Been using the Recycling Alternative for quite a few years now at work. We've used the recycling…read moreservice, where they come and pick up our paper and paper products for recycling. We keep 6 large bins in our storage that we fill up with paper, cardboard, and shredded material and when they are full we give them a call and ask them to pick them up. Pick up is usually done the same week, but occassionally we've called later in the week and they have already done our area that week, so the pick up gets scheduled for the week following. Works out well for us. There hasn't been much of an increase in the price of the service over the years. They managed to reduce their fuel costs by adding new and more advanced trucks to their fleet, which allows them better fuel economy, so they didn't have to pass on increased costs to the customers. Great business, wonderful service, and very reasonable prices.

Although we're doing all that we can for the owner and property manager about the pest control half the battles is the organics pick up and the cooperation which we feel we haven't been getting by the city, especially since both the owners and the property manager have been investing so much $$ on pest control services of most of the properties. Out of the awesomeness of my heart and 'cause these are good customers I've taken upon myself to do some research on some independent companies who can offer them some good organics pick up. Mike was actually the first out of the 4 companies I submitted soft specs to actually get back to me both phone and e-mail. I am a huge stickler for communication (often a huge pet peeve of mine if you read my other reviews), therefore, was impressed right away that he got back to me in a timely manner. We spoke for a good 5 minutes and he did a mini phone presentation with me. One of the things that they offer that the other companies does not offer is that they do a hot water wash of the bins so that there is no smell left behind which helps immensely with trying to control the pest control issue. In the initial quote they were willing to upgrade from a 32 L bin to a 64L bin which will help during the summer periods. Supposedly to compensate for the harsh winters we're to get a super hot summer which means rotting of food scraps at a faster rate compared to previous years = more attraction to rodents, therefore, this upgrade offer was super awesome by Mike. Mike provided us with the quote in just under an hour upon our conversation which was appreciated. Mike was really awesome with setting and putting the project and answering all my inquiries including Billing. Thank you.

This is/was an excellent service!…read more We needed an old couch removed a recycled and decided on Green Coast for a few reasons. Firstly, I emailed a number of services, and they had a very fair price. Secondly, they were very quick to respond to my emails and my call. On the day needed, I received a call from the business about 15 minutes before the time they were to arrive, which really put me at ease and allowed us to get things organized. The workers introduced themselves, and were very courteous and very quick. The whole process took less than 10 minutes, and ended with a thank-you and a handshake! I cannot comment on the recycling end of this transaction, but I assume it will be done properly. As a resident of the west end I really am tired of seeing couches, t.v.s, mattresses etc, etc, etc in the alley at the end of every month, and so I was happy to see that my old couch is dealt with properly. I would not hesitate to use this service again, and will recommend it to friends whenever possible.
