They need to work on their customer service. I walked in with one package to ship. I needed to wait for the computer kiosk to enter my information so they could print the label. There was a gentleman in front of me for 15 minutes attempting to print something off of that kiosk. So, I had to wait. No assistance was offered by the staff to help the gentleman. Meanwhile, they did not offer to simply enter my information and print the label at their register. That easily could have been done. I got tired of waiting and I just walked out. Three employees were in the store, by the way. I went to the store on Rand Road in Deer Park where it was a very quick, a pleasant experience, and they did everything I needed them to do. This is the worst store I have ever been too in my life..The Caucasian guy at the desk should be FIRED! He is very rude and unknowledgeable about the services that this store suppose to provide! I ordered a package that was sent to this store which is an access point store. He tells me that the company I'm ordering from suppose to label my package as an access point.. Dumbest response ever! If I'm not a mailbox holder when you scan the package it automatically prints a label for my package to be put into access point! He seems to think he knows it all but he definitely don't! I told him I used to manage a ups store and what you're saying to me right now is incorrect! He wants to argue about the simplest thing! Yeah I know it's a $5 charge for each packet no matter the size unless it's otherwise stated in visual..So If u don't know then ask for help or advice! Lately the customer service at this location from a specific staff members is horrible. The gentleman is maybe in his late 50, early 69 Caucasian.. I have had a bad experience about 4 times now, hence why my review at this point. First couple times I assumed he was having a bad day and I let it slide. Instead, it seems to be a "all day every day attitude" and I don't like to keep getting embarrassed in front of other people. Hr must be new at this location. I visited the store last on Monday 12/18 around 10 am.. I had 10 items I had to return and there were a couple people before me and a couple people after Me. Once it was my turn, the first thing the gentleman says is "ugh are those all returns ?" I said yes! He then proceeded to complain saying ugh that's so many and was visibly not happy that he had to scan so many QR codes. I was ready with my QR code and instead of assisting me, he proceeded to call people out of line that had only one item. I don't think that is very nice. I, just like everyone else waited my turn. Regardless of how many items I had to return, I should have been helped first. His attitude, customer service skills, and rudeness does not go unnoticed. I felt humiliated in front of people and he ashamed me for having so many returns. Isn't this the service he should be providing?! Horrible!! read more

It's been a while since I've written a bad review but this one is well-deserved. When I lived off of Hicks Rd, my missed packages used go to the large UPS center across the street... Boy, is it true when they say "you don't know what you have til it's gone" because I long for the days when the only inconvenience of picking up your package was a 5 min wait. Between the mid-age female brunette and "bad Santa" as I affectionately call him (and as the other reviewers would agree), this is by far the most unpleasant collection of ppl I've encountered. Now that all my Amazon packages go to this location, I've had my fair share of unfortunate run-ins with this dynamic duo of depression. Once in a while you'll strike gold with the young gentleman who seems to genuinely enjoy helping you out. Those are the days I play the lottery (and the only reason for the extra star). My most recent interaction was as equally painful as the last 5. I walked in 2 min before close or at least attempted to when I noticed the door was locked. Kris "I hate humans" Kringle stared at me through the glass and shrugged so I showed him my hi tech cell phone which prominently displays the time on the lock screen. It read "6:28." He let out a sigh heard-around-the-world and begrudgingly unlocked the door as if I was coming to rob his home and murder his family. I love my neighborhood UPS store! I visit this location frequently to ship items relating to my work. It's on my commute home and the last thing anyone wants to do when you're already tired and hungry after a long day is deal with any hassle or inconvenience, These guys make sure that is never the case! Every single time I stop in (and I stop in quite a bit!) its always quick friendly service. Matan is great, he's helped me out many times with shipping my items. Today I went in and was helped by Caleb. He's the employee that inspired me to write this review. What a nice guy! Can't imagine working at UPS being a super fun job, but you wouldn't know that by the way his demeanor. Caleb seems genuinely happy to be there and help customers, even when there's a big line and he's super busy. I will continue to use this location even after I move because you truly can't beat a team of really awesome people making a quick little errand enjoyable. read more

When I lived in NorthEast Palatine I was having issues with my mail delivery. The mailbox to my condo was small but I received a lot of mail and I'd be gone for a few days sometimes. One Saturday morning I came home and opened my mailbox. It was empty with a note inside saying to pick up my mail at the post office. So I took that slip down to the post office and asked for my mail. The lady threw it back at me and said "Not a chance!" When I asked what she meant she said it was still on the truck and I couldn't get it until Monday. Since I worked a normal job Monday through Friday that didn't jive with the Post Office's hours that meant I'd have to wait until next Saturday to retrieve my mail. That was something I didn't want to have happen again. So on the way back from the Post Office I stopped into this UPS Store and talked to the store owner who was extremely helpful and got me set up with a mailbox. Aside from having a larger mailbox one other selling point was that they would accept packages on my behalf. I had no such service at my condo complex. If I wasn't home to accept a package at my condo complex it just sat at the common area entrance. Not cool. I needed a better alternative and the UPS Store provided it. Throughout the next three years (I think it was three years) I had 24 hour access to this location to retrieve my mail. I had packages delivered here as well with no problems. All of the employees were extremely helpful and friendly. The only issue I ever had was getting home late and needing to get a package. They made the issue a non-issue and worked with me on getting packages after hours in such situations. Had I not moved to Chicago I would've continued to do business with this store but sadly all good things must come to an end. No complaints and highly recommended!!! read more

