The people are friendly and helpful, but they add way too much on to shopping costs. I shipped two video games in an envelope and they charged me $7.50, which is what I charged the person buying them. Then when the person got them they were upset because the price on the postage was $3.75. They wondered why I had doubled the shipping. $3.75 is not necessarily a large amp my of money, but I also got a price to ship a video game console from them and then went to the UPS store. UPS charged me half of what post and parcel quoted me. So while Fairhaven does not have a post office, unless you want to pay double, I recommend either the UPS store or go to an official post office. read more

They even have a cool computer set up that remembers my transactions, so if I need to send something to people I've sent to before, it's already in the system and wicked fast to print out. I went to Fairhaven Post and Parcel to send a medium sized table lamp to a relative. The woman who served me was not unfriendly.. she was cold as ice. It was as though, every life event that had made her angry was taken out with each stroke of her tape gun as she packed the boxes. It was done in a very sloppy and very angry way. I was blown away, that the cost of sending the lamp came to 200$. When I paid for the lamp she did not even give me the gratitude of a "Thank you". I was excited to find a local mailing service but just had a bad experience that unfortunately will have me take my business elsewhere. I walked in and asked if they had the USPS flat rate boxes. she said that they contract with the USPS and did have flat rate boxes. I talked to the clerk about how grateful I was that they had the packages so that I could squeeze everything in the box and not have to pay more with a non-flat-fee package. When it came time to pay, I was told that it would be $10 instead of the $5.85 USPS rate. I explained that I thought the price was miscalculated, but she told me that they were a business and had to add a "small fee" (which almost doubled the cost) as the post service. I explained that I asked her initially if they carried flat rate boxes, which inherently means that the price is fixed. She again said that they charge a hire rate, and when I said that it was too high for me and I would have to go to the post office, she said that it had already been processed and I would have to pay. It was very misleading and the clerk was incredibly rude and unsympathetic. Again, I was excited about having a local business for shipping, printing, etc, but will certainly not return here. read more
