They have office and packing supplies, print and copy services, Amazon return services, and secure post boxes. Rates are comparable to their competitor down the street, but in my experience, UPS usually doesn't surprise you with outlandish weight adjustments. Customer service was very unhelpful, almost as if they were trying to earn an award in unhelpfulness. I was there to return something to a business. The business had called the UPS store the day before to let them know I was coming and that they would pay for the package. So I go in there and I relay this information but the person at the desk was telling me to call the business to get their credit card information. How many businesses want to give a customer their credit card information? Not many and of course I called them and they didn't want to give me their credit card information, they gave me the run around and transferred me to voicemail. The woman at the counter tried telling me it was the same thing if she called versus if I called. Well it's not it's very very different when a business calls to collect another businesses information to provide a service. The entire thing took far too long, what should've happened was I let them know what was going on, they were able to find the note with the business's phone number, I drop off the package and leave. That's not what happened they gave me pushback, told me to do their job, and then made me wait around while they did it. Anyway, they were awful. Do whatever you can to avoid this location. I also overheard another customer trying to mail a package and it was gonna cost her nearly $50. It's not likely the fault of the store but still that's outrageous. read more

I had to get over 30 document scanned and faxed as well as a notary to get signed. I was taking care of quickly and kindly. The staff here really does try to make things move along quickly as they can. Though I had a lot of documents to get completed, they didn't make me feel like a burden. Be advised that scanning a document and sending a document cost two dollars each. Be prepared! But it was done professionally. read more

I should have read the reviews on this location first! Terrible customer service, the staff has no idea about rates or what packages are there. I called specifically to ask in advance how much it was to have a package delivered here that I could pick up the same day. The man on the phone stated it was a $5 flat fee. When I got to the store, they charged me $55 or threatened to return the package. They are completely dishonest in their pricing and they simply don't care. It took three people to even get a final answer on the price and find my package. Will never use the UPS store again. Send your packages somewhere else if you are travelling! read more

When I go to this ups they take care of my business without problems, my issues stem from having gone in there today, and standing in line while this woman had been working on a large order, she was disabled and elderly, the store worker repackaged all her loose packages into one large one, the order consisted mostly of depends. The worker that was already doing the order with her was patient, and even spoke quietly asking if the depends was all she was packaging, the order was almost done when another worker came from the back of the store, assuming they'd been on a break, and exclaimed loudly and mockingly "Are those DIAPERS?!" And laughed, the worker helping the woman was mortified, I could tell, she was pretty snide in her tone with her response to this rude ass worker. What's in a package is no one else's fucking business, not to shout across the store. It pissed me off especially because as a young man no one thinks I wear diapers, I dont, however my partner who is only a year older than me, does have incontinence issues, literally disabled and cannot help it, I was mortified thinking if that had been a package my partner was trying to send, how embarrassed and shitty that would've made him feel. This store is outstanding. Competent and cheerful. I took 5-6 parcels in yesterday -- all different addresses and sizes. I got in and out in less than 10 minutes. Many other customers arrived while I was there but one of their team was handling customers in the line -- in addition to the two clerks at the counter. This store's service had been deteriorating over the previous couple years but the new owners have really turned things around. I understand they also bought the UPS store further south on Commercial St (near the Winco) so I suspect it has improved ass well. read more

