I had stopped here to purchase a mailing tube so that the posters and prints that I bought at the Vancouver Art Museum would survive the next four plane flights before I can get them home and safe. It's a small shop but they have full mailing and posting services including boxes and packing materials and envelopes. A full-size copier, too. Mailboxes. Printing services. The gent who helped me was very kind. I did buy the mailing tube from him, but I also got some rubbish cardboard to hold a flat print safe in my backpack. Sharp scissors let me cut the cardboard to fit. Super helpful! read more

UPS delivery is always a pain in my ass. They give a 10 hour window of time as to when they will come by. They ring the buzzer (which rings 3 times ) then just as you are about to pick it up....it stops , and away goes UPS.... I was eagerly waiting with my UPS tracking screen on and my paranoia vision TV Security channel on. Nothing ... I had called UPS to ask that they send a message to the driver, that if there was no response to the buzzer, to please call me. I would go down. Imagine my surprise, when after wasting my entire day waiting around- that the status had changed online to Delivery Attempt - No answer! They had not even tried to ring buzzer or call me. I was not happy. I called to ask that they drop it off at The UPS store. They did! I called and asked if I could come pick it up (yes before 6 pm) I arrive, barely had to wait, my package was given to me after I showed ID, I signed and was on my way home with my new Fredrick's of Hollywood Lingerie! Believe it or not one of the things I miss about the West End is seeing the guys at the UPS Store. They are still the best. Always smiling and eager to help out. I spent many a time in there over the past few years picking up packages and shipping things off last minute. Always a great experience with Ashton & Jordan and their team. Update: another day went by, and the rep on the phone said he'd send my package expedited to shave one day off the six days late the package already was. I later get a call that the Manager of the location had denied the expedition as i'd left him a negative review. 1) that's not how resolve negative review issues 2) you had every opportunity to at least try and do the right thing and meet your delivery standards 3) It's now been a full week since i came in and paid for the shipment, and i'm finally getting a tracking number today. Had two deliveries by UPS. Both times they were supposed to reattempt delivery and they never came back. No explanation or identification there was anything wrong with their service when I finally got the package. Had to deal with their automated phone systems and operators that don't communicate well just to get my boxes. Fed Ex is much better. Very professional and higher standards. read more

Every once in awhile I encounter a place of business that will always, *always* get me giggling. While there are a variety of factors that must come into play in order for this titter to take place, there is but one constant: the people who happen to work there. This UPS Store is such a place. Cracking jokes, making small talk (but not in vain), suggesting paper stock, giving me a break when I am broke, producing high-quality prints every single time -- all of this service AND they're super efficient. It's been over 2 years since I FTR'd The UPS Store on Burrard... and these guys keep getting better and better. It's really Jordan and Ashton that rock my printing socks -- they're the guys in charge. I have lost count how many times I've emailed them in my own self-imposed bind, and they've turned around short run printing jobs within hours. And when there's no one home to sign for a delivery - yeah they take my deliveries too. They've always been quick to respond with quotes, awesome to their regular customers, and friendly neighbours to the other shops along that little strip of Burrard. For that, and the convenience factor, I stay pretty loyal to them. Plus the fact that they're cool when I send Peter S with my credit card to pick up printing jobs or to drop off deliveries ... you have to love the trust you build over years of working with the same cool guys. Went all over town trying to find a reasonable price to ship an awkwardly sized present to a friend in Australia. Jordan at the UPS store came over and was SUPER helpful - he went the extra mile to find us competitive rates for packaging and shipping! Was able to offer us a significantly cheaper rate than we had been able to find anywhere else, and explained every step of the process and cost calculation, etc. Was absolutely thrilled with the service, and grateful for the extra help to ease the pain of shipping packages at Christmas!!! The delivery people are flat out lazy. Maybe this is just in Kits, I dunno. It's bad enough that they've completely dropped the "3 delivery attempts" system they supposedly run by. But now they don't even bother to use the buzzer anymore, they just stick the note on the door saying 1st attempt - no answer, pick up at nearest location. Which brings me to the store, which doesn't fare much better. Here's their hours of operation: Mon-Sat, 9-5:30. So that means if you work a regular job (hah), the only shot you have to pick up a package before their 7-day deadline (God only knows what sort of hell ensues if you miss that) is either Saturday, or booking it over there as soon as you get off work, in hopes that you can arrive by 5:20-5:25. But alas, this location likes to consistently close early (thanks guys). read more

I've used their mailbox and other services for years and have never had an issue. They really know how to take care of their customers (and could probably make millions teaching other Vancouver establishments how to treat clients!). By far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. For such a large international company you would think they would have some form of organization. The delivery driver completely messed up my delivery in saying that I was not listed in the directory (I am). So my package was shipped back to the main UPS store that is not accessible unless you have a car, which I do not. So after talking to 4 people saying I couldn't have my package re delivered until Monday, it was Thursday, they said they would send it to the downtown location for Saturday AM. I technically needed it for Friday but early Saturday would have to do. I paid my duty charges over the phone and went on Saturday to pick it up. The store was closed Saturday!! Now all of the Vancouver dispatches are closed and after talking to the international UPS they are completely unaware of who is delivering today and where my package is because they do not keep a database that they can access that information??? Blows my mind! Now lets see if the package even arrives by Monday... At this point I feel they should reimburse the 300.00 I spent so I can at least go pick up something similar to the product I need for today. This is by far the WORST company I have ever dealt with. read more