My usual UPS in Mount Prospect had internet problems. I should have waited. I chose this Palatine location because it was convenient. UPS are franchises, apparently. My usual UPS guy in Mount Prospect is a tall, lanky hipster, in his late 20s, maybe early 30s. Here, old man Kris Kringle was working the show. He is the epitome of why people discrimination by age: cranky, disgruntled. He kinda of slammed my 7-lb Comcast box because it was too heavy for him. Sassy management lady kept bossing him around the computer. At one time, they bickered about the weight of my box and she even slammed my wires into the box. Back up. What I meant to say is that I never opened the Comcast box that was sent to me and now I am returning it. UPS opened a sealed box to scan the modem, slamming everything in the process -- my modem, the wires, etc. Then I finally get a receipt and they said that I would get a credit in a few weeks, when Comcast receives the packages. WHAT?! Then why didn't I bring this into a Comcast center? So, I am standing there with a receipt in hand. My poor box has been violated beyond recognition and they think that this transaction is done. "What's wrong? You look confused." "Well, ya. Are you going to seal it back up?" Their response? That this is a routine transaction and she assures me that they do this 15-20 times per day. This is doubtful considering how long it took old man Kris Kringle and boss to get it together. I said that I would wait until my package is sealed. She assures me at least 3 more times about 15-20 times per day and INSISTS THAT THEY COMPLETE ORDERS AS THEY COME. I am the only person standing here weeping about my destroyed box and they want to complete their other work. How long were they going to leave my open Comcast equipment on their scale? Until the next customer needs it? (Also, as a scientist, do not leave yer shit on a weight scale. What a way to ruin your equipment.) read more

I needed something notarized and had a specific window of time I could get it done today and need it shipped overnight. I decided to make an appointment online here after I spoke with the store on the phone who told me yes they have a notary that will be in during that time and than I could ship it overnight. When I showed up I was told the notary was not there and they didn't have any record of the appointment that UPS sent me 3 reminders about. They apologized, but doesn't explain why they didn't know about the appointment or why they didn't contact me that it couldn't be accommodated putting me in a tough spot. read more

If you haven't been in this location in awhile I suggest you give it a try. We have owned a mail box there for about a year now. The people that owned it before did not take care of their customers nearly as well as the new owners do. The people there are really on the ball now. I have to say their service is really top notch lately. They are very easy to work with and take extra time to make our lives easier. My wife and I have two little ones and sending her to pick up packages can be a little stressful on her. If the owners in he usually sees her pull up and helps her load up so she doesn't have to take the kids out of the car which I know personally is a nightmare. I am glad this store has new owners. It really makes the overall experience go much smoother. Great job guys and keep up the great work. Happy you all are my go to UPS store from now on. read more

I usually go to the UPS store in Arlington Heights but this one was on my route. Next time I'll go out of my way or go to Kinkos or something. Had 25 pounds of shredding that, as a female senior, I was able to bring inin because it was all in a wheeled cart. But it was heavy for me to lift. No help from the guy at the counter in weighing it, made me put it all on the scale AND put it all into their shredding box. I said why don't you help if I have to pay by the pound for you to shred it. I didn't even understand his response. There were two staff there and only one other customer. He just ignored me and left me to clearly struggle. NOTE TO SENIORS AND DISABLED FOLKS: No help here and bad attitude on top of it. Gave them a 2 as they can probably ship out packages. read more

I had a terrible experience here shipping a package. Normally when you ship something your not required to pull everything out of the box you brought and you can just put it into a bigger box. The cashier/ person working made me dump all of my items out onto the counter and went through them as if they were his. Weirded me out but whatever. The cashier continued to ask me what each thing is and how much it's worth etc. weirded me out again but whatever. I pay for insurance and shipping costs and leave. Glanced at the receipt later in the day and noticed no insurance was added to the receipt. Here's where it gets weird. I then go back to the store and ask for my package back which has not shipped yet. They wouldn't give it back and the obese bald manager gets involved and continues to tell me "this is what we do" repeatedly as if I'm not understanding him. All I wanted was my package back because I noticed the insurance was not put on my package, after the cashier went through my box, asked what it was worth, and proceeded to not provide me insurance. Sound fishy at all? Entire time I'm there the cashier would not look me in the eyes as he said "it's already packaged". We will see if the recipient of the package receives everything that was sent, regardless terrible experience with people who have no people skills and appear to be sketchy and deceiving. read more

I needed to ship some Christmas presents to family in Florida so I brought them to this store. I did re-use an old box, inspected by the woman at the counter. I filled out the appropriate forms, confirmed the address of where to send it, paid the not inexpensive charge, and went on my merry jingle bell way. Much to my surprise, UPS delivered said package to me the very next day! At first glance, I assumed the package was FROM my Florida family (as the return address was the Florida address where the package was supposed to be sent) and I almost didn't open it, assuming it was for Christmas. No - this UPS store sent me my own package. I returned to the store, thankful that I kept the receipt, and requested they send this via 3 day mail now that their wrongful delivery delayed shipment for 4 days. They refused, saying that the reused box had a still scannable barcode on it from the prior use. While I did scratch it out with a sharpie, the clerk checked out the box when I originally dropped off the box, so this potential problem could have been easily identified by someone who should have noticed that the removal was insufficient for their system. Poor attitude, poor customer service, and poor performance. I'll be driving the extra 5 minutes to Deer Park from here on out. read more