Before I begin, this isn't towards any other employee working at this store other than the one mentioned below. The woman working there was a extremely rude. I asked her to make me a copy of documents that were notarized and have it emailed.... Through the whole process she had an attitude. She asked me to write down on a piece of paper the email address I would like the documents sent to. She ended up sending it to a completely different address. And made a small little comment while doing so. I will take accountability the email address was poorly written on paper. BUT you don't ASSUME it's the correct address and send it right away. U verify with the customer to make sure the address is correct before sending it. Then my copied document went missing. I later found out she shred it. While making another copy, she proceeded with another smart remark and says "you didn't state u wanted a copy to keep." She made an ASSUMPTION again that I wanted the paper shredded. I never stated I wanted the documents shredded. To the the UPS employee that was helping me out, if you hate ur job quit. Grow up. You are not in high school anymore. You will not amount to anything in life carrying on with that same attitude. What a very rude and careless employee. The assumptions that you carry on ur back will be your downfall... This UPS location is the worst one in Salem. I came here to return a device to Verizon Wireless. All the process included was for them to scan a QR code and it would prompt them to print a label and package it up and send it off. I walked in and told them what I needed and they said "yeah well you'll need a box for that and label". I explained to them the process and they said "well I don't know what to tell you, you'll need a box and label you should call them". Again, I told them that I'm not paying for shipping and labels when it's not required for this process. Manager had no idea what I was talking about... when I went to the other location on Commercial Street (4676 Commercial St) they were able to do this process for me no problem. These workers and management are LAZY and INCOMPETENT. They had no interest in helping me or working through this transaction. They were very condescending and treated me like I was stupid. Don't waste your time coming here. They don't care about customer service or satisfaction. read more

Do not expect good service at this UPS store, go to another location! There is an older man with a silver ponytail that works here and he is very rude and doesn't like to work. I consistently ship things to my customers and have a corporate account and every time I have gone into this location, this same man tells me that he is "out of shipping labels"....so on my last visit, I brought my own and he got pissed because this meant he had to actually work and send my package to the UPS hub in Portland. I made sure he put the shipping label on my box before I left and was treated rudely throughout my visit. Then, the next day, I received a call from the UPS hub in Portland. My package label had been removed and the box arrived with no information and they opened the box and found my letter to my client with my name and phone number. The hub was able to overnight my package to it's destination in time to reach their deadline. I hope someone in the corp office sees this post and adjusts his attitude, he is a terrible representation for UPS. read more

I got to this ups ten minutes after they closed. I had three big boxes of books packed, postage paid and labeled to ship out to Amazon warehouses. I was driving to San Diego from Salem that night after dropping the packages off. I'm so very thankful the employee unlocked the door and let me drop the boxes off. I didn't catch his name but it was the evening of June 5th. That guy deserves an award!! I hate being that person that arrives at a store after closing and expects somebody to open the door when it's quitting time. THIS UPS STORE IS A HORRIBLE REPRESENTATION OF ITS FRANCHISOR. This is a franchisee of a company that purports to care about people. I have never been so doubtful of that as I am right now. I didn't read reviews beforehand, since I was just dropping off book rentals. Had I realized this store's complete disregard for parental rights, I would have just driven 5 hours to drop the books off on Amazon's doorstep in Seattle. I went in with my 2-year-old daughter, who, by most accounts, is a curious but polite and considerate child. As we walked in with my books, a gentleman approached us to assist me with getting in and out quickly. Within seconds, he was reprimanding my daughter for touching greeting cards. He then told me that "she can't touch those cards" because "if she bends them we can't sell them." Fair enough-- you break it, you buy it-- but tell me, and let me choose the best course of action for my child. The fact that I communicated to the man that I found his comments insulting to my abilities as a parent, and my sense as a human, should have been enough to put an end to their conduct. However, within one minute, a lady walked up to my daughter while I was crouched down speaking to her, and told her that she could not do what she was doing. She attempted to direct my child to a table of toys, which, to some, would be a thoughtful gesture. Had I needed the assistance, I would have been grateful for her help. Given my interaction with the gentleman, it was clear that I was perturbed. Customers in the store looked on apologetically. One woman mouthed "I'm so sorry" to me, before grabbing a card and envelope to give my daughter so she could play with it. This is a good time to mention that, to my knowledge, my daughter did not destroy ANYTHING in that store. Not a single card bent. No screaming or terrorizing the other patrons or employees. I kept my composure as best as I could, but I was livid. I am sorry for anybody who ever goes into that store with children, and I implore anybody considering patronizing their establishment to CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BRANCH, or simply go to the FedEx store located just a few blocks north on Commercial. There are plenty of small businesses that you can support, where you will not be degraded or embarrassed by people who want to chastise your children on your behalf. I will never visit this store again. They should be ashamed of themselves for treating a person like that. read more

