Avoid this location at all costs. I brought in multiple packages containing electronics worth $1,500-$2,500, totaling around 57 lbs. The owner, James Hibbs, treated both me and my property with complete disrespect from the moment I walked in--no greeting, just commands and a hostile, condescending tone. While I was making multiple trips with heavy boxes, he stood there and watched without offering even basic help. When I placed two packages on the front desk scale, he snapped, pointed to another scale right in front of him, and said, "That's the wrong scale. I told you to put them on this one." Moments later, instead of placing them on the scale he had just insisted on, he took both packages--together weighing roughly 25-30 lbs--and dropped them from waist height onto the floor, stacked on top of each other. The impact caused a loud thump due to the weight. Not the scale--the floor. When I called him out, he falsely claimed he was handling them the same way I did and said he "didn't care." Another customer nearby witnessed this interaction and even commented that this kind of behavior at this location is "normal." At that point, I told him I no longer trusted him with my packages and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. After bringing some items back to my car, I returned to the store to retrieve the remaining packages. That's when I noticed that one of the boxes had been tampered with--the tape on the bottom had been cut open. I had personally double-taped all of my packages before arriving, and that damage was not present beforehand. Fortunately, I had been carrying the boxes horizontally--otherwise the contents could have fallen out. When I told him this should be on camera, he claimed there are no cameras in the store. I asked the nearby customer if they had witnessed the earlier interaction, and they confirmed they had. The entire situation was unacceptable and humiliating. I ended up going to another UPS location, where a manager told me they were not surprised and had heard numerous complaints about this store. This incident has been reported to the Mount Prospect Police Department. If you believe your items have been tampered with at this location, report it immediately. Between my experience and the consistent pattern of similar reviews, it's clear this isn't an isolated incident--it's how this place operates. I have used them several times over the years. 1 week ago, I had to return a box to Amazon. As I was getting in a line of three, the guy, 6'2 ", 180, late 40's, said, "If for Amazon, put on the counter."I asked for a receipt, and he said no. There was a UPS truck outside. I said can I give it to him he said, " No. Looking back, they wouldn't have been paid. I found out I could. Amazon charged me $70.00 because they didn't ship. Now I have an item that does not work. The jerk now blames me, saying you're supposed to bring it to Whole Foods, 10 miles away. If the guy hadn't taken a shortcut and given me a receipt, would he have known I had to go to only Whole Foods? That's what you get when you hire a guy (child) to do a basic job. this is not much of a review because I couldn't even go to the store because the hours on yelp and Google are incorrect. It says that they close at seven when their voicemail says that they close at 6 PM during the week you would think that his company could get their hours correct on the Internet, which is what everybody uses nowadays who actually calls at first.. I only called because I had a question about when an order would be shipped out because apparently if you drop something off tonight, it doesn't get to a truck until tomorrow evening which makes no sense to why they wouldn't have a pick up in the morning or one would think would they would have one after they close... In the past few months I have shipped packages through UPS. Each time I have used this store, service has been fast and efficient and always providing me options for delivery. There is not much a UPS store can do to set themselves apart from others, except service and this one provides excellent service. read more

This is my local ups store by me. It's located by the strip mall. It's a locally owned store so we try to come here to support. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot. I do wish they had a handicap button outside especially those who are carrying large packages into the store. So you can set up a P.O. Box here, bring items to have delivered. Place is clean. If you have AAA card you also get discounts that you can use here I believe. They have all box sizes for your items to be delivered. You can also weight your shredding paper items that they weight and you pay per pound. They have a lock bin that you would insert your paperwork to be shredded. Overall it's your standard ups store. This store opens later so check first before you drive here as some other ups stores around the area opens earlier or closes later depending on your needs. i would come back here again as needed. read more

