. read more

My son and I had a great experience at the UPS store today. Monte was very helpful, and they are ALL very friendly! My son has never sent anything overseas, but they made it a very easy experience. We didn't know that they could ship it USPS also (which ended up being the least expensive) or we would have come there sooner to get it done. My son works Mon-Fri, so getting to the Post Office was next to impossible. We will definitely be back. Much better experience than the Post Office, and shorter wait!! read more