If you're thinking of getting a mailbox here to receive packages because you think it will be more secure than leaving them outside your door - think again! Amazon can drop a package off at the counter and it will show up as "delivered, handed to someone at the front desk" in your order status and yet somehow the package is not there when you go to collect it. The staff are not helpful when this happens and the old guy who is in charge shrugs it off as not their problem - he says they can't track Amazon tracking numbers and basically blames it all on Amazon. He said that Amazon leaves packages in a lobby next door that has some mailboxes and is open to the public with no oversight - if a package is left there anyone could walk off with it. But that lobby is a different address, and the package I was waiting for was marked as delivered in the middle of the afternoon, during business hours. I doubt Amazon would drop off a load of boxes in a weird lobby rather than the UPS store at that time. They basically blame missing packages on everything except themselves - they accept no responsibility at all; it makes no difference if the tracking info says it was "signed for by someone at the front counter" - it's not their problem! You're better off just asking a neighbor to glance at your doorstep for free. read more

Wow, customer service is not their strong point! I sell on eBay & Amazon, so I ship out lots of items every week. I came in the other day with about 8 boxes ready to ship out & already labeled. All the lady has to do is scan them in and put them in back, but by the third or fourth one I notice she is annoyed. She asks how many more I have, I tell and she takes the current package in back while muttering. Anyway, I've since been frequenting the UPS store a little further south on commercial street, and wow what a difference! They seem to know that taking packages is their job, they even have a handy dolly sitting outside for people like me with multiple boxes! read more

3 weeks ago i went in to return 10 amazon items, only to find out i needed to match the item to the 4 different return slips before UPS could ship it back (to ensure my refund was processed correctly). it was 15 minutes before they closed & i was having a bad day, & super stressed out, so i just felt too overwhelmed to sort through the items & match them to return slips. i told that to the woman behind the counter & began to walk out. with each excuse i gave her, she countered with "i can help you", we're still open", & "i'm willing to try if you are". her persitence swayed me, & i stayed & got all the items matched, & she got them set up for return. i was so very grateful & thanked her. after i left, i knew i needed to leave a positive review for her, that i hope she reads, (sadly, i didn't get her name). maybe others will read this & think she was just doing her job, but i disagree. her gentle & positive persistence to offer me help was an act of kindness to me when i was overwhelmed with stress. thank you! read more

After waiting a week for the tracking to update on a package I dropped off for packing and delivery, I finally decided to try and call. For two days I tried to reach someone by phone with no success. After calling multiple times on the third day, someone finally picked up. She was not helpful in telling me where my package was, aside from telling me it had left their store and they weren't responsible for it. She eventually hung up on me because I kept pressing her for information on my package that she couldn't account for. Such poor customer service and I will never utilize them again. read more