I was at the store yesterday when Z. K. was there. She had to return something. She was packing her box when I walked into the store and walked towards the counter. She proceeded to yell at me clarifying that she was already in line. I couldn't have cared less. I wasn't in a rush. I was fine letting her go. I'm not sure what Z. K.'s issue is. She struck me as someone who's just angry at the world. I've had a mailbox at this UPS location for more years now than I can remember. Kerri and Jimmy are always helpful and kind and courteous. Dear James, if you find your job unpleasant and if it physically hurts to smile, then please get out of customer service. I walked in at 6:23 pm. They close at 7, so plenty of time. I didn't walk in at the last minute, and I just got off of a 13 hour shift so I feel your pain (I, too work with customers). I struggled with the door a bit. I had 5 packages and the door is a bit heavy and sticks, which for a place that ships packages is crappy. Anyways, not James fault. He looked at me, I looked at him and I said "hi" with a smile. Not too big of a smile, not too small, just right... He said nothing. Not even a crack of a smile. In fact, I felt like I was bothering him. Maybe I was? He's probably getting his closing stuff done and he probably saw my five packages and thought "great, look at all those". Whatever. 4 of the 5 were pre-paid, so easy peasy. He scanned the 4 pre-paids and then the phone rang. Without an "excuse me" or "hold on" or "I need to grab that" or "dammit the phone just won't stop ringing today"...nothing. He just picked it up and started taking to Wayne. Poor Wayne didn't even get a hello, so maybe it's not me, maybe he just doesn't like to greet people. I know these type of people exist. I've met some, actually I've met many. He starts taking to Wayne and walks to the back of the store. Again, no "excuse me", no "hold on, I'll be right back", no "hold on Wayne I'm with a customer", no "I'm helping someone and I'll be right with you", no nothing. From the way he answered the phone and by his conversation I'm guessing Wayne works there or at least for UPS, so it's that much more annoying because Wayne would have understood. He finally comes back and GASP! He actually apologized and continued to ship my final package that I actually had to pay for. And this is why I gave them 3 stars, because I was really only going to give them 2, one for helping me and the other for being so quick (he's pretty fast). But after the apology and then requesting that I have a good night I decided he earned a 3rd. So, thank you James for assisting me. I appreciate it. You seem to know what you are doing and you do it quick. Please just give us a smile and a hello when we come in, it's called customer service. And for the record, in case someone hasn't told you yet today: thank you, I appreciate your hard work. Now let's all have a laugh and go back to our lives. read more

This store is very convenient for me from a location perspective, and a service perspective. I find the short drive, well stocked packing material, and friendly help to be the perfect trifecta of a shipping location. The great hours are the cherry on top. People wonder about how we could let the US Postal service take such a hit, while I wonder how those people can stand for the despicable treatment given at my local post office(s). Sure, UPS costs a little more, but I am willing to pay for a friendly face and good attitude any day of the week. read more

I was extremely disappointed in their service and more so in their response. I had sent UPS two packages to San Jose and only one got there on the Friday it was expected. The one that did not arrive was a painting I made for my Great Niece for her first birthday. When I brought it in on the Saturday before I told the man the sides were still wet. That is why I brought wax paper to wrap the sides if it was still wet on Monday when they were SUPPOSE to sent it out. Apparently, a different person was in and he decided not to send it out until Tuesday because he felt it was wet. Communication a very important part of life, especially in business. When I called from California I told the older man that the painting had not been signed since it was suppose to be there on Friday. I said that they should pay for it to be sent back to Chicago. Because my nephew would be here in May he would take it back. Once again the older man said there was no way they would pay for anything. Nice customer service. I was there for faxing service and it was quick. They accepts credit card only when your purchase is $2 dollar or more. I was emailed a free return shipping label from a book rental company, I do not have access to a printer so I kindly asked the lady at the front desk if I could print my email. She suggested that I forward the email to their address and they'll print it but they'll be a charge. I said "$0.10 or $0.20 for the paper? No problem, she said "no, $1.99 for the email charge. Are you kidding me right now? A free email service and you're charging $1.99 for the email? It isn't the $1.99 it's the business practice. I will not be using UPS any longer. Take the time to drive to another location. The owner, Casey Raszewski, is extremely rude. I went in with my 6 year old son to send out a package. There was a tape gun on the counter so I started to tape up the box. I thought I was being helpful but getting it taped for him. The owner scolded me for using his tape and accused me of going behind the counter when infact the tap was sitting right on the front counter. I will never do business with him again.