The women working today have no social skills and are rude. All three of them were unprofessional and clearly incompetent. If I could have I would have told them they suck at their jobs and need to find a job where they don't work with the public for anything. They acted put out because I needed to get a copy of any email for my child it was a seizure protocol and they acted like I was taking there time up. Well if I was their supervisor I would have a conversation about how to be respectful and have a good attitude while working with the customers. It seems to me that after reading several reviews regarding TERRIBLE service... They should hire new people! This was my second time coming in for finger printing and have gotten rude remarks from the same old long haired man. I mean.... Come on dude! You work in customer service, its YOUR job to try to be accommodating. I had brought in my birth certificate for one form on Identification and it wasnt accepted because because I've recently gotten married. I simply said that no where on the list of acceptable forms says anything about ladies that have been married are NOT able to use their birth certificate.... He proceeded to get snapy with me. I then tried to use a utility bill BUT I do paperless bills for my banking etc. I again tried explaining now a days lots of companies do the paperless thing. He said it needed to be paper form. Thankfully the young girl had to call about my last name being spelt wrong... So she was able to ask the finger print company.... Turns out YOU CAN show them your phone with your bank/pge account info. Soooooo needless to say.... Get your info right old man or get to stepping! Maybe find a job that's NOT customer service.... Let me preface this review by informing you that I have always and will always continue to use UPS for my mailbox and shipping/receiving needs, BUT not this one! Early this month I needed to mail some documents to another state. I provided Marsha (one of the owners) the return address label for where I wanted my letter to go and asked for the cheapest way to mail it. Rather than shipping it metered (a couple of stamps) she insisted the only way to send it was priority for $10.79. Even after asking how it was sent to me for only $1.19 (I showed her the envelope the documents came in) she said she didn't know how that was possible. I conceded only because it was important to me to get it out right away and shipped it priority. About 3 weeks later I checked my mail (at a different UPS Store) and there was the letter I sent out, return to sender non-deliverable address. After reviewing the address I realized the last digit in the zip code was transposed and therefore it went to a completely different city than intended! Seeing as how I knew everything else was correct, I looked up the correct zip code and sent it metered from my UPS Store for about $1.69. Of course I took a copy of the envelope first to go back and show the 2755 Commercial store! Upon entering the store I originally shipped it from I was kindly greeted by another man "how can I help you". Marsha was there as well. I respectfully stated that I was hoping I can get a refund for a letter I sent earlier this month. Verbatim Marsha said "not at this store" without any further information and as I was halfway walking through the lobby. I began to explain what had happened including the important piece of information I gleaned from my UPS Store; that after inputting the address incorrectly, Marsha was met with a pop-up alerting her that the address didn't exist which she in-turn had to override. While I explained this she used two curse words (not entirely directed at me but clearly because I was there) and walked away multiple times. The gentleman however was very friendly and handled my issue very professionally. It wasn't the money so much that it was the principle. It is my recommendation to travel a little further south on Commercial to the UPS Store next to Goodwill, I'm sure you'll find better service there! read more

As a little background, I had just come from the USPS post office down the street where a lady was extremely rude to me for not being the most efficient with my return package and label. I left feeling absolute dread that now I had to go to UPS with two packages and return labels and that these packages were even more chaotic in how I had them organized. I actually had to give myself a little pep talk in my head to get myself out of the car and into UPS. And what happens when I walk in? The wonderful man standing behind the counter asked what I had, I said return packages but they aren't ready yet, his response was to just bring them over and he would take care of it. He asked if I needed a receipt and when I said I didn't, he sent me on my way with a smile. I won't get into how drastically different this entire encounter was compared to the post office I just came from, but anytime I have the option, I will be choosing UPS in the future. read more

I've been in customer service for nine years and I just got the worst customer service that I've had in years. I got the most rude man helping me. He didn't even seem interested in my question, I felt like I was more of a bother than anything . He is in his late 40s or in his early 50s white hair beard and mustache. I called the manager and he seem to not care about my worries. You just don't treat your customers like Neanderthals it's rude and unprofessional. From what I've learned all these years your customer is always right even if they have (in your opinion) a stupid question. You never treat them like their idiots. Now I understand that read my label wrong and I was supposed to take my package to FedEx but there was no need for the rudeness that I got. I'm appalled and still furious. Let me preface this morning saying that I did read the previous members experience prior to visiting this UPS store. Since I wanted an alternative mailbox I thought I would give it a shot. I did meet Marsha and she smiled however I was assisted mainly by Agustus Cook who is listed as the owner. I found him to be pleasant and very professional. It did take a bit of time to get the box but Agustus did apologize and I really had no problem since I know that process is not the quickest no matter where it is handled. Agustus explained that they were a new franchise and had been at their location for about a year. I believe this is a family business with the mother and son handling the majority of the day to day operations. Because Marsha is a little older she seemed to get easily frustrated by simple technology. For example..when a customer brought in a USB to have docs printed Marsha struggled with plugging the USB stick into the slot and then with the usage of the printer. She became visibly frustrated and asked her son to take over while she took over assisting me. He finished the task and then returned to me. This is not a negative... It is just something to know. I did notice that their Priority Mail prices are about double what they would be at the USPS so I made a mental note to use USPS for mail and UPS for large packages etc. all in all it was a positive experience and I have no issues with giving them my business.
